BASIC CATHOLIC PRAYERS

Our Father - Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary - Hail Mary, full of grace! The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory Be - Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

An Act of Faith - O my God, I firmly believe that You are one God in three divine persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I believe that Your divine Son became man and died for our sins, and that he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the holy Catholic Church teaches because You have revealed them, who can neither deceive nor be deceived. Amen.

An Act of Hope - O my God, trusting in Your promises and because You are faithful, powerful and merciful, I hope, through the merits of Jesus Christ, for the pardon of my sins, final perseverance and the blessed glory of heaven. Amen.

An Act of Love - O my God, because You are infinite goodness and worthy of infinite love, I love You with my whole heart above all things, and for love of You I love my neighbor as myself. I forgive all who have offended me and ask pardon of all whom I have offended. Amen.

An Act of Contrition - O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee and I detest all my sins, because I dread the loss of heaven and the pains of hell; but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, Who are all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace, to confess my sins, to do penance, and to amend my life. Amen.

Morning Offering - O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world. I offer them for all the intentions of the Sacred Heart: the salvation of souls, reparation for sin, the reunion of all Christians, and the intentions of our Holy Father, the Pope. Amen.

Night Prayer - O eternal God and Ruler of all creation, You have allowed me to reach this hour. Forgive the sins I have committed this day by word, deed or thought. Purify me, O Lord, from every spiritual and physical stain. Grant that I may rise from this sleep to glorify You by my deeds throughout my entire lifetime, and that I be victorious over every spiritual and physical enemy. Deliver me, O Lord, from all vain thoughts and from evil desires, for yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, now and ever, and forever. Amen.

Grace Before Meals - Bless us, O Lord, and these Thy gifts which we are about to receive from Thy bounty. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thanksgiving After Meals - We give Thee thanks, almighty God, for all Thy gifts, who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen.

ORDER OF THE PRAESIDIUM MEETING

Set Up for Meetings – The setting of every meeting shall be

uniform. The members should sit around a table at one end of

which for the purpose of the meeting a small temporary altar is

erected. On a white cloth of sufficient size is placed a statue of

the Immaculate Conception (in the attitude of the distribution

of Graces), preferably about two feet (60 cm) high, flanked by

two vases of flowers and two candlesticks with lighted candles.

A little to the right of the statue, and a little in advance of it,

should be set the vexillum.

As the idea is that the statue represents the Queen present

among her soldiers, the altar must not be separated from the

meeting-table or so placed as to remove the statue outside the

circle of the members. If natural flowers are absolutely

unobtainable it would be allowable to use artificial ones with

some greenery added to provide the element of living nature.

The words “Legio Mariae” may be worked upon the cloth, but

not the name of the praesidium. Points of unity, not of

distinction, should be stressed.

Punctuality is crucial. At the appointed time, the members shall

be in their places, and the meeting shall begin. The meeting

lasts no more than 1 ½ hours. No praesidium meeting is ever to

begin without its written program, termed the Work Sheet. The

Work Sheet should set down in detail all the work being done

by the praesidium, and opposite to each item, the names of the

members assigned. Before the end of the meeting it is to be

ensured that each member has been provided with his work for

the coming week. The President should have a bound book in

which the Work Sheet can be compiled each week.

1. Kneel for the Opening Prayers from the Tessera followed by

the recitation of the rosary. These are led by the Spiritual

Director and in his absence by the President. The meeting

opens with the invocation and prayer to the Holy Spirit, who is

the source of that Grace, that Life, that Love, of which we

rejoice to regard Mary as the channel.

OPENING PRAYERS & ROSARY

In the name of the Father, etc. (sign of the cross)

Come, O Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful, and enkindle in them the fire of your love.

