The Value of Membership at the YMCA
Our friendly and welcoming facilities and services provide opportunities for entire families and individuals of allages to be active together. We are proud to be an active contributor to building healthy communities. Membership
includes all program fees and drop-in activities unless otherwise specified in program descriptions or on our schedule.This means unlimiteddrop-in programs and fitness classes, lane swims, family and rec swims, gym time, recreationalsports, usage of day lockers and change rooms, and Canada-wide YMCA usage! Membership also gives you the
opportunity to register for programs before non-members, and discounted rates on specialty programs.
CONDITIONING CENTRE ORIENTATIONSMembership includes a FREE orientation to the Conditioning Centre, and the development of a personalized program
with one of our qualified fitness staff. Orientations introduce members to our wide range of equipment. We take intoaccount your medical history and help you set realistic, achievable goals.
MEMBERSHIP FEES & DESCRIPTIONSPlease inquire at the Membership Services Desk or refer to our YMCA Membership Brochure for further details on ratesand benefits of membership. Note: Please bring a VOID cheque with you to sign up for a membership, unless you wishto pay annually.
YMCA MEMBERSHIP FEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
As a charitable organization, the YMCA is committed to being accessible to all members of our community. Our YMCAMembership Fee Assistance Program assists those who are unable to afford the full cost of membership. To apply for
assistance, inquire at the Membership Services Desk. All inquiries will be held in confidence.
Membership Add-Ons
TOWEL SERVICEMembers may add towel service to their membership, the fee is $12 per month. Others can also enjoy the use of ourtowels for a fee of $1.50 each time.
PERSONAL & SEMI-PRIVATE TRAINING
One-on-one fitness training for those that have reached a sticky point, want extra motivation, have health concerns,injury rehabilitation, weight loss, sport specific training, etc. Fitness evaluations are also available. Package ratesavailable for multiple sessions. Would you rather train with a friend or a partner? Semi-private training is a great wayto stay motivated and save money. If your goals and physical ability are similar, exercise together!

ETIQUETTE STATEMENTThe YMCA is a shared experience for everyone to enjoy. Each of us can make it better for all by being considerate to
others. YMCA members, staff, participants, guests and volunteers pledge to treat one another with respect and dig-nity. The YMCA reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend or refuse services for inappropriate behaviour.
CELL PHONE USAGE: Please do not talk on a cell phone when working out in the Conditioning Centre or participating
in a class. If you need to be reached by phone and receive a call, please step out of the room when returning it.
USE OF CAMERAS: To protect members privacy, cameras (all types) are not permitted in the YMCA withoutpermission from staff.

General YMCA Policies
PROGRAM CANCELLATIONSClasses may be combined or cancelled due to insufficient registration (full refunds will be given for cancelled
programs). Classes may be cancelled due to inclement weather / unforeseen circumstances and will not be made up.
MEMBERSHIP CANCELLATIONSMonthly memberships are continuous unless the YMCA receives written notice for cancellation 10 days prior to
withdrawal date. Memberships can not be cancelled over the phone.
Membership refunds on annual memberships are given for valid medical reasons only. If you move, your membership
can be transferred to your new YMCA.
REFUND POLICYProgram fees are refundable prior to start date of first class.
Advanced Aquatic and First Aid Course fees are refundable up to two weeks prior to start date. Refunds will not begiven on or after the start date except for valid medical reasons.
See above for Membership refunds.
Note:Medical reasons require a doctors note. A service charge of $10.00 is applicable for every refund.
Using the Conditioning Centre
AGE REQUIREMENTS: Members must be age 16 and over to use the Conditioning Centre. Teens ages 12-15 may usethe rooms upon successful completion of our Teen Weight Training Course.
CLOTHING: Comfort and safety is the key to choosing your clothing. As a minimum, the YMCA requires that you wear
closed toe running shoes, t-shirts and tights, shorts or sweat pants. Please avoid wearing overly revealing clothing.Gym bags and jackets are not allowed in the Conditioning Centre.
CHANGE ROOMS: Please lock your belongings in a locker, bags are not allowed upstairs in the Conditioning Room.Locks are available for purchase from the Membership Services Desk. You may not leave a lock on a locker overnight.Locks left on day use lockers will be cut off nightly. Do not leave your keys in a coat pocket unattended. Key andWallet Lockers are available for use. The Y is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.
CARDIO EQUIPMENT USAGE:To ensure all members have fair access to equipment, a 20 minute limit is applied tothe use to cardio equipment during peak times.
WEIGHT TRAINING EQUIPMENT:Please be considerate to fellow members by not staying on equipment betweensets. Allow other people to work through. When others are waiting to use strength training equipment, offer to sharebetween sets. It is imperative that after you use weights and equipment, you put them away. This ensures that the
space is then ready for everyone to workout. Please do not drop weights.
CLEANING EQUIPMENT:To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and safety for everyone, whether it is weights,cardio equipment or mats to stretch on, please use the spray and cloths provided to clean the equipment after use.
Spray the cleaner on the cloth and then clean the equipment.
Open Gym Times
During Open Gym times, an adult must accompany and directly supervise children less than 10 years of age.

