Desire God. Disciple People.
Devote Ourselves to Serve.
FIRST CHRONICLES July 28, 2019
Pray. Give. Go Our “Pray. Give. Go.” focus for July is the First Baptist Church Destin. Here are the ways you can partner with FBC Destin. PRAY: 1. Pray for the children’s Sun-
day school teachers of FBC Destin.
2. Pray for a youth pastor to come and minister to stu-dents in Destin.
3. Pray for the upcoming high school construction across the street from FBC Destin, and for service opportuni-ties with the high school.
GIVE: FBC Destin is working to build a playground on campus. By hav-ing a playground on campus, FBC Destin can involve young families of Destin with the church. The playground will pro-vide church members with op-portunities to serve involving young children and their par-ents. By giving funds to FBC Des-tin, the playground can be built.
GO: Pray about serving FBC Destin on a mission trip this fall. On the trip, volunteers will work to construct the playground on FBC Destin’s campus, serving alongside a sister church as one body of Christ.

Prayer unleashes the power believers need to do the work that God calls us to. In The Upper Room each Sunday morning, prayer partners pray for every detail of the worship services and for those involved. As we begin two morning worship services on August 4, there
are time slots for both services throughout August and September. Prayer partners are a married couple, two or more women, or two or more men who choose their Sunday to pray. Each week Pastor Scott provides a sermon summary outlining the scripture and message for the morning as well as specific prayer points to
help guide your prayer time. If you are interested in more information about The Upper Room, please contact Bethany Timmerman at 931-319-1329 or [email protected]. Sign up at fbccookeville.org. For those who do not want to sign up online, there is a calendar posted outside The Upper Room where anyone can sign up by hand or you can sign up with Bethany.
UPPER ROOM
PRAY FOR SERVICE IN UPPER ROOM IN AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER
Park View Elementary School is less than one mile away from Cookeville First Baptist Church. For many of the kids at this school, school meals may be the only meal they eat. We have the perfect opportunity to meet this tangible need and share the love of Christ through the Backpack Program. The Backpack Program helps these children get nutritious and easy-to-prepare food they need to get enough to eat on the weekends. First Baptist has been part of this ministry for many years now.
Throughout the month of August we’ll provide snacks for these bags as well as pack backpacks. The last time we packed backpacks we were feeding 175 children and that number could very well increase with the new school year. That’s at least 350 snacks a week we need for the backpacks. Bring individually packaged snacks to include in these bags and place them in the designated baskets around the church or drop
them off in the church office. Some healthy snack suggestions are granola bars, nuts, peanut butter crackers and dried fruit. Groups and/or individuals are needed to pack backpacks. If you would like to help with packing backpacks contact Ann Hertzfeldt at 260-8653.
