Sashes. Do we need sashes for each show? Winners could have laminated certificate
with photo of winning orchid. We will have Club Sashes for shows only and will be
recycled. Juniors at the moment are not recognised, must include them in future.
Show of hands revealed all in favour. Perpetual Trophies – asked members do they
want trophies? All information on trophies now on the internet. All agreed to keep
trophies.
Christmas Meeting will be kept as BBQ breakfast. Bacon & eggs, toast and orange juice.
Hamper – please bring item under $5 for hampers. Need helpers in kitchen and a
few toasters please!
We have two barter marts for the summer. February and March. D. Light stated we
need earlier marts as after Christmas are not very profitable. D. Meade suggested a
garage sale instead. L. Darlington said last year February mart made us $587 less ex-
penses, making around $400. Our Sausage sizzles at Bunnings are still more profita-
ble.
February meeting next year is our AGM. The President and Vice President have run
their 2year term and will be stepping down. Secretary and Treasurer would both like
to step down also. Any one interested can join the team and sit in at meetings to
see how things run. Please give these positions serious thought and support our
club. We still need someone to take over the role as Editor and publish our Orchid
Talk. Our editor will finish this year only.
Norm thanked M. Atherton for collating the clubs history and making it available for the
web-site. Members agreed the website was good.
Judging Panel will take more student judges. Contact M. Baker or N. Martin. M.Baker is
the student trainer. There are 5 students at present. Lessons go out by emails with
additional training at meetings and shows.
General Meeting.
New member Hannah Miles was welcomed.
W. Heath advised when purchasing items from Garden City Plastics he gets a good price
as he states he is a member of an Orchid Society who has an account with them. N.
Martin stated Bunbury Orchid Society also has an account there.
D. Meade advised she will not be available to help for intersociety challenge next year.
R. Winch stated he will hold teleconference with helpers to save travelling for
meetings. He has been in contact with B. Larson. Venue is still being arranged, and
B. Harwood will arrange accommodation.
Centrepoint display has had very positive comments. Will hold again next year. Unfor-
tunately there was a lack of helpers.
N. Martin showed how to break up a cymbidium and repot. There were many small
pieces which were donated to members. For those members who took the cymbidi-
um, the name of plant was Cym. Tracey Reddaway x Cym. Gwen Thomas. There was
a lot of interactivity with questions and answers throughout demonstration. Thanks
Norm.

Hello, welcome to our small orchid talk sorry to say I missed another meeting and don’t
have any photos or judging results. However, we do have few things lined up for the end
of this year and the beginning of the next.
Firstly, the December meeting will be a cooked breakfast, bacon, eggs and toast with or-
ange juice or the regular tea and coffee.
February we have a barter mart on the 20th and another in March on the 12th. Please
start planning so that we can get enough people to run them.
Congratulations to John and Ken who have moved from novice class to open.
I would like to again, take this opportunity to pat the committee for the spring show on the
back. I still have coming into work and commenting on how good it was.
February meeting is also our AGM vacancies on the committee are as follows,
President
Vice President
Treasurer
Secretary
Orchid Talk Editor
Steward
Please give some thought to taking up one of these positions as the club will cease to func-
tion without them being filled.
As this is my final Orchid Talk I would like to thank all of the people who provided me with
the help I needed during the difficult times this year and just so that you won’t want me
back I have included a page of politically incorrect jokes.
Cheers and hoping you all have a great Xmas and New Year.
"Hello, you have reached the ‘Men’s Help Line’, my name is Bob. How can I help you?”
“Hi Bob, I really need your advice on a serious problem.
I have suspected for some time now that my wife has been cheating on me. You know, just the usual signs: The phone rings and when I answer, the caller hangs up. Plus, she goes out with ‘the girls’ a lot.
I usually try to stay awake to look out for her when she comes home, but I always fall asleep. Any-way, last night about midnight, I woke up and she was not home. So, I hid in the garage behind my boat and waited for her. When she came home, she got out of someone’s car, buttoning her blouse, then took her panties out of her purse and slipped them on.
It was at that moment, while crouched behind the boat, that I noticed a hairline crack in the out-board motor mounting bracket.
Is that something I can weld, or do I need to replace the whole bracket?”

I was out drinking with a few friends a couple of nights ago and had few too many beers. Knowing I would be over
the limit I decided to do something I had never done before. I took a bus home. I arrived safely and without inci-
dent which is a real surprise because I have never driven a bus and I’m not sure where I got it.

A single glass at night could mean a peaceful, uninterrupted nights

NEW Wine for Seniors , I kid you not.....
Clare Valley vintners in South Australia,
which primarily produce
Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Grigio wines,
have developed a new hybrid grape
that acts as an anti-diuretic.
It is expected to reduce the number of trips older people have to
make to the bathroom during the night.
The new wine will be
marketed as PINO MORE
I HEARD IT THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE!!
Never Lose Your Grandson!
My small grandson got lost at the shopping centre.. He approached a uniformed security guard and said,
"I've lost my granddad!"
The guard asked: "What's he like?"
The little bloke hesitated for a moment and then replied,
"Rum and Coke and Sheilas"