Stay n Play Babysitting ServiceDrop your child off while you attend a fitness class or work out in ourconditioning centre! Services are available throughout program sessions with
the exception of Statutory Holidays. Refer to our current Program Schedulefor available days and times.

gym play or crafts. Various packages are available to suit your needs. Parties include up to

First Aid Courses
STANDARD FIRST AID / CPR-C / AED (12 years +)This Red Cross certification course includes adult, child & infant CPR and AED (Automated External Defibrillator)certification. It also teaches how to treat life-threatening injuries including burns, bleeding & breaks. WSIB approved.
Certification is valid for 3 years.
STANDARD FIRST AID / CPR-C / AED RECERTRecertification for your original Standard First Aid and CPR course. Note: You must have taken a FULLRed Cross
standard first aid course within the past 3 years in order to recertify. If you recertified last time, sign up for the
FULL course this time. If you took any other course other than Red Cross First Aid and are due for recertification (i.e.Lifesaving Society, Heart & Stroke, St. Johns, etc.), you must take the FULL course this time.
Volunteer Opportunities
You can help us make a difference! Opportunities are available in the pool, with child and teen programs, and inthe conditioning centre, fitness classes and administration. Must be 12 years old and up (adults welcome too) andhave a satisfactory police records check. Volunteer applications are available at the Membership Services Desk or atymcaowensound.on.ca. What a great way to complete high school requirements for community hours!

Fitness Certification Courses
INDIVIDUAL CONDITIONING Level 1This course is a stepping stone to start your path to becoming a volunteer, personal trainer here in our Y. This
knowledge will introduce you to the concepts of functional and motor fitness. We will summarize the benefits ofstrength training, at the same time teaching you what the Y is really all about!
FITNESS INSTRUCTOR (Basic Theory)National YMCA Fitness Instructor Basic Theory. A prerequisite for Group (choreography based, cycle, stretch &core, resistance training), Individual (strength & conditioning), or Aquafit Leaders certification. 100% attendance isrequired.
Aquatic Leadership
Put your training to use! We are always looking for qualified Lifeguards & Swimming Instructors to work with us!The minimum qualificationsto work in YMCA Aquatics (including the Harrison Park Pools), include: 14 years of age,current Bronze Cross and current Standard First Aid & CPR-C and have completed Pre-NLS. Applicants who have
current National Lifeguard and/or Assistant Swimming Instructor certification will be given preference. Submit resume

