Travel grant applications are evaluated by the CIMAM Travel GrantCommittee consisting of the President of CIMAM and eight members of the Boardtogether with the travel grant funder

Fellowships are conferred based on the assessment of the professionalrsquos genuinefinancial need the potential benefit to his development andor research and therelevance of field experience in relation to the objectives of CIMAM

Program previewAround 200 delegates are expected to attend CIMAMrsquos 2014 Annual Conference inDoha This yearrsquos Annual Conference will comprise 3 keynote speakers 10 casestudies afternoon visits and a working period Each keynote will present a 40 minutepaper The purpose of the case studies is to provide in a 20 minute account ascomplete an understanding of certain events or situations as possible We expectworkshops to be places for the cross-fertilization of ideas and the building ofrelationships allowing people-to-people contacts and providing delegates with achance to discuss the issues arising away from the formalities of the plenarysessions

A post-conference tour to Sharjah Dubai and Abu Dhabi will follow on 12ndash13November 2014 Plans include visits to the foremost art institutions and privatecollections in these cities

Purpose of the Grant

The support is limited to cover conference registration travel expenses (round trip economy tickets only) and accommodation in one of the hotels recommended by

CIMAM

Distribution of funds is set on a case by case basis for each recipient Funds are exclusively related to support the purpose for which the grant has been awarded

Conference registration includes access to all conference sessions workshops conference lunches dinners refreshment breaks access to organized visits and

coach service to and from planned visits All registered delegates also receive a copy of the conference program and a courtesy tote bag Funds will not cover

registration and expenses related with the post-conference tour to Sharjah Dubai and Abu-Dhabi

Selection Process

Travel grant applications are evaluated by the CIMAM Travel Grant Committee consisting of the President of CIMAM and eight members of the Board together with the

travel grant funder

Fellowships are conferred based on the assessment of the professionalrsquos genuine financial need the potential benefit to his development andor research and the

relevance of field experience in relation to the objectives of CIMAM

Grants are restricted to modern and contemporary art curators and museum orcollection directors in need of financial help to attend CIMAMrsquos AnnualConference Researchers and independent curators whose field of research andspecialisation is contemporary art theory collections and museums are alsoeligible

While professionals of all career levels are encouraged to apply priority isgiven to junior professionals (less than 10 yearsrsquo experience) Applicants havingreceived CIMAM grants from the same grant contributor will not be consideredfor a new grant for the next three years

rarr The Getty Foundation Los Angeles supports 15 travel grants to contemporary art museum and collectioncurators and directors residing in countries with Emerging Market and Developing Economies according to theInternational Monetary Fundrsquos World Economic Outlook

Purpose of the Grant

The support is limited to cover conference registration travel expenses (round trip economy tickets only) andaccommodation in one of the hotels recommended by CIMAM Distribution of funds is set on a case by casebasis for each recipient Funds are exclusively related to support the purpose for which the grant has beenawarded

Conference registration includes access to all conference sessions workshops conference lunches dinnersrefreshment breaks access to organized visits and coach service to and from planned visits All registereddelegates also receive a copy of the conference program and a courtesy tote bag Funds will not coverregistration and expenses related with the post-conference tour to Sharjah Dubai and Abu-Dhabi

Selection Process

Travel grant applications are evaluated by the CIMAM Travel Grant Committee consisting of the President ofCIMAM and eight members of the Board together with the travel grant funder

Fellowships are conferred based on the assessment of the professionalrsquos genuine financial need the potentialbenefit to his development andor research and the relevance of field experience in relation to the objectives ofCIMAM

Program preview

Around 200 delegates are expected to attend CIMAMrsquos 2014 Annual Conference in Doha This yearrsquos AnnualConference will comprise 3 keynote speakers 10 case studies afternoon visits and a working period Eachkeynote will present a 40 minute paper The purpose of the case studies is to provide in a 20 minute accountas complete an understanding of certain events or situations as possible We expect workshops to be places