V. Send forth your Spirit, O Lord, and they shall be created. R. And you shall renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray. God our Father, pour out the gifts of your Holy Spirit on the world. You sent the Spirit on your Church to begin the teaching of the gospel: now let the Spirit continue to work in the world through the hearts of all who believe. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

V. You, O Lord, will open my lips. R. And my tongue shall announce your praise. V. Incline unto my aid, O God. R. O Lord, make haste to help me. V. Glory be to the Father, etc. R. As it was in the beginning, etc.

There follow five decades of the rosary,

of which the Spiritual Director shall

initiate the first, third, and fifth, and the

members the second and fourth.

2. Be seated for the Spiritual Reading from the Handbook. It is

to be given by the Spiritual Director (or in his absence by the

President). Its duration should be limited to about five minutes.

The choice of spiritual reading is free, but it is strongly

recommended that at least during the early years of a

praesidium the reading be taken from the Handbook in order to

familiarize the members with its contents and to stimulate

them to study it seriously. On the conclusion of the reading, it is

the custom for the members to make, together, the sign of the

cross.

3. Welcome to new candidates and visitors. (Optional)

4. The minutes of the previous meeting are read by the

Secretary. If approved by the members present, they are

signed by the President. The minutes should strike a sensible

mean between excessive and inadequate length, and shall

designate each meeting by its proper serial number.

Page 7: Our Lady, Queen of the Holy Family - WordPress.com · 2019. 3. 13. · Our Father - Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth

[6]

5. The Standing Instructions are inserted upon the Work Sheet

and read out by the President at the first meeting of each

month, immediately after the signing of the minutes.

Standing Instruction

“Legionary duty requires from each legionary: First, the punctual and regular attendance at the weekly meetings of the praesidium, and the furnishing there of an adequate and audible report on the work done; Second, the daily recitation of the Catena; Third, the performance of a substantial active legionary work, in the spirit of faith, and in union with Mary, in such fashion that in those worked for and in one's fellow-members, the Person of our Lord is once again seen and served by Mary, his Mother; Fourth, absolute respect for the confidential nature of many matters discussed at the meeting or learned in connection with the legionary work.”

6. Roll Call is taken by the Vice President. (Optional)

7. The Treasurer shall submit a weekly statement showing the

income and expenditure of the praesidium and the resulting

financial position.

8. Reports of the members are received (to recruit active

members). Members should remain seated while delivering

their reports, which should be verbal, though members may aid

themselves by notes.

9. Reports of the members are received (on work assignments).

This report is done in pairs. If assigned work was not done,

other work MAY NOT be reported on at this time.

Page 8: Our Lady, Queen of the Holy Family - WordPress.com · 2019. 3. 13. · Our Father - Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth

[7]

10. While all are standing, the Catena Legionis is recited (about

an hour into the meeting). The Antiphon is recited by all

present: the Magnificat in alternate verses by the Spiritual

Director (or in his absence, by the President) and by the

members: the Prayer by the Spiritual Director (or President)

alone. The sign of the cross is not made before the Catena. It is

made by all at the first verse of the Magnificat. It is not made

after the Prayer because the Allocutio immediately follows.

THE CATENA LEGIONIS

Antiphon. Who is she that comes forth as the morning rising, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army set in battle array?

V. My soul glorifies the Lord.* (make the sign of the cross) R. My spirit rejoices in God, my Savior. V. He looks on his servant in her lowliness;* henceforth all ages will call me blessed.

R. The Almighty works marvels for me.* Holy his name! V. His mercy is from age to age,* on those who fear him.

R. He puts forth his arm in strength* and scatters the proud-hearted. V. He casts the mighty from their thrones* and raises the lowly.

R. He fills the starving with good things,* sends the rich away empty.

V. He protects Israel his servant,* remembering his mercy, R. The mercy promised to our fathers,* to Abraham and his sons for ever.

Page 9: Our Lady, Queen of the Holy Family - WordPress.com · 2019. 3. 13. · Our Father - Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth

[8]

V. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. R. As it was in the beginning is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Antiphon. Who is she that comes forth as the morning rising, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army set in battle array?

