Bashas' Inc. operates several chains of supermarkets and

superstores under the banners Mercado, Food City, Bashas'

Markets, AJ's Fines Foods, and Eddie's Country Stores. Bashas'

stores are scattered throughout Arizona, California, and New

Mexico, but the majority are located in Arizona, where one-third of

the 100 stores operate in the Phoenix area. The company also has

six supermarkets operating in the Navajo Nation. Two of the

company's supermarket formats, Mercado and Food City, are

geared for Hispanic communities. AJ's Fine Foods touts itself as

gourmet and specialty supermarket, featuring extensive wine

collections and prepared meals. Bashas' also operates an online

grocery-shopping operation through its Groceries On The Go

service. The Basha family, who founded the chain in 1932, own

the company. Owing to its standing as a family-run business,

Bashas' corporate roots stretch back to the arrival of the first

Basha family member to the United States in the 19th century. In

1884, Tanius Basha left Lebanon for New York City, where he

opened an import and export wholesale store. Two years later,

after his entrepreneurial efforts had shown promise, Tanius sent

for his oldest son to come to New York to help him with his store.

Najeeb Basha, 16 years old when he arrived in New York to assist

his father, made the city his new home and mercantilism his new

profession. In 1901, he married a fellow Lebanese immigrant

named Najeeby Srour, and together the pair began raising a family

from whose ranks Bashas' would be founded. Najeeby gave birth

to nine children, all girls except for two boys, Ike and Eddie: the

founders of Bashas' Inc.

Little Caesar Enterprises, Inc. owns, operates, and franchises

Little Caesars Pizza, a predominately carryout chain of pizza

and related food products. Best known for its goofy

commercials touting two pizzas for the price of one with the tag

line "Pizza! Pizza!," Little Caesar's credo is simple: better

pizza, and more of it for every dollar spent. With over 4,800

franchises around the globe, Little Caesar vies with

competitors Domino's, Pizza Hut, and Papa John's for its slice

of the multibillion-dollar pizza marketplace. Using the same

pizza recipe it started with in 1959, this family-run business has

grown to become the third largest pizza chain in the United

States. Founded by Michael and Marian Ilitch, Little Caesar's

interests include its pizza franchises and Blue Line Distributing,

a full-service distributor for all units as well as to Kmart's

KCafes, which serve Little Caesar products. The Ilitches, well-

known sports fans, also own the Detroit Red Wings hockey

team, the Detroit Tigers Baseball Club, several sports arenas,

the historic Fox Theater in Detroit, and other restaurants. The

primary business, a chain of carryout pizza restaurants, has

been built on the concept of "two pizzas for the price of one"

and other innovative production and marketing techniques.

Little Caesar has over 4,825 franchise units in the United

States, Canada, Ecuador, Guam, Honduras, Puerto Rico, the

Philippines, the Dominican Republic, the Czech Republic,

Slovakia, Turkey, and South Korea--and sells over four million

pizzas per week.

electronics, appliances, computers, and smartphones through

flexible rental purchase agreements that allow the customer to

obtain ownership of the merchandise at the conclusion of an

agreed upon rental period. It operates through the following

segments: Core U.S., Acceptance Now, Mexico, and

Franchising. The Core U.S. segment consists of company-

owned rent-to-own stores in the United States, Canada and

Puerto Rico. The Acceptance Now segment offers an on-site

rent-to-own option at a third-party retailer's location. The Mexico

segment consists of its company-owned rent-to-own stores in

Mexico. The Franchising segment use Rent-A-Center's,

ColorTyme's, and RimTyme's trade names, service marks,

trademarks and logos, and operate under distinctive operating

procedures and standards. The company was founded by Mark

E. Speese on September 16, 1986 and is headquartered in

Plano, TX..

Jackson Hewitt, Inc. is the second largest tax preparation service

in the United States. The company has more than 3,300

franchised outlets in 48 states and the District of Columbia and

prepares more than 2.2 million tax returns annually. A quarter of

its offices are located inside Wal-Mart and Kmart stores. The

company also offers tax refund-anticipation loans, free electronic

filing, tax-preparation training, and tax audit representation.
