To be eligible for the 2018 Wayne County Junior Fair
ALL MARKET LAMB PROJECTS MUST BE TAGGED
Saturday, June 2, 2018 • 8:00am - 10:30am • Wayne County Fairgrounds-Coliseum
May 2, 2018 Dear 4-H and FFA Market Lamb and Breeding Sheep Exhibitors; This letter contains very important information about your project, so please read it carefully. Also, be sure to read the project guideline sheet found in your 4-H project book or online at Wayne.su.edu/projectinfo and the help sheet to complete your Animal ID online.
This is the ONLY date that market lambs will be tagged for the fair! You do not have to be present,
but your lamb must be at the Coliseum between 8:00am and 10:30am on June 2 to be eligible to show or sell at the Wayne Co. Junior Fair!
Due to Scrapie Eradication Program, all lambs including breeding and market must have a premise I.D. ear tag (please see project guideline sheet for list of approved Scrapie identification). Market Lambs must have their
Scrapie tag in their ear by the June 2 Tag-in.
Registration papers on purebred breeding sheep must be available to a sheep committee member at the fair. Members who do not comply will be unable to exhibit their animals and animals will be dismissed from the fairgrounds, unless slick shorn and weighed-in for the slick shorn ewe lamb or yearling class.
Good Luck! I hope you enjoy your lamb project this year!
Sincerely, Stephen Heppe Extension Program Assistant 4-H Youth Development