V. O Mary, conceived without sin. R. Pray for us who have recourse to you.

Let us pray. O Lord Jesus Christ, our mediator with the Father, you have been pleased to appoint the Most Blessed Virgin, your mother, to be our mother also, and our mediatrix with you, mercifully grant that whoever comes to you seeking your favors may rejoice to receive all of them through her. Amen.

11 The Allocutio was the Roman General’s address to his

legionaries. When the members resume their seats, a short talk

shall be given by the Spiritual Director. Except in special

circumstances, this should take the shape of a commentary

upon the Handbook with the object of eventually making the

members completely familiar with every point contained

therein. In the event of the absence of the Spiritual Director,

the commentary should be made by the President or by any

member designated by the President. It is stressed that a mere

reading from the Handbook or any other document does not

suffice. The Allocutio should not occupy more than five or six

minutes. On the completion of the Allocutio, the sign of the

cross is made by all present. Then the taking of the Reports and

the other business of the meeting is continued.

Page 10: Our Lady, Queen of the Holy Family - WordPress.com · 2019. 3. 13. · Our Father - Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth

[9]

12. Immediately after the Allocutio, the Secret Bag collection is

made, to which every member shall contribute according to his

or her means. The collection is secret because it is necessary to

place those who have resources and those who have not, on

precisely the same level before the praesidium. The money is

not counted at this meeting.

13. The Auxiliary membership report is given by the Vice-

President.

14. There is a discussion by members on the Handbook Study.

Each member should share thoughts on the reading assigned

the previous week.

15. The President gives the teams their work assignments for

the coming week. This work is done in pairs, except for CCD or

PREP teaching.

16. Other Business: Curia report, upcoming Legion events,

announcements and questions.

17. When all the business has been transacted, including the

assignment of work to each member and the marking of the

attendance roll, the meeting ends with the Concluding Prayers

of the Legion and the priest’s blessing. (The meeting shall not

last longer than one hour and a half from the appointed time

for starting.)

CONCLUDING PRAYERS

In the name of the Father, etc. (sign of the cross)

We fly to your patronage, O holy Mother of God; despise not our prayers in our necessities, but ever deliver us from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin.

V. Mary Immaculate, Mediatrix of All Graces R. Pray for us. V. St. Michael, St. Gabriel and St. Raphael R. Pray for us. V. All you heavenly Powers, Mary’s Legion of Angels R. Pray for us. V. St. John the Baptist R. Pray for us. V. Saints Peter and Paul R. Pray for us.

Confer, O Lord, on us, who serve beneath the standard of Mary, that fullness of faith in you and trust in her, to which it is given to conquer the world.

Grant us a lively faith, animated by charity, which will enable us to perform all our actions from the motive of pure love of you, and ever to see you and serve you in our neighbor; a faith, firm and immovable as a rock, through which we shall rest tranquil and steadfast amid the crosses, toils and disappointments of life; a courageous faith which will inspire us to undertake and carry out without hesitation great things for your glory and for the salvation of souls; a faith which will be our Legion’s Pillar of Fire – to lead us forth united – to kindle everywhere the fires of divine love – to enlighten those who are in darkness and in the shadow of death – to inflame those who are lukewarm – to bring back life to those who are dead in sin; and which will guide our own feet in the way of peace; so that – the battle of life over – our Legion may reassemble, without the loss of any one, in the kingdom of your love and glory. Amen.

May the souls of our departed legionaries and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.

PRAYER FOR BEATIFICATION OF FRANK DUFF

God our Father,

You inspired your servant Frank Duff with a profound insight into the mystery of your Church, the Body of Christ, and of the place of Mary the Mother of Jesus in this mystery.

In his immense desire to share this insight with others and in filial dependence on Mary he formed her Legion to be a sign of her maternal love for the world and a means of enlisting all her children in the Church’s evangelizing work.

We thank you Father for the graces conferred on him and for the benefits accruing to the Church from his courageous and shining faith.

