Publication in Spain of the Act 11/2007, of the22nd June, governing public electronic access toPublic Services. – The citizen’s right to use electronic services.

University of Murcia has been working inthe development of e-governmentinfrastructures and services. – Certificate Service Provider FNMT – UMU Smart Card – FACTO project with Telefónica Móviles

Signature service. – XMLSig, XADES, CMS, CADES, PKCS#7, S/MIME

Client Architectures

Central security element: UMU Smart Card.Objectives: – Diversity of operating systems (Windows and Linux). – Client applications must be available not only for

traditional desktop systems, but also for mobiledevices (PDAs, smartphones, etc.). – Supporting of the main browsers and mail clients

available in the University of Murcia (InternetExplorer/Outlook, Netscape, Mozilla Firefox andTunderbird).

– Offering of high level functionality to developers. – Supporting of the most extended signature standards

(CMS and XMLDSIG).

Electronic Registry

Main objective: sending of electronic forms anddocuments to the university with the samevalidity as the physical registry.Characteristics:

– Electronic way of receiving official documents withauthenticity, integrity and non-repudiation of theperformed transactions.

– Providing of a service for checking the state of theforms and documents registered in the ElectronicRegistry Database.

– Integration of these electronic documents inside theworkflows of the university.

– Complete electronic processing between the differentusers that play a role in the lifecycle of the document.
