Our Beloved Teacher- Favorite
cooking-
memory of
Mrs. Nedrow- Canned
Pickled
Bananas!
DYL
As some of you may
know, Mrs. Luann Nedrow re-
tired last June. Recently after
the last day of school in June,
she was diagnosed with can-
cer. And now we have very
sad news to tell you that Mrs.
Nedrow passed away on
Sunday, September 24th.
Our school and the Grantham
Boosters originally organized
a Spaghetti Feed to happen on October 9th to support
her and help her with her medical bills. Well,
Grantham Staff & the Boosters still want to support
Mrs. Nedrow’s husband with all of that. So please
come to the silent Auction & Spaghetti Feed!
Mrs. Nedrow worked here at our school for 39 years
as a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade teacher and one year
3rd/4th. We will miss her dearly. We hope
to see you October 9th to celebrate and
honor Mrs. Luann Nedrow!

Adult Interview– Mrs. Nikki Katus!
You will know Mrs. Katus because she was Miss Van Leuven in the recent past! We wanted you to know that Miss Van Leuven just got married on September 15th! And so now she is Mrs. Katus! Her husbands name is Chris! Congratulate your new Mrs. Katus! We asked her how kin-dergarten is going and she said she has 21 Kinders this year! We asked her if she is still enjoying teaching the kinders and she said, “Yes!” So if you see her in the hall say, “Hi Mrs. Katus!” This is Jaiden B & Sophia R. with more news to come soon! Have a good weekend!

A NOTE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL:
We are sad to have one of our Life Long Grizzlies pass
away. Mrs. Nedrow taught many children in her 39
year career here at Grantham. We will miss her
deeply. If anyone, you yourself or any in your family
needs to come in and talk about Mrs. Nedrow, our
door is open. She fought a tough battle
and in the end she has won, because
she is most likely head teacher there
now! Have GRIT Grizzlies! This
is what she would want! G R R

FALL PUZZLES

1.) Kindergarten Color Days! Back by popular demand are Kindergarten Color Days! Every fall, as the kinders are learning their colors, we like to do a “Color Day” that corre-sponds with each color. The kinders wear the col-ors as well as the staff. The staff wears the color of the day to show support for our kindergarteners, and to just join in on the fun! We already had Red Day, Blue Day, Day, Green Day, Orange Day, Purple Day, and we just had Pink Day! If you want to wear one of the colors in October, follow the dates below: Tuesday, October 2nd – Gray Day, Thursday, October 4th – Brown Day, Tuesday, October 9th – Black Day, Tuesday, October 16th – White Day.
Have fun with the colors and thanks for helping the Kinders
learn theirs! This is what we call community, working together to help others!
2.) SmileMobile The SmileMobile dental clinic has been here this past week, Sept. 24 -28, 2018.
They were open to all children, birth – high school and pregnant women. The Smile-
Mobil workers did exams, e-rays,
cleaned, sealed, filled or did sim-
ple extractions! Those they
helped, were given a break on the
cost also!
Thanks to Arcora Foundation who was in partnership
with the Seattle Children’s Hospital and their workers
who helped our children with their teeth this week! Den-
tal health is very important!
3.) Spaghetti Dinner Please, come to the Spaghetti Dinner here at Grantham in honor of a very
special teacher, Mrs. Nedrow. We lost her to cancer on September 24th ,
fighting like a Grizzly with dignity. She loved teaching w/her whole heart!
Remember this Date and come help with this fundraiser!
October 9th, 2018 - 5:30pm – 7:00pm. Dinner Cost: $5.00-Adults, $3.00-Kids, $15.00-Family of 4, $20.00-Family
of 5. Baskets for the silent auction to bid on will be made by the staff
