NEXPERIENCE is a methodology for co-creation with customers. Using design concepts, NEXPERIENCE systemizes the methods, IT tools, and spaces for creating new services.The spaces for co-creation with customers are located in various global sites. The spaces are utilized for co-creation workshops with customers, which help to generate high-quality discussions and create original ideas. This process contributes to the development of new businesses. Also, specialists* are used to make this process a success, and to greatly strengthen the overall process.

The first step in transforming a business is to identify latent issues (problems and challenges). To identify such issues in complex business processes, Hitachi has systematized a methodology (NEXPERIENCE) for co-creation with customers. Both the methods for co-creation of value (which focus on the value of Experience) and tools (the Ex Approach) support the creation of new business models.Through these services, issues are shared between Hitachi and the customer, and Hitachi then uses technologies such as artificial intelligence to generate hypotheses for possible solutions to these issues. Based on the results of this process, a solution prototype is then created. The feasibility of the possible solution—whether the solution can obtain the desired results—can be verified.In this way, Lumada provides a variety of services for smooth co-creation of digital solutions.

Various trial-and-error attempts are needed for co-creation projects with customers and partners, and hypothetical solutions need to be proposed and verified quickly. With Hitachi's Lumada, verification can be performed quickly, based on prototyping that makes use of data, using development tools

and DevOps* environments, and trying out customer cases and solutions in which Hitachi’s multi-domain expertise is distilled.Also, migrating from the environment used to verify a hypothetical solution to the production environment can be done smoothly.
