Dear Colleagues:

It is a pleasure and a privilege to welcome you to the Comprehensive Health Ministry Health Expo and Mission Training. This is a unique opportunity for the Health Ministries World Team to meet, fellowship, pray, and learn together. Additionally, we can, together, explore and plan collaboration and partnerships. I pray that, into the future, there will be many conversations and the strengthening of relationships with many valued Health Ministries initiatives that work in Comprehensive Health Ministry. Thank you for coming!

The Advisory has been crafted to provide maximum opportunities for discussion, work-shop style interaction, as well as didactic sharing and learning. We are keenly anticipating vigorous and robust discussions, and you will see that time has intentionally been dedicated for such conversations. Please take the opportunity to engage and share.

The quinquennial strategic plan for 2015-2020 forms the foundation of the Advisory. Our focus will be on Christ, our “Pattern Man,” and His righteousness, as we reach up to God, reach in with God, and reach out with God. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we can be used of Him to engage every member, be faithful to His Word, believe His prophets, and allow Him to live His life within and through us.

May we remember that all our endeavors are modeled on Christ’s method (Ministry of Healing, page 143):

• Mingling

• Sympathizing

• Meeting needs

• Winning confidence

• Sharing timeless spiritual truths and the invitation to follow Jesus

We will be unpacking and discussing the elements of effective Comprehensive Health Ministry, which:

• Works as Jesus did – the sick are cared for, the naked clothed, and all are loved and embraced.

• Is a ministry and a mission “to make men whole.”

• Focuses on wellness as well as treatment of disease.

• Addresses the whole person – physical, social, mental, and spiritual.

My prayer is that as we all embrace Comprehensive Health Ministry, we will be empowered by God’s Spirit to be His hands in sharing wholeness to all. We should remember that our special service to Him as health ambassadors is a mission, and not just a method.

May this Advisory be an enriching and refreshing experience, and may you sense His presence in a real and and an unusual way.

With warmest regards,

Peter Landless, DirectorGC Department of Health Ministries

Songs of Praise & Worship

Advisory Theme SongI Then Shall Live1. I then shall live as one who’s been forgiven; I’ll walk with joy to know my debts are paid. I know my name is clear before my Father; I am His child and I am not afraid. So greatly pardoned I’ll forgive my brother, The law of love I gladly will obey.2. I then shall live as one who’s learned compassion; I’ve been so loved I’ll risk loving, too. I know how fear builds walls instead of bridges; I’ll dare to see another’s point of view. And when relationships demand commitment; Then I’ll be there to care and follow through.3. Your kingdom come around and through and in me;

Your power and glory let them shine through me. Your Hallowed name, oh may I bear with honor; And may Your living Kingdom come in with me. The Bread of Life, O may I share with honor; And may You feed a hungry world through me.

Amazing Grace1. Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me, I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now, I see.2. T’was Grace that taught my heart to fear. And Grace, my fears relieved. How precious did that Grace appear The hour I first believed.3. The Lord has promised good to me His word my hope secures. He will my shield and portion be As long as life endures.4. Through many dangers, toils and snares I have already come. ‘Tis Grace has brought me safe thus far And Grace will lead me home.5. When we’ve been there ten thousand years Bright, shining as the sun. We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise Than when we’d first begun.

O, How I Love Jesus1. There is a name I love to hear, I love to sing its worth; It sounds like music in my ear, The sweetest name on earth. Chorus: O how I love Jesus, O how I love Jesus, O how I love Jesus, Because he first loved me! 2. It tells me of a Savior’s love, Who died to set me free; It tells me of his precious blood, The sinner’s perfect plea. 3. It tells of one whose loving heart Can feel my deepest woe; Who in each sorrow bears a part That none can bear below.

Leaning on the Everlasting Arms1. What a fellowship, what a joy divine, Leaning on the everlasting arms; What a blessedness, what a peace is mine, Leaning on the everlasting arms.Chorus: Leaning, leaning, Safe and secure from all alarms; Leaning, leaning, Leaning on the everlasting arms.2. O how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way Leaning on the everlasting arms; O how bright the path grows from day to day, Leaning on the everlasting arms.3. What have I to dread, what have I to fear, Leaning on the everlasting arms; I have blessed peace, with my Lord so near, Leaning on the everlasting arms.

Blessed Assurance1. Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.Chorus: This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long; This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long.2. Perfect submission, perfect delight, Visions of rapture now burst on my sight; Angels, descending, bring from above Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.3. Perfect submission, all is at rest, I in my Savior am happy and blest, Watching and waiting, looking above, Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

He Leadeth Me1. He leadeth me! O blessed thought! O words with heavenly comfort fraught! Whate’er I do, where’er I be, Still ‘tis God’s hand that leadeth me.Chorus: He leadeth me, He leadeth me, By His own hand He leadeth me; His faithful follower I would be, For by His hand He leadeth me.2. Sometimes ‘mid scenes of deepest gloom, Sometimes where Eden’s bowers bloom, By waters still, o’er troubled sea— Still ‘tis His hand that leadeth me!3. And when my task on earth is done, When, by Thy grace, the victory’s won, E’en death’s cold wave I will not flee, Since God through Jordan leadeth me.

