 NRA Certified Instructors are eligible to purchase NRA Instructor Plus Liability Insurance for their firearms classes.  Don’t risk your assets and possible financial ruin by teaching classes without liability insurance. NRA Instructor Plus Insurance also provides the necessary certificates that gun ranges require for you to use their facilities for your classes.  For more information on instructor insurance, visit https://locktonaffinityoutdoor.com/instructor-plus/

 Monday – NRA Certified Basic Pistol – 8am to 5pm  

This class is now a mandatory prerequisite for the Wednesday NRA Certified Pistol Instructor course.  It is also a great class for new pistol shooters who may not be ready for the instructor course just yet. 

 Tuesday – NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT)  – 8am to 3pm   

This class is a mandatory prerequisite for all new instructors or any current Instructors who are adding a new discipline that have not successfully completed BIT within the last 24 months. 

 Wednesday – NRA Certified Pistol Instructor – 8am to 5pm 

Prerequisites apply.  Candidates must have successfully completed both NRA Certified Basic Pistol and NRA Basic Instructor Training (can be taken on Monday and Tuesday, respectively). 

 Thursday – NRA Certified Basic Rifle – 8am to 5pm 

This class is a mandatory prerequisite for the Friday NRA Certified Rifle Instructor course.  It is also a great class to learn all about rifles for new rifle shooters who may not be ready for the instructor course just yet.  

Friday – NRA Certified Rifle Instructor – 8am to 5pm Prerequisites apply.  Candidates must have successfully completed both NRA Basic Instructor Training and NRA Certified Basic Rifle and (Can be taken on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively).

Club members are encouraged to volunteer. The Trap/Skeet ranges and Rifle/Pistol lines always need friendly volunteers.

Fishing point—”Bus Stop” rehabilita on Mike Norris, the fishing point chairman, has a need for volunteers to coordinate with him to do a rehabilitation of the fishing point “bus stop” shelter. He needs help in removing debris, old furniture, and remove the actual structure from it’s place so a new floor can be put into place and the shelter area gets updated so that it remains water and wind resistant. Please contact Mike Norris FFI; 510-260-9626.

Social Committee There is interest in creating a Social committee. There was a discussion at the board meeting in December. If you are interested in being a part of said committee, please contact Laurie Sargentini via her email listed on the back of the bulletin. The interest is to plan fun things to do at the club in a more social setting. There are various activities during the year that need planning and this committee will take the lead on the planning. We are always looking for helpers to run the different activities. This is yet another way to get involved.