With confidence we beg you that through his intercession you grant the petition we lay before you… (quiet petition)

We ask too that if it be in accordance with your will, the holiness of his life may be acknowledged by the Church for the glory of your Name, through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

About the Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary is an international association of practicing

Catholics who serve as volunteers in numerous ways, especially

Page 13: Our Lady, Queen of the Holy Family - WordPress.com · 2019. 3. 13. · Our Father - Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth

[12]

in outreach and religious formation. It

was founded in September 7, 1921 by

the layman Frank Duff in Dublin, Ireland.

The organization makes a delineation

between Active and Auxiliary (praying)

members. As a Marian association of

ten million plus members, it is the

largest Catholic “apostolic organization”

in the world. The Active members serve

God under the banner of Mary by practicing the Corporal and

Spiritual works of mercy, although their gravity is with the

latter. As true “missionary disciples” they often pursue “door-

to-door” ministries, seeking to bring home lapsed Catholics and

to invite the unchurched or non-Catholics to join the faith.

They focus upon prayer, participation at Mass and religious

formation.

The Legion wants to actualize or make real one’s baptismal

faith. It takes its inspiration from Louis de Montfort's book,

True Devotion to Mary. What do the legionaries do? They have

visited the sick in hospitals, the infirmed and elderly in nursing

homes and inmates in prisons. They assist with parish census.

They evangelize door-to-door. They work as parish catechists.

They assist with the parish liturgies. The list goes on and on.

A baptized Catholic in good standing is eligible to join a

praesidium as a probational member (a period that lasts 90

days or three months). After this probational “learning” period,

one may take the oath of “Legion Promise,” a pledge of fidelity

to the Holy Spirit and Mary, becoming a permanent Active

member.

Page 14: Our Lady, Queen of the Holy Family - WordPress.com · 2019. 3. 13. · Our Father - Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth

[13]

Active members regularly attend the weekly sessions of their

praesidium and pray daily the prayer of the Legion, the Catena

Legionis, which consists essentially of the Magnificat and some

shorter prayers. Their main role lies in active apostolate for the

Legion and the church.

Auxiliary members support the Legion through their prayer.

They pray the whole booklet of Legion prayers, the Tessera,

every day. The Tessera consists of the Invocation, prayers to the

Holy Spirit, the Rosary, the Catena, and the concluding prayers

of the Tessera.

The Praetorians are the highest grade of active members. In

addition to their duties as active members, they pray the

Rosary, say the Divine Office and go to Holy Mass daily.

The Adjutorians are the highest grade of auxiliary members. In

addition to the regular prayers, they also say the Divine Office

and go to Holy Mass daily.

The Vatican’s Secretary of the Pontifical Council for the laity on

March 27, 2014 decreed the Legion of Mary as a recognized

International Association of the Faithful. The basic unit, as we

have here at Holy Family Parish, is the Praesidium (singular). It

usually consists of three to twenty members and meets weekly.

There are larger divisions:

A Curia (singular) supervises several Praesidia (plural).

A Comitium (singular) has charge over several Curiae

(plural).

A Regia (singular) has jurisdiction over a province or state.

Page 15: Our Lady, Queen of the Holy Family - WordPress.com · 2019. 3. 13. · Our Father - Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth

[14]

A Senatus (singular) is the next highest level, controling

Regiae (plural) over a very large area, as with a country.

The Concilium is the highest level and is centered in Dublin,

Ireland.

The officers are always the same:

(1) The President

(2) The Vice-President

(3) The Secretary

(4) The Treasurer

(5) The Spiritual Director (a priest or religious)

The goal of the Legion of Mary is sanctification. Members

invoke Mary as their patroness and appeal to the Trinity. They

seek through devotion and the sacramental life to grow in grace

and holiness. Their objective is that of the Gospel, to become

saints in Christ’s kingdom.

MIRACULOUS MEDAL NOVENA

Immaculate Mary

Immaculate Mary, your praises we sing, You reign now in heaven with Jesus, our King. Ave, Ave, Ave Maria, Ave, Ave Maria.

