follows:1. That your Petitioners are a majority in number

of the Electors of the Yilgarn Electoral Division of theState of Western Australia, living in an area comprisedwithin a circle having a radius of six miles (6) fromthe local Post Office, situate in the Townsite of Holler-ton (late Glenelg Hills), Yilgarn District, and beingthe area approved by the Licensing Reduction Boardfor the purpose of this Petition.

2. That there has been an increase in population insuch area and hat such increase is likely to be perma-nent.

3. That a Gallon License is required at Hollertonto meet the requirements both of the residents in thatTownsite and of the miners and other residents in thesurrounding District. It is probable that agriculturalsettlement will extend around Hollerton.

Your Petitioners therefore humbly pray that theLicensing Court may, pursuant to the powers in thatbehalf contained in The Licensing Act, 1911" (Con-solidated), have the authority to grant a new GallonLicense for the premises within the above-mentionedarea.

(e) Every person who does, permits, or suffers anyact or thing contrary to this By-law shall on convictionfor every offence, breach, or neglect be liable to apenalty not exceeding : Ten pounds sterling (E10).

Magnet Road Board,in pursuance of the powers vested in the said Board,under and by virtue of the said Act, and of everyauthority enabling it in this behalf, doth hereby makeand publish the folic wing By- laws:

By -law to provide Restrictions as to Hawkers.No. 1. No person shall hawk any fruit, fish, or vege-

tables, or any article of merchandise, within any partof the district, without having first obtained a Licensefrom the Board.

No. 2. No person shall hawk any fruit, fish, or vege-tables, or any article of merchandise within five milesof Mt. Magnet Townsite boundary.

No. 3. Any person who travels or trades on foot, orwith any vehicle of' animal, or otherwise carrying tosell, or offering for sale, or expose, within the limitsaforesaid, any of the articles or things aforesaid, shallbe deemed to hawk the same.

No. 4. No person shall keep, manage, or conduct anymovable or temporarily fixed stall in or near any streetfor the sale of any meat, fruit, vegetables, drink, eat-ables, or articles of merchandise unless such person belicensed.

No. 5. Licenses for hawkers shall be in the form"X" of the Schedule, and for stalls in the form "Z"in the Schedule.

No. 6. Every hawker whilst employed in hawkingshall produce his License, upon being required by anyconstable or officer of the Board, and shall at all timeshave affixed to some conspicuous part of his coat, bar-row, basket, vehicle, or dray a board or plate bearing ,his name, and the words `1 Licensed Hawker" legiblyprinted thereon in letters not less than one inch inlength.

No. 7. No licensed stall shall be placed or allowedto stand in any street or position other than that men-tioned in the License, or between the hours of 9 p.m.or 4 a.m.

No. 8. The following fees shall be paid for Licensesto hawkers or stalls, and shall be paid in advance, andif any payment be not paid when due, the License shallbe void.

Hawkers' Licenses.For every hawker with hand basket or tray-20s.

per annum.For every hawker with wheelbarrow or handcart-

30s. per annum.For every other hawker with motor or vehicle drawn

by horse or other animal-40s. per annum.

Stall Licenses.For every stall--10s. per month.

No. 9. Every licensed hawker and stall-holder shallat all times obey the lawful directions of the secretaryor other authorised officer of the Board.

No. 10. No perscn to whom a Hawker 's or Stall-holder's License is granted shall lend, transfer, or as-sign his License granted, and no person shall borrowor make use of any such License granted to a personother than himself, unless by written consent of thesecretary.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Carnamah RoadBoard propose to borrow the sun of £500 (Five hun-dred pounds) to be expended on works and undertak-ings in the Carnamah Road Board District, the saidworks and undertakings being the taking over of thePublic Hall at Coorow.
