Colegio de Santa Potenciana 1589 Franciscans were the founder of this school King Philip II established the school because of the urging Manila bishop named Domingo de Salazar. This is the first school for girls who want to become nuns. This is a private school On 1589 it is located inside the Intramuros, but because of the earthquake on 1645 the school was destroyed and the school had transferred to the corner of Cabildo and Sta. Potenciana; this is indicated in the Muoz map of 1671.

Colegio de Manila/Colegio de San Ignacio

1595 It is located inside the Intramuros Jesuits established this college for everyone. The building was repaired many times because of the earthquakes that destroys the school In 1768 the Jesuit was expelled in our country, the school dissolved and surrender to the government. This site is now occupied by the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.