BASE CERTIFICATIONS
BRONZE STAR & BASIC FIRST AID (with CPR-A): Designed for candidates who have completed
regular lessons and want to expand their lifesaving knowledge. This course is recommendedbefore entering Bronze Medallion. Prerequisites: 11 years old by first day of course
BRONZE MEDALLION & EMERGENCY FIRST AID (with CPR-B): Candidates develop leadership,lifesaving and self-rescue skills as well as judgment, knowledge and physical fitness necessaryfor water rescue. Training in CPR, choking, bleeding & shock. This course is the prerequisite to
Bronze Cross.Prerequisites: 13 years old by last day (proof of age required), Bronze Star is recommended
BRONZE CROSS & STANDARD FIRST AID (with CPR-C):Receive an introduction to supervision
in aquatic facilities, learn techniques for the rescue & treatment of others (including spinal injurymanagement) and develop teamwork. Adult, child & infant choking & CPR techniques are alsotaught. This course is the prerequisite for all advanced training. This course is offered in the fall,
spring and summer sessions. Prerequisites: 14 years old by last day of course, Bronze Medallion& Emergency First Aid (proof of prerequisites required)
LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION
PRE-NLS:This course will challenge those who have taken Bronze Cross but are not old enoughto take NLS. Better your chance of being hired at the Y! Candidates receive a $20 credit note to
use towards future courses. Prerequisites:14 years old, Bronze Cross
NATIONAL LIFEGUARD (previously called NLS):This course is required if you want to bea Lifeguard. An intense, nationally recognized Lifeguard certification program that trains
candidates in water rescue, emergency care & aquatic supervision.Prerequisites: 16 years old by last day, Bronze Cross, Standard First Aid, CPR level C (check your
certification card carefully First Aid must be Red Cross, St. Johns or Lifesaving Society).100% attendance required all days
SWIMMING INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION
ASSISTANT SWIMMING INSTRUCTOR (YMCA & RED CROSS): Introduction to teaching
swimming lessons and hands on experience working with an Instructor. This is a prerequisite tothe Swimming Instructor Course. 20 hours of volunteer instruction is required between course
weekends. This course is offered once per year - usually in the summer.Prerequisites: 15 years old by last day, Bronze Cross
YMCA SWIMMING INSTRUCTOR:Learn the theories and methods behind teaching swimming
lessons. Refine leadership skills and learn strategies for effective supervision. If you want toteach swimming lessons at the Y or Harrison Park pools, you must take this course. This course
is offered once per year in the fall session. Prerequisites:16 years old by last day, Bronze Cross,Assistant Swimming Instructor certification, Standard First Aid, CPR level C.100% attendance required all days
LIFESAVING INSTRUCTOR: The Lifesaving Society Lifesaving Instructor course preparesindividuals to organize, plan, teach and evaluate lifesaving and first aid skills and resuscitation
techniques in the Society s lifesaving and first aid awards.

General Program Information
CHILD MEMBERSHIP:Includes 1 swim lesson and 1 non-swim program; or 2 non-swim programs each session.
Preschool Adventure and Surf & Turf programs each equal 1 swim and 1 non-swim program. Unlimitedparticipation in drop-in programs, family swims, rec swims & open times are included with membership.
AGE REQUIREMENTS:Please note that children 0-5 years must be turning the required minimum age on or before
the start date of the program. Children 6 years and up must be turning the minimum required age before the end ofthe program in order to participate.
SWIMMING COMPONENT:The swimming portion of the Preschool Adventure and the Surf & Turf programs is gearedtowards your childs ability level. We teach Bobbers, Floaters, Gliders, Divers, Surfers & Dippers swimming lessoncriteria within these programs.
ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS: Pay of the non-member fee for each additional program you wish to register for.
WAITING LISTS:If your chosen program is full for the current session, you may join the waiting list, as well as beregistered into a space in the next scheduled session (if available). If space in the current session becomes available,
you will be provided the opportunity to register. If you choose to be registered in the current session, you would beun-registered from the same program in the next scheduled session.
ATTENDANCE:If a child does not attend three classes in a row, a replacement from the waiting list may be contacted.