In A Little While We’re Going Home1. Let us sing a song that will cheer us by the way, In a little while we’re going home; For the night will end in the everlasting day, In a little while we’re going home.Chorus: In a little while, In a little while, We shall cross the billow’s foam; We shall meet at last, When the stormy winds are past, In a little while we’re going home.2. We will do the work that our hands may find to do, In a little while we’re going home;

And the grace of God will our daily strength renew, In a little while we’re going home.3. There’s a rest beyond, there’s relief from every care, In a little while we’re going home; And no tears shall fall in that city bright and fair, In a little while we’re going home.

When We All Get to Heaven1. Sing the wondrous love of Jesus, Sing His mercy and His grace; In the mansions bright and blessed He’ll prepare for us a place.Chorus: When we all get to heaven, What a day of rejoicing that will be! When we all see Jesus, We’ll sing and shout the victory!2. While we walk the pilgrim pathway, Clouds will overspread the sky; But when traveling days are over Not a shadow, not a sigh.3. Onward to the prize before us! Soon His beauty we’ll behold; Soon the pearly gates will open— We shall tread the streets of gold.

The Great Physician Now is Near1. The Great Physician now is near, The sympathizing Jesus; He speaks, the drooping heart to cheer, O hear the voice of Jesus!Chorus: Sweetest note in seraph song, Sweetest name on mortal tongue, Sweetest carol ever sung— Jesus, blessed Jesus!2. His name dispels my guilt and fear; No other name but Jesus; O how my soul delights to hear The precious name of Jesus!3. And when He comes to bring the crown— The crown of life and glory— Then by His side we will sit down, And tell redemption’s story.

There’s Sunshine in My Soul Today1. There’s sunshine in my soul today, More glorious and bright Than glows in any earthly sky, For Jesus is my light.Chorus: O there’s sunshine, blessed sunshine, When the peaceful, happy moments roll; When Jesus shows His smiling face There is sunshine in the soul.2. There’s springtime in my soul today, For when the Lord is near; The dove of peace sings in my heart, The flowers of grace appear.3. There’s gladness in my soul today, And hope, and praise, and love, For blessings which He gives me now, For joys “laid up” above.

We Would See Jesus1. “We would see Jesus;” For the shadows lengthen, Across the little landscape of our life; We would see Jesus, our weak faith to strengthen For the last conflict, in this mortal strife.2. “We would see Jesus,” Rock of our salvation, Whereon our feet were set with sovereign grace; Not life nor death, with all their agitation, Can thence remove us, gazing on His face.3. “We would see Jesus;” This is all we’re needing— Strength, joy, and willingness come with the sight; We would see Jesus, dying, risen, pleading, Soon to return and end this mortal night!

Redeemed!1. Redeemed! How I love to proclaim it! Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb; Redeemed thro’ His infinite mercy, His child, and forever, I am.Chorus: Redeemed, redeemed, Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb; Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it! His child and forever I am!

2. I think of my blessed Redeemer, I think of Him all the day long; I sing for I cannot be silent; His love is the theme of my song.3. I know I shall see in His beauty The King in whose law I delight, Who lovingly guardeth my footsteps, And giveth me songs in the night.

Because He Lives1. God sent His Son, they called Him Jesus, He came to love, heal, and forgive; He lived and died to buy my pardon,

An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.Chorus: Because He lives I can face tomorrow, Because He lives all fear is gone; Because I know He holds the future. And life is worth the living just because He lives.2. How sweet to hold a newborn baby, And feel the pride and joy He gives; But greater still the calm assurance,

This child can face uncertain days because He lives.

I Heard the Voice of Jesus1. I heard the voice of Jesus say, “Come unto Me and rest; Lay down, thou weary one, lay down Thy head upon My breast.” I came to Jesus as I was, Weary and worn and sad; I found in Him a resting place, And He has made me glad.2. I heard the voice of Jesus say, “Behold, I freely give The living water; thirsty one Stoop down and drink and live.” I came to Jesus, and I drank Of that life-giving stream; My thirst was quench’d, My soul revived, And now I live in Him.3. I heard the voice of Jesus say, “I am this dark world’s light; Look unto Me, thy morn shall rise, And all thy day be bright.” I looked to Jesus, and I found In Him my star, my sun; And in that light of life I’ll walk, Till trav’ling days are done.

Take My Life and Let It Be1. Take my life and let it be Consecrated, Lord, to Thee; Take my hands, and let them move At the impulse of Thy love, At the impulse of Thy love.2. Take my feet, and let them be Swift and beautiful for Thee; Take my voice, and let me sing Always only for my King, Always, only for my King.3. Take my lips and let them be Filled with messages from Thee; Take my silver and my gold, Not a mite would I withhold, Not a mite would I withhold.4. Take my will and make it Thine; It shall be no longer mine; Take my heart, it is Thine own! It shall be Thy royal throne, It shall be Thy royal throne.5. Take my love; my Lord, I pour At Thy feet its treasure store; Take myself and I will be, Ever, only, all for Thee, Ever, only, all for Thee.

Standing on the Promises1. Standing on the promises of Christ my King, Thru eternal ages let His praises ring; Glory in the highest I will shout and sing, Standing on the promises of God.Chorus: Standing, standing, Standing on the promises of God my Savior; Standing, standing, I’m standing on the promises of God.2. Standing on the promises that cannot fail,

When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail, By the living word of God I shall prevail, Standing on the promises of God.3. Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord, Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord, Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword, Standing on the promises of God.