In heaven, the blessed your glory proclaim; On earth, we your children invoke your fair name. Ave, Ave, Ave Maria, Ave, Ave Maria.

Your name is our power, your virtues our light, Your love is our comfort, your pleading our might. Ave, Ave, Ave Maria, Ave, Ave Maria.

Page 16: Our Lady, Queen of the Holy Family - WordPress.com · 2019. 3. 13. · Our Father - Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth

[15]

We pray for our Mother, the Church upon earth, And bless, dearest lady, the land of our birth. Ave, Ave, Ave Maria, Ave, Ave Maria.

In the name of the Father and of the

Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Come, O Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of

Your faithful, and kindle in them the

fire of Your love. Send forth Your

Spirit, and they shall be created.

Response: And You shall renew the

face of the earth.

Let us pray. O God, who did instruct

the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant us

in the same Spirit to be truly wise and ever to rejoice in His

consolation, through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen.

O Mary, conceived without sin. Response: Pray for us who have recourse to you. (3 times)

O Lord Jesus Christ, who have vouchsafed to glorify by

numberless miracles the Blessed Virgin Mary, immaculate from

the first moment of her conception, grant that all who devoutly

implore her protection on earth, may eternally enjoy Your

presence in heaven, who, with the Father and Holy Spirit, live

and reign, God, for ever and ever. Amen. / O Lord Jesus Christ,

who for the accomplishment of Your greatest works, have

chosen the weak things of the world, that no flesh may glory in

Your sight; and who for a better and more widely diffused belief

in the Immaculate Conception of Your Mother, have wished

Page 17: Our Lady, Queen of the Holy Family - WordPress.com · 2019. 3. 13. · Our Father - Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth

that the Miraculous Medal be manifested to Saint Catherine

Laboure, grant, we beseech You, that filled with like humility,

we may glorify this mystery by word and work. Amen.

Memorare

Remember, O most compassionate Virgin Mary, that never was

it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored

your assistance, or sought your intercession was left unaided.

Inspired with this confidence, we fly unto you, O Virgin of

Virgins, our Mother; to you we come; before you we kneel

sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise

not our petitions, but in your clemency hear and answer them.

Amen.

Novena Prayer

O Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of Our Lord Jesus and our

Mother, penetrated with the most lively confidence in your all-

powerful and never failing intercession, manifested so often

through the Miraculous Medal, we your loving and trustful

children implore you to obtain for us the graces and favors we

ask during this Novena, if they be beneficial to our immortal

souls, and the souls for whom we pray. (Here privately form

your petitions.) You know, O Mary, how often our souls have

been the sanctuaries of your Son who hates iniquity. Obtain for

us then a deep hatred of sin and that purity of heart which will

attach us to God alone so that our every thought, word and

deed may tend to His greater glory. Obtain for us also a spirit of

prayer and self-denial that we may recover by penance what

we have lost by sin and at length attain to that blessed abode

where you are the Queen of angels and of men. Amen.

Act of Consecration to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal

O Virgin Mother of God, Mary Immaculate, we dedicate and

consecrate ourselves to you under the title of Our Lady of the

Miraculous Medal. May this Medal be for each one of us a sure

sign of your affection for us and a constant reminder of our

duties toward you. Ever while wearing it, may be blessed by

your loving protection and preserved in the grace of your Son.

O most powerful Virgin, Mother of our Savior, keep us close to

you every moment of our lives. Obtain for us, your children, the

grace of a happy death; so that, in union with you, we may

enjoy the bliss of heaven forever. Amen.

