Queen of the Mississippi stateroom

Paducah, KYExperience the rich culture, fine dining and eclectic accommodations that draw visitors to this town located at the intersection of the Ohio and Tennessee Rivers. A truly creative place, Paducah is known for its talented culinary artists, painters, potter and jewelry makers that have been here since its foundation in 1827. Participate in hands-on workshops, marvel at life-size murals and captain a towboat in a pilothouse simulator.

Discover Paducah’s colorful history during a guided tour through the town’s historic district. Visit the thriving riverfront, where you will view more than 50 life-sized panoramic murals depicting Paducah’s rich history. Art Demonstration Tour

River Discovery Center Tour

Part of the “Save America’s Treasures” project, the River Discovery Center features exhibits on the importance of the area’s rivers throughout history and tells the story of the Four Rivers Region. Visitors can also “captain” a towboat or Coast Guard vessel at the center’s state-of-the art pilothouse simulator.

Cave-In-Rock, ILCave-In-Rock’s greatest feature is the magnificent geologic formation found within the Cave-In-Rock State Park. This park features an immense cave that is shrouded in lore. Tales from its past describe the cave as a historical hiding place for outlaws, bandits and river pirates. The cave also provided a dramatic backdrop for the epic 1962 Western film, How the West Was Won.

Within this wooded park stands a 55-foot-wide cave that was carved out of the limestone rock by water thousands of years ago. Henderson, KYAs you explore the “Gateway to Southern hospitality,” note the presence of resident naturalist, John James Audubon, whose “Birds of America” paintings have been re-created into bronze statues throughout Henderson. Louisville, KYNamed after King Louis XVI of France, Louisville is best known for the famed Kentucky Derby, the first leg of the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing. Jim Beam American Outpost

See first-hand how Jim Beam bourbon is made as well as learn about Jim Beam’s presence in history. Towards the beginning of your tour you’ll visit the Stillhouse Exhibit, which features an authentic copper still, believed to be one of the oldest in America, and the rackhouse built by Jim Beam after the Prohibition. Conclude the tour with a sample of one of their Small Batch Bourbons in the tasting room or browse their Stillhouse Shop for a variety of products featuring your favorite Jim Beam brands.

Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory

Since 1884, Louisville Slugger has put prime lumber in the hands of the greatest players of the game. As you arrive, you will see the world’s biggest baseball bat, which weighs 68,000 pounds and stands at 120-feet tall. Inside you’ll experience history-in-the-making as you stroll through the actual factory where the world-famous Louisville Slugger baseball bats are made.

Madison, INLocated on the Ohio River byway in Southern Indiana, this unique town is home to a variety of attractions and scenic routes from the Broadway Fountain that honors the nation’s bicentennial to the six wineries within its rolling hills. Madison is also a shopper’s delight as its historic district features multiple antique malls and shops.

Enjoy learning about this town’s past during a narrated bus tour through its historic district. Along the route you’ll stop at two of Madison’s most notable landmarks, the Lanier Mansion and the Schroeder Saddletree Factory. At the restored Ben Schroeder Saddletree Factory you’ll learn the history of producing saddle frames and clothespins. The Lanier Mansion represents 19th century splendor from its original 1844 Greek revival architecture.

Clifty Falls State Park

Open year-round, discover why Clifty Falls is considered one of the state’s prettiest parks. With over 1,300 acres of land and scenic overlooks including 70 foot rock gorges and 7 waterfalls, it is a sight you have to see to believe. While exploring the park, take a moment to notice the stony bed of Clifty Creek. Built in 1933 in Eden Park, this conservatory showcases more than 3,500 plant species from all around the world. Before the visit ends, be sure to take a moment to appreciate the conservatory’s Art Deco design made of aluminum and glass walls.

Flying Lambert-St. Louis International Airport is the best airport to fly into. The airport is serviced by many airlines and is approximately 20 minutes from the ship when traveling by taxi.

Arriving Early? If you arrive the day before your cruise, there are several hotels within a few minutes of the ship. Please ask for the American Cruise Lines rate. Each hotel can arrange for a taxi service to the dock.

Boarding ProcessBoarding the ship takes place between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The ship leaves promptly at 1:30 p.m. (earlier if all passengers are onboard). From the moment you arrive, the American Cruise Lines deckhands will handle everything for you. From helping you with your luggage to assisting you onboard—we will handle everything with care. There are no restrictions on luggage, but it is recommended to bring as few bags as necessary. Suitcases less than 10 inches high may be stowed under your bed.

Cruise ConclusionOn the last day of your cruise, the ship will dock at the Public Landing (behind the US Bank Arena), 33 East Mehring Way, Cincinnati, OH 45202. If flying home, we recommend you fly from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. Taxis are typically available at the ship and American Cruise Lines offers transportation to the airports.
