Aſter a pre-dawn start yesterday to catch the early flight to London which thankfully went to schedule, lasng 8 hours, I then had a four-hour layover unl my onward connecng flight to the Channel Islands. We took from London off as scheduled at 4.00 in the aſternoon only to find ourselves circling for an hour when we got to our desnaon, waing for bad weather to clear. Aſter several concerted and brave aempts at descent and landing, the pilot ulmately gave up and headed back to London. We then spent another hour on the plane before it was decided to off load the passengers, re-fuel and re-crew and await further developments. At about 9.00 in the evening the airline decided to give it another go, but alas with the same result. So back to Gatwick we came again. Thus, aſter more than seven hours of effort to achieve a simple 40 minute connecng shule flight, we had ended up exactly 50 meters away from the boarding gate we originally started at. Furthermore, it had now brought my total travel me from the expected 12 hours to over 24 hours. I was exhausted and exasperated! As I sit here this morning, holding a new cket for today’s noon flight, I am told that the weather is sll bad at the desnaon but that the airline will nevertheless do their best. I am, on this occasion, merely a passenger of my desny! I know not what is in store for me today only that whatever it maybe I shall connue to hope and connue to make the effort to get to where I need to be. Today, that is a simple and clear task. I am over here and I need to be over there. If by the end of the day I again end up 50 meters behind where I started, then tomorrow I shall start again, with renewed energy, in the knowledge that eventually I will get over there, where I need to be. Aſter a slow end to 2016 and equally disappoinng start to 2017, I can report that finally things are on the up and up. We have a good and growing order book in the legacy businesses of Coangs and Linings and Channeline and more importantly, many enthusiasc potenal customers for IFL from all over the world are adding to the internaonal proposal register. I sincerely believe that we shall not, this year, end up 50 meters behind where we started. I would implore each and every one of us within the APS group, at home and abroad, to focus on the goal. Never get disheartened. We will get there. Regardless of the stormy weather! MANUAL HANDLING – Relates to the moving of items either by lifting, lowering,

carrying, pushing or pulling (Health and Safety Executive); Each activities shall be assessed for personal injury risks arising from manual handling by using the relevant form. Assessment covers four main areas: A. the Activity; B. the Individual; C. the load; D. the Surrounding Environment

Prepared by: APS HSE Department (APS-HSE-BSAr-001-Rev0) – 2Pages Page 2

Procedure and guidance information has been developed to ensure that all person carrying out manual handling duties handle the load in the safest possible manner, hereby avoiding sprains and strains to their back and other parts of the body.

Safety Reminders:

Plan – Decide how you will measure performance. Think about ways to do this that go beyond looking at accident figures - look for leading as well as lagging indicators. These are also called active and reactive indicators

Do – Identify your risk profile, organize your

activities to deliver your plans and Implement your plan

Check – Measure your performance and

Investigate the causes of accidents, incidents or near misses

Act – Review your performance and Take action on lessons learned, including from audit and inspection reports

As part of APS commitment tocontinuousSafeWorkingManagement, thetopic“ManualHandling”hasbeendiscussed amongst DIP personnel(foremen and workers), including areminderontheimportanceofPersonalProtective Equipment also known asPPE.

APS provides application of site based specialist liquid lining systems to the oil, gas water and power industries.

Performed in-situ, pipeline segments as long as 15 kilometers can be cleaned and internally lined in an operation whereby only access to the ends of the pipeline segment is required.

In-Situ Pipelining Systems are applied to stop further corrosion and allows for the cost-eective rehabilitation of existing (or new) pipelines exposed to high rates of corrosion, thereby considerably extending its service life.

Features• Rehabilitation Over Lengths up to 15KM• Stops Internal Corrosion• Extends Pipeline Service Life• Increases Throughput• Extremely Cost-eective• Provides a Homogeneous Coating Film• Allows for In-Line Inspection

Applications• Onshore Hydrocarbon & Produced Water Pipelines• Dicult to Access Pipelines• Pipelines in Diameters from 4-inch to 24-inch• Pipelines with a Large Number of Bends• Pipelines where Flanged Connections are Not Desirable

Many solvent-freeproductsareappliedbypluralcomponent pumps, which unlike traditionalcoatings are not pre-mixed prior to application. The time between when components aremixedandwhen they need to be applied, is known as‘pot life’. With plural component pump appliedproducts, there is little or no pot life due to thequick reactiontimesof thechemicals, so insteada mixing compartment is mounted just beforethe spray gun, in which the components aremixed once fed from different pumps.