O Mary, conceived without sin. Response: Pray for us who have recourse to you. (3 times)

PRAYERS TO THE SACRED HEART

Act of Reparation

Most sweet Jesus, whose overflowing charity for men is

requited by so much forgetfulness, negligence and contempt,

behold us prostrate before you, eager to repair by a special act

of homage the cruel indifference and injuries to which your

loving Heart is everywhere subject. / Mindful alas! That we

ourselves have had a share in such great indignities, which we

now deplore from the depths of our hearts, we humbly ask

your pardon and declare our readiness to atone by voluntary

expiation, not only for our own personal offenses, but also for

the sins of those, who, straying far from the path of salvation

refuse in their obstinate infidelity to follow you, their Shepherd

and Leader, or renouncing the promises of their baptism, have

cast off the yoke of your law. / We are now resolved to expiate

each and every deplorable outrage committed against you; we

are now determined to make amends for the manifold offenses

against Christian modesty in unbecoming dress and behavior,

for all the foul seductions laid to ensnare the feet of the

innocent, for the frequent violations of Sundays and holy days,

and the shocking blasphemies uttered against you and your

Saints. / We wish also to make amends for the insults to which

your Vicar on earth and your priests are subjected, for the

Page 20: Our Lady, Queen of the Holy Family - WordPress.com · 2019. 3. 13. · Our Father - Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth

[19]

profanation, by conscious neglect or terrible acts of sacrilege, of

the very Sacrament of your divine love, and lastly for the public

crimes of nations who resist the rights and teaching authority of

the Church which you have founded. / Would that we were able

to wash away such abominations with our blood. We now offer,

in reparation for these violations of your divine honor, the

satisfaction you once made to your Eternal Father on the cross

and which you continue to renew daily on our altars; we offer it

in union with the acts of atonement of your Virgin Mother and

all the Saints and of the pious faithful on earth; and we

sincerely promise to make recompense, as far as we can with

the help of your grace, for all neglect of your great love and for

the sins we and others have committed in the past. /

Henceforth, we will live a life of unswerving faith, of purity of

conduct, of perfect observance of the precepts of the Gospel

and especially that of chastity. We promise to the best of our

power to prevent others from offending you and to bring as

many as possible to follow you. / O loving Jesus, through the

intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our model in

reparation, deign to receive the voluntary offering we make of

this act of expiation; and by the crowning gift of perseverance

keep us faithful unto death in our duty and the allegiance we

owe to you, so that we may all one day come to that happy

home, where with the Father and the Holy Spirit, you live and

reign, God forever and ever. Amen.

Act of Dedication

Most sweet Jesus, Redeemer of the human race, look down

upon us humbly prostrate before your altar. We are yours, and

yours we wish to be; but to be more surely united with you,

behold, we freely consecrate ourselves today to your Most

Sacred Heart. Many indeed have never known you; many too,

despising your precepts have rejected you. Have mercy on

them all, most merciful Jesus, and draw them to your Sacred

Heart. / Be King, O Lord, not only of the faithful who have never

forsaken you, but also of the prodigal children who have

abandoned you; grant that they may quickly return to their

Father's house, lest they die of wretchedness and hunger. / Be

King of those who are deceived by erroneous opinions, or

whom discord keeps aloof, and call them back to the harbor of

truth and the unity of faith, so that soon there may be but one

flock and one Shepherd. / Grant, O Lord, to your Church

assurance of freedom and immunity from harm; give peace and

order to all nations; and make the earth resound from pole to

pole with one cry: Praise to the divine Heart that wrought our

salvation; to it be glory and honor forever. Amen.

The Consecration to Our Lady

I, (Your Name), a faithless sinner, renew

and ratify today in your hands the vows

of my Baptism: I renounce forever

Satan, his pomps and his works; and I

give myself entirely to Jesus Christ, the

Incarnate Wisdom, to carry my cross

after him all the days of my life, and to

be more faithful to him than I have ever

been before. In the presence of all the

Heavenly Court I choose you this day

for my Mother and my Queen. I deliver

and consecrate to you, as your slave,

my body and soul, my goods, both

interior and exterior, and even the

value of all my good actions, past,

present, and future, leaving to you the entire and full right of

disposing of me, and all that belongs to me, without exception,

according to thy good pleasure, for the greater glory of God, in

time, and in eternity.