Safety and Behaviour Information
We ask that parents not sit in while programs are taking place unless it is a parented program. Children do not givetheir full attention to the program or the Instructor when the parent is present. Please speak to the Instructor after the
class about any questions you may have.
SAFETY CONCERNS: Children should wear clean running shoes, not socks or bare feet, for all gym-based programs.
HEALTH CONCERNS: If your child has medical or behavioural concerns, please let us know at the time of registration.If your child has special needs and has a worker at school, it is necessary for extra assistance in our programs as well.Please keep us informed so we can help your child to have the best possible experience.
BEHAVIOUR IN PROGRAMS:If a situation arises where a participant threatens the safety of another participant orshows disregard for Y rules, we will inform the parents and work together to resolve the situation. If the behaviourcontinues, the participant may be asked to leave the program. Program refunds will NOT be issued.
EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANTS (E.A.): If your child has an E.A. at school who assists with behavioural concerns, they arerequired to have someone assist them in YMCA programs and swimming lessons. Parents are required to make these
arrangements for their children. Failure to do so may result in immediate dismissal.
BEHAVIOUR IN CHANGE ROOMS: It is not possible for us to constantly staff our change rooms to monitor behaviour.Please speak to your child about appropriate behaviour while in our change rooms. Inappropriate behaviour such as
bullying, horseplay and vandalism will not be tolerated. If you are the same gender as your child, please assist withtheir passage through the change room.
PERSONAL BELONGINGS: Please lock all your belongings in your locker. Locks are available for purchase from ourMembership Services Desk. Locks left on day use lockers will be cut off nightly. Child & TeenRegistered Program DescriptionsPRESCHOOL ADVENTURE: Come and play with us! Enjoy a half-hour each of songs & games, craft time and swimming instruc-
tion with qualified Swimming Instructors.
SURF & TURF: Come have fun with one of our instructors. Land time may include gym play, games, songs and more. All this funis followed by a swim lesson.
KUNG FU: Hung gar Kung Fu is a practical, traditional form of martial arts that not only educates an effective and efficient style
of self defense, but also history, philosophy and ethics. Sesu Trevor Uitvlugt instructing. The YMCA offers Beginner and AdvancedWhite Levels (ages 7-15yrs) and Adult White Level (16yrs+).
KID PROOF SAFETY EDUCATION (5-14 yrs):This is an educational series that teaches kids how to be safe in a variety ofsituations. Children may participate in all of the topics for their age group or attend just one or two. Registration per topic isrequired. Topics include: walking to school, bullying, online safety, staying home alone and more.
TEENS & WEIGHTS (12-15 yrs) Learn the basics of proper weight training. Successful completion allows you access to the con-ditioning room. On your first day, you will receive a punch card. Each successful 1 hour session = 1 punch. 8 hours of training isrequired to fill the card. Once your card is full, you will receive your toe tag. Registration is ongoing.
FAMILY FOLK DANCE (Parent & Child): Join May Ip, an accomplished instructor, to learn folk dances from Eastern Europe andAsia Minor. No experience necessary. A great and fun way to be active with your family!
BABYSITTING COURSE (12 yrs.+): A certification course that teaches babysitters about accident prevention, basics in first aid,
infant and child care, as well as games and activities to play with children.
PD DAYS: Spend your time with us we always have tons of fun! Programs are scheduled to run on School Board ProfessionalActivity Days and are geared for children ages 4 years old in JK to 12 years old.

