The meeting was opened at 5pm and prior to the commencement of any business the appointment of Maureen Reynolds to the board as Deputy Chair was approved. No nominations for this role were received prior the election of board members and no expressions of interest were received by the board after notification of outcome of the election of board members was communicated to members. This is a 2-year position. Moved Shaun Myers, Seconded John Thompson. Maureen was welcomed to the board by the Shaun Myers.

1. Update: COVID-19 update, Bingo, Friday Nights etc – No plans for Bingo or Friday night get togethers. 2. Letter from Noel Lock 0Life Members Fees – currently $75 was changed from free to $75 on 31/7/2017 (see

Minutes of Board Meeting 9/5/2017). Discussed - No further fees to be paid by any Life Members. Graham Radford to receive a refund - SS.

3. Email from Daryl Marendez regarding 5 year plan for projects for the club and goal setting – discussed. The board has a range of long-term projects including Solar, acoustics/sound proofing, roof for outside green but sees this as another way forward. The finance committee with Stephen Somerton and Peter McLean and Maureen Reynolds (Grant applications) to follow up with Daryl Marendez. Richard Holland to organise research/survey members regarding their views of what others projects they propose. Subcommittee to be organised by Richard Holland.

4. Letter of thanks to be sent to Daryl Marendez – MW 5. Sponsorship – Aero Bowls reducing their club sponsorship to $200 (down from $500). Stephen has written

to Aero offering them an alternative of donating bowls set instead. SS



6. Geelong Broadcasters Kara Fraser – Geelong Broadcasters (K Rock Bay FM)– Shaun Myers. Promotion on Bay FM. Pekish – provide voucher as prize for radio competition. City BC– to promote Corporate Bowls later in the year – RH, Russell Gray. Richard Holland and Shaun Myers to meet with Kara on Friday am.

7. Pekish Kitchen Maintenance – (Facilities) JT – 8. See Facilities Director’s report. 9. Ventilation and air con plant service completed 10. Exit and emergency light testing due in August

Must meet health and safety standards Kitchen Exhaust flue must be totally cleaned of grease and buildup. Middle section is an issue. David W. to send certificate to JT. Put on agenda for next meeting with Pekish prior to next board meeting. Send meeting date and time to Pekish. - MW

11. Car Park Lighting automatic not working properly – JT has changed the setup. He changes to start time as daylight hours change (monthly)

12. Lights at front of club house – repaired by EPS 13. Roof Algae issue – cleaned by Zane Lugg/ 14. Grounds Maintenance

Wheels need replaced on sprayer – agreed. Sweeper or blower for Greens. Purchase a second blower - agreed to purchase Moved ZL Seconded RH Graham Radford to be notified – SM Tiger Turf green speeds JT discussed with TT. Greens maintenance manual has been found and provided to Graham Radford who has increased the watering.

15. Key Authorities – John Thompson. Waiting for paperwork handover with Russell Gray Security codes manual. Russell Gray to handover to JT.

16. Solar Update (Treasurer) – Peter MacLean applied for interest free grant to Coreena Community Grants in 2019 to pay for solar to roof. SS just received notification the grant will go ahead. The club will have 5 years to pay back the money. Money saved on electricity should service the payments.

17. Pekish till System. The board instructed SS to notify Pekish that we are willing to pay $4000 but no more. SS\ 18. GST – The board will look at optional ways to restructure in order to limit GST.



19. New EFTPos is working well. 20. Dual Membership - Fees for non-members discussed. The aim is to encourage players from other clubs to

21. Green fees – to become $10 per player. Moved Shaun Myers seconded Richard Holland. All in favour Yes 22. Signs at Golf fence / Carpark – not completed as yet. ZL 23. Uniforms update from Neil Robinson and Zane. Still in negotiation with suppliers. 24. Presentation Day (Bowls Director) – at the start of Pennant Season. 25. Super Veterans - Badges (Bowls Director) – get names to SM - MW 26. GBR Pennant Season – same number of teams as last year in the same divisions. Practice games for

Saturday and Mid Weeks being organised – Shaun and Kerry Gooley. Zane has spoken with Bendigo regarding Round Robin comp. Bowls Vic Over 60s might happen in September. Recruiting: Brad Prior (Beeper), Maureen Reynolds and Leanne Salisbury have been cleared to City. Sam Winch has been cleared to Bannockburn.

27. BPL Cup - City of Geelong Bowls Club 16th & 30th August 28. Sponsors for new shirts - Richard Holland to follow up with Daryl Marendez. Only on sleeves. 29. AGM 10am Sunday 2nd August.
