Message from Our Pastor

My Dear Family of Our Lady of Lourdes,
Communication technology is one of the fasting changing and ever
expanding aspects of modern life. It has been almost five years since
we first started the Communications Team and I would now like to
invite you to join us and help us update and expand our efforts. The
pastoral plan for our Communications Team includes three phases:
reviewing what we are currently doing, building on what is to design
an integrated system of communications that can take us forward and
help us be more effective in ministry, and shepherding the
progressive implementation of the new systems. This is an ambitious
endeavor that is ever new.
Is the Lord calling you to work with us on the Communications
Team? We could especially use the help of those who have
education and experience in graphic design, marketing, social media,
and advertising. We have over 50 parish groups and ministries and
many have found it difficult to get their good news out to both those
who could use their help and also to us who might want to join in
their work. I would like our Communications Team to focus now on
helping them “communicate”.
While it is true that we need the help of those of us who already know
this work well, I would also like to invite our youth to volunteer in
this effort. You are often much more aware of how to make use of
social media and can help us expand our conversation not only
among ourselves but also with our brothers and sisters throughout
Miami. Please don’t be shy about coming forward and joining the
effort!
Anyone interested in joining the Communications Team can just send
me an email at [email protected]. Later next month I will call us
all together and then we’re off…

Mi Querida Familia de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes,
La tecnología en comunicación es uno de los aspectos de la vida
moderna que cambia rápidamente y está en constante expansión. Han
pasado casi cinco años desde que empezamos el Equipo de
Comunicaciones y ahora me gustaría invitarle a usted a unirse a
nosotros y ayudarnos a actualizar y ampliar nuestros esfuerzos. El plan
pastoral para nuestro Equipo de Comunicación incluye tres fases: la
revisión de lo que estamos haciendo actualmente, en base a lo que es el
diseño de un sistema integrado de comunicaciones que nos puede llevar
hacia adelante y ayudar a ser más efectivos en el ministerio, y proteger
la aplicación progresiva de los nuevos sistemas. Este es un esfuerzo
ambicioso que es siempre nuevo.
¿Está el Señor llamándote a trabajar con nosotros en el Equipo de
Comunicaciones? Especialmente nos vendría bien la ayuda de aquellos
que tienen educación y experiencia en diseño gráfico, mercadeo, medios
de comunicación social y publicidad. Contamos con más de 50 grupos
parroquiales y ministerios y muchos han tenido dificultades para
conseguir llevar su mensaje tanto a los que pudieran utilizar su ayuda,
como también a nosotros que pudiéramos querer unirnos a su trabajo.
Quisiera que nuestro Equipo de Comunicación se concentre ahora en
ayudarlos a "comunicarse".
Si bien es cierto que necesitamos la ayuda de aquellos de nosotros que
ya conocen bien este trabajo, también me gustaría invitar a nuestros
jóvenes a ser voluntarios en este esfuerzo. A menudo están mucho más
conscientes de cómo hacer uso de los medios sociales y pueden
ayudarnos a expandir nuestra conversación no sólo entre nosotros, sino
también con nuestros hermanos y hermanas de todo Miami. ¡Por favor,
no tenga miedo de presentarse y participar en este esfuerzo!