Adult FitnessRegistered Program Descriptions
YMCA USE IT & LOSE IT:The YMCA presents a weight shrink challenge. Members work out with an instructor twice per week.The small group setting and variety of exercises allows for great results and hands on motivation. Fun, prizes, and much more!Get that body moving!
CARDIO SKIP: Skipping is more than kids fun; it is the ultimate fitness tool. After trying this workout you will be convinced aswell. Join us for a 30 minute mix of skipping and strength training. Join us in this 9 week class. Space is limited so make sure you
register early to reserve your spot!
STRENGTH TRAINING 101:The focus of this 6 week course is on putting what you have learned and building a new routine ofphysical activity including proper posture, form and execution of movement with our helpful staff assisting you along the way
towards reaching your goal. The course will also introduce new exercises, focus on free weights and what else the facility has tooffer.
FOLK DANCE LESSONS: Join May Ip, an accomplished instructor, to learn folk dances from Eastern Europe and Asia Minor. No
experience necessary. A great and fun way to be active!
TAI CHI 1:Tai Chi is a series of 108 slow, graceful movements developed in the 12th century by a Taoist monk. All at the sametime, it is a health exercise, a method of meditation and a martial art. Here we will emphasize the health aspects of this art. The
movements are specially designed to relieve stress and fatigue while developing strength, flexibility and concentration.
Tai Chi 1 is designed for those who are taking Tai Chi for the first time. In Tai Chi 1, participants will learn approximately 30 movesbefore moving onto Tai Chi 2. Each new move builds on previously learned moves. This Tai Chi is the Yang style.
TAI CHI 2:A class designed for those who are part way through learning the 108 move set. If you are currently in Tai Chi 2,
consult with your instructor to determine which Tai Chi 2 time slot you should register in. Prerequisite: Tai Chi 1
TAI CHI 3: A class designed for those who have learned the whole set of 108 moves. Prerequisites: Tai Chi 1 & 2
NIA: Nia is an exhilarating movement and lifestyle practice. It is the first cardio workout to combine martial arts, dance, and

FAMILY FUN (parent and child): Spend family time being active at the Y! Enjoy a variety of activities together including gym
time and swimming! We even have a time for families with older children to workout in our conditioning centre. An adult mustaccompany and directly supervise children at all times.
STORY FUN:Do you like to read stories? Do you like to do crafts? Lets put them together! We will read a book and then make acraft based on the story we have read.
ACTIVE KIDS: We will play a variety of games, sports and fitness activities something different each week! Fair play and sports-
manship will be emphasized. Learn new skills and have fun with your peers!
KIDS PLAY: Are you looking for a fun, safe place for your kids to be while you work out? Leave them with us! Well make crafts,play board games, or use the Wii system! This allows parents, to work out in our conditioning room or take part in a fitness class.
Parents must remain in the building and sign children in and out.
KUNG FU DROP-IN: For ages 7-15years who have completed the Advanced White LevelsCRAFTY KIDS:Mess up our space by making seasonal and holiday crafts. We will paint, draw, glue, and create beautiful pieces
of art. Get your hands dirty and have fun!
FLOOR HOCKEY:If you like hockey, this is the place to be! Join us in the gym for skill development and scrimmages with yourpeers. Sportsmanship and fair play are key.
KIDS CLUB (4-7 years & 8-12 years):Children will be separated into age categories during program in order to meet age-specific needs.Meet your friends at the Y onFriday nights for sports, crafts & games. 8-12 year olds will also enjoy a swim (4-7 year olds will get all their energy out in the

YOUTH FITNESS CIRCUITS:Come into the gym with one of our fitness staff and begin by learning the basics of fitness training.
You may use weights, physio balls and tubing. A great introduction class to lead into teen weight training.
KID FIT:This class will incorporate a variety of fun, physical activities to get kids moving!
SOCCER: Organized soccer skills, drills and games for ages 7-12 years.
BASKETBALL: Drop-in co-ed recreational basketball.
PICKLE BALL: Pickle ball is a racquet sport which combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. There are key dif-ferences that make pickle ball more accessible to a wider range of players, particularly seniors. Among these differences are: the
speed of the ball which moves at 1/3 of the average speed of a tennis ball, and the size of the court which is just under 1/3 of thetotal area of a tennis court. A great activity for allages.

