We have a new member of our school family! Seventh grade homeroom and math instructor Mrs. Laura Miller and her husband, Jason Orr, welcomed little Zinley Marie to the world yesterday afternoon. Weighing 8 lbs. 11 oz. and at 19.5 in. long, she is little sister to Zachary and Zadie. Congratulations to the Orr family and their littlest angel! Choral Fest Don't forget--tomorrow night from 6:30-7:15 pm, we will get you in a joyful spirit as you enjoy our beginning band, fourth grade recorder performance and Kindergarten to fifth grade singers. Students are to report to the Cafe at 6:10 pm while parents, grandparents and guests head to the gym. Students should dress nicely, but it is not a formal event. No jeans, please. Seventh Grade Families Please pick up your tickets for the Capital for the Capitol fundraiser raffle for the 2015 eighth grade trip on Thurs., April 16 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm, in the pedway. A huge thank you to Angela Murphy, Sarah Hughes, Rikki McGuire, Laurie Slusser, and Sarah Carver who scrambled to get this fundrasier together. Students and parents must pick up the packet together during this time frame. Please call the school office if you have questions. Our Newly Located Library Take a bow, Stephanie Martin, Kim Caruso and John Martin for your hours of work and energy to move our library to a room off the primary hall for better access and use. Thank you to our students who pro- vided manual labor and made fast work of moving boxes of books! Your service was a great help! With a fresh coat of paint and carpet, we'll be ready to show this off for the 2015-16 school year. Library will resume as usual from this new space on Friday. PTO Book Fair and Used Uniform Sale See the PTO flier for more details, but you won't want to miss Family Night tonight in Wagner Hall. You can never have too many books! Make reading time a priority for your whole family! Turn off those electronics for 30 minutes each night and read! Happy News to Share! We have a new member of our school family! Outstanding Debt Obligation With the end of the 2014-15 school year quickly approaching, it is essential that all outstanding debts (i.e. tuition, afterschool care, cafe, etc) be paid in full before the last day of school. Reports cards will not be mailed to families with outstanding debt. If you have questions or need a balance due, please call the school office at 812-944-7676.

Absences Our students are still missing days because of viruses going around. Please do not send your child to school until they have been fever-free and not experienc-ing vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours.

Pre-registration for Next School Year Please send in your pre-registration form and check to ensure your child’s enrollment for next year. Pre-registration fee is $75 per child, and the pre-registration form is attached.

Parish Stewardship Intention Cards Due To qualify for parishioner tuition rates next school year, please send your Parish Stewardship Intention Form back to the Church Office as soon as possible. Thank you!

Looking for Tuition Help for Next Year?

Today's newsletter includes information on the Indiana Choice Scholarship (Voucher) and the SGO Scholarship Program. Please check to see if you qualify for one of these. If you do, you may apply online with Mrs. Horton in late April or May after tuition for next year has been set and accepted at the state level. Mrs. Horton will need a copy of the first two pages of your 2014 tax return for proof of income. If you are not

sure if you qualify or if you have questions, please contact Mrs. Horton at [email protected].

Summer Solutions Workbooks for Math & Language Arts

Parents, you have an opportunity to order practice workbooks for your child to use this summer. The books are available at all grade levels and for several subject areas. Information on how to order can be found attached to this newsletter. The books will be delivered to us before the last day of school and will be sent home with your child. Orders are due to be placed by May 3rd.

ISTEP+ Part 2

The second round of ISTEP+ testing occurs during the three week window from April 27 through May 15. Because this test is online, each class in

grades 3-8 will test at different times. Grades 3-5 will test in the computer lab, and grades 6-8 will test on iPads. Please watch for the testing schedule

times from each homeroom teacher for specific times, and please make every effort possible to have your child at school on testing days. Thanks!!

School Choice Scholarships (vouchers) and SGO Scholarships

Our Lady participates in the Indiana School Choice Scholarship (voucher) Program which helps fam-ilies pay for tuition and fees using state tax dollars.

To be eligible, a student must satisfy each of the following initial requirements: 1. Have legal settlement in Indiana.

2. Be between the ages of 5 and 22 no later than August 1 of the school year.

3. Be accepted for enrollment into a participating Choice Scholarship school. 4. Meet income guidelines established by the state. After satisfying the initial requirements listed above, there are seven different pathways that a student can satisfy to become eligible to participate in the Choice Scholarship Program. A student must satisfy only one of the seven pathways to be eligible.

A. Continuing Choice Scholarship Student Pathway

The student received a Choice Scholarship in the school year that immediately precedes the school year for which the student is applying for a Choice Scholarship.

B. Previous Choice Scholarship Student Pathway

The student received a Choice Scholarship in a school year that does not immediately precede the school year for which the student is applying for a Choice Scholarship, or the student received a Choice Scholarship in the immediately preceding school year, but the student exited the Choice School prior to the end of the school year.

C. Previous SGO Award Pathway

The student received an SGO Scholarship in a preceding school year, including a school year that does not immediately precede the school year for which the student is applying for a Choice Scholarship.

D. Special Education Pathway

The student has a disability that requires special education and an individualized education program (IEP) .

E. “F” Public School Pathway

The student would be required to attend a specific public school based on their residence that has been assigned an “F” grade.

F. Two-Semesters in Public School Pathway

The student was enrolled in kindergarten through grade 12 in a public school, including a charter school, in Indiana for at least two semesters immediately preceding the first semester for which the indi-vidual receives a Choice Scholarship.

G. Sibling Pathway

The sibling of the newly applying student received either a Choice Scholarship or an SGO scholarship in a preceding school year, including a school year that does not immediately precede the school year for which the student is applying for a Choice Scholarship.

Our Lady provides private funding for the SGO Scholarship Program. The school granting SGO

Scholarships determines the eligibility for the SGO. At Our Lady, families who fall below the 175%

Free/Reduced lunch income level but do not qualify for a voucher may qualify for a one-time $500

scholarship for each child in kindergarten-grade 8. After one year, families can qualify for vouchers if

the annual household income is at or below the 150% Free/Reduced lunch rate. SGO income guide-

lines are:

applications will begin in late April.