GENTLE GRAVITY: Gentle Gravity provides a full-body workout with less intensity in 30 minutes than our traditional Gravityclass. Our instructors will take you through gentle and easy transitions between exercises delivering body shaping results.
GRAVITY: This is a fun and innovative 30 minute workout that provides full body conditioning using the Gravity Training System.
This workout has the function of an adjustable incline plane and gravity resistance! All fitness levels welcome. Classes are lim-ited to 10 so come early.

About the Pools
LANE POOLOur lane pool is an 8 lane, 25 meter pool. Our shallow end is 1.2 meters (4 feet) deep and our deep end is 3.07 meters(10 feet) deep. It is fully accessible by ramp. There is a slide for use during Rec Swims by those who are able to pass
our deep end swim test. The temperature is maintained between 83 and 84 degrees F.
LEISURE POOLOur Leisure Pool has a variety of water features for you to enjoy! Try out the bubblers, the whale tail, the launch pod or
the water tunnel for some added fun, or relax on our therapy bench which has jets at both low back and foot heights.
The pool is fully accessible by ramp and also has large steps as access to the shallow end. The deepest point is 1.3meters (4.2 feet). The warmer temperature is maintained between 90 and 92 degrees F.
Medical Conditions
Those with serious medical conditions should be accompanied by an individual who is knowledgeable of theircondition and responsible for their direct supervision. Your medical doctor should be consulted before swimming.Please advise the Lifeguards or Instructors of any medical conditions that you are aware of. If you have medicationsuch as an Epi-pen or asthma inhaler, please bring it on the pool deck with you.
When accompanying children in the pool, we ask that you stay close to them. The Lifesaving Society of Canada says

Pool Admission Requirements
SWIMMERS MUST BE 10 YEARS OLD TO SWIM BY THEMSELVES
Swimmers who are 6-9 years old: Must pass the swim test to swim alone (see Lifeguard for swim testrequirements; OR can be accompanied in the water and directly supervised within arms reach by a parent/
guardian who is 14 years of age or older with the following ratios of supervisors to swimmers: 1 supervisor to 4swimmers not wearing life jackets; 1 supervisor to 8 swimmers wearing life jackets
To Swim in the Deep End of the Lane Pool: Regardless of age, swimmers must pass the swim test to swim in the
lane pool deep end. Lifeguards have the right to restrict deep end use according to swimming ability. Use of lifejackets or other flotation devices in the deep end is not permitted.
Swim Test: Must be able to swim 1 width of the lane pool using proper front crawl or breaststroke without
stopping in order to swim unaccompanied during rec or open swims; or to swim in the deep end of the lane pool.
Swimmers who are 0-5 years old: Must be accompanied in the water and directly supervised within arms
length at all times by a parent or guardian 14 years of age or older regardless of swimming ability (1 supervisor to2 swimmers).

SWIM TIPS (Lane Pool): A time for swimmers looking to fine tune their swimming strokes. One of our Instructors can offer basicstroke improvement techniques during your lane swim. Note: this is not a lesson or learn-to-swim program.
LENGTHS (Lane Pool):This time is reserved for those who wish to swim lengths of the pool. Slow, medium, fast and leisure
lanes are designated. We ask that participants please swim in a loop to avoid collisions and over-crowding.
ADULT SWIM (18 years +):Spend part of your afternoon in the pool! Two lanes are designated for length swimming in the lanepool and the rest is available to use as you like!
FAMILY FUN (Parent and Child):Enjoy swimming as a family! Have fun with the spray water features in the leisure pool includ-ing a whale tail! Toys and equipment are available for use. an aquafit class while your baby safely sits in one of our floating dolphin seats in the water beside you. Head to the leisure poolafter class for Family Fun! Babies must be at least 6 months old and be able to hold their head up.
JOINTS IN MOTION (Leisure Pool): Let the water ease you! Gentle stretching, range of motion & mobility exercises for muscle
or joint injuries, post-surgery recovery or arthritis. Calming music to help you relax. Enjoy our sauna afterwards!
GENTLE AQUAFIT (Leisure Pool):Learn basic moves to create the whole new aquatic experience that focuses on techniques toimprove posture, breathing, flexibility, core stabilization, coordination and muscular endurance using the soothing properties of
the water.
AQUAFIT (Lane Pool): Increase your cardiovascular strength, endurance, flexibility and muscle tone with the benefits of low im-pact exercise! Swimming skills are not required and there is no need to get your hair wet! 45 minute classes are set at a begin-
ner to intermediate pace; 30 minute classes are set at an intermediate to advanced pace.
DEEP AQUAFIT (Lane Pool): Excellent core strengthening (abdominals & back), in a no impact, high endurance environment!Flotation belts are used for support. Set at an intermediate to advanced pace. Must be comfortable in deep water.
H2O RUN (Deep Water) (Lane Pool):This class provides a great alternative workout with lots of variety for runners, triathletesand anyone looking for a new way to improve fitness levels. It is a combination of cardiovascular strength and endurance andprovides the opportunity for VO2 max training. Participants will be tethered to a lane rope for resistance training and wear a
swim belt for support to allow for focus on muscle efficiency and use of the water as a training tool.

Wealso have a male youth change room andfemale youth change room for participantsless than 18 years of age. Same genderparents may accompany children in theyouth change rooms. Children age 6 andolder must use gender appropriate changerooms. We ask that participants wait in theirchange room until it is time for their lesson

Each swimming level has a certain numberof items that must be performed correctlya minimum of 3 times in order for that itemto be complete (according to the standardsset by YMCA Canada and the LifesavingSociety). If a child is unable to completeall of the items during a session then weview this as an INCOMPLETE, not a failure.Swimming skills have still been learned, butmore practice time is required.

General Swimming Lesson Information
FIRST DAY OF LESSONS
Please read the Swim Level Descriptions prior to registering to make sure your child is in the correct level. Participants will be
screened on the first day to ensure they are enrolled in the appropriate level. Class transfers for participants enrolled in anincorrect level will be allowed up to lesson 2 providing space exists in the appropriate class. Please return your childs mostrecent progress card to their Swimming Instructor. Cards will be updated and returned on the last day).
PARENT PARTICIPATION DAY
Parents or caregivers join your child in the pool during their lesson (1 adult per child)! Parent Participation Day takes placeduring the last week of each program Session. Classes will end 5-10 minutes early these dates to give you a chance to speak to
your childs Instructor about their progress. If you do not wish to go in the pool, take the time after class to find out how your childis progressing. Bare feet only on deck please!
SWIMMING LESSON ABSENCES
If you know your child will not be attending lessons or volunteering on a particular day, please call 376-0484 ext. 214 and we will
make sure your childs Swimming Instructor is aware.
MULTI-LEVEL CLASSES
All of our lessons offer the instruction and quality you expect, with the added convenience of being able to enroll multiplechildren in different levels within the same time slot! Your child may be placed in a multi-level class. Our Swimming Instructors
are trained to deliver high quality instruction geared to the specific requirements of your child and their swimming level in a
multi-level class. Your child will continue to get the individual attention he or she deserves. If you have any concerns about yourchilds lessons, please speak with the Team Leader on deck.
MOVING FROM PRESCHOOL LEVELS TO LEARN-TO-SWIM LEVELS
Children who have started but not completed the Preschool program can continue inthe Learn-to-Swim program once they are 6 years old. Refer to chart at the side along

SPECIAL OLYMPICS SWIMMING:This program is designed for individuals with physical or mental disabilities. Use the water to improve coor-dination, mobility and endurance, but most of all, have fun doing it! School-Age & Adult Swimmers also have the opportunity to participate
in regional swim meets. Our Family Change Room is equipped with a sling lift and track, adjustable bed and shower chairs to help swimmers
prepare for the pool if needed. Four Levels:Adapt 1(non-swimmers who need one-on-one assistance due to their level of ability),Adapt 2(swimmers who are comfortable in water and require one-on-one assistance), School-Age(8-21 years old) &Adult(21 years +).
