Development summary.
A development brought to you by Pace.
Pace of Collingwood is a distinctive addition to the eclectic Collingwood neighbourhood, from which it draws its inspiration.
Inspired by the residential and industrial grain of Collingwood, architecture
is deilvered with authority and precision with the heritage of the location
embedded in the design. Featuring one, two and three bedroom apartments
and penthouses, with retail spaces on the ground floor, find yourself in the
centre of it all.
The exterior’s signature elements are brick, tiles and metal. Exposed red
brickwork, honed precast concrete tones, and manganese and bluestone-
inspired bricks keep the building true to the industrial tone of its
surrounds and area’s history. A receding upper level ties the lower
podium of the structure together with a sculptural crown in a bronzed
finish. These complement the large windows and protected balcony
openings. A sandy-brown brick defines the breaks in the built form,
which provides space for landscaped planters.

even the one bedroom apartments (all three bedroom apartments come with
two car spaces). Keeping residents front of mind, and catering to its locale,
there is also secure bicycle storage on the ground floor.
The building’s entry points are fitted with cutting edge technology allowing
easy remote access into the building, and adding an extra level of security
ensuring resident’s peace of mind. The rooftop features a lush garden with
abundant seating options for residents to entertain and relax, at home.

Sophisticated colour palette options, premium appliances and custom
joinery give Pace of Collingwood kitchen areas a timeless feel.
Each apartment boasts integrated premium Smeg and Fisher & Paykel
appliances that are paired with polished-stone benchtops, ceramic tiled
splashbacks and a minimalist island bench (included in most apartments).
The expansive mirror wall panel reflects light and gives the kitchen a
spacious feel. The contemporary colour palette options include a
choice of warm greys and deep charred tones or for a more subtle
option, pared-back, lighter hues.

Flow and function are the most important elements of the living areas,
incorporating timber floorboards, natural-wool-fibre carpets and stone
elements. The layouts have been designed for open plan living, and a
minimalist approach lets the quality of the materials used in the space
speak for themselves. Simple lines and a timeless, earthy colour palette
encourages residents to make these spaces their own.

Understated luxury.
Textural variations and crisp white finishes give these bathrooms a sense
of everyday luxury. The raw finish of the floor and wall tiles complement
this with an organic aesthetic. The mosaic wall feature adds interest and
a sense of depth and space. A tall, slender joinery piece subtly divides
the space and accentuates the chrome tones and brushed nickel tapware.
The frameless shower, mirror-front cabinet and minimalist wall-mount
basin keep the bathroom light and spacious.

We are not a one trick pony.
We are dedicated to bringing something exclusive to each project.
Be it a custom design print, a tailor made tabletop, or the fixtures
we choose for a bathroom sink.
We’re focused on the details. After all, that’s what makes up the bigger
picture. Working across retail, hospitality, commercial, residential and
multi-residential: we are not going to design something we wouldn’t live
in, work in, shop in or eat in. Our emphasis on craftsmanship means we
select everything not only on form, but also on function.
With every project we put our name to, we aim to create something
unique, something that is sure to surprise you and something that is
most definitely beautiful.

40 Endless discovery. Uncover the quirks of Collingwood
Collingwood packs some of the best examples of Melbourne’s dining, art, culture and laid-back attitude into just a few inner-city blocks. Its creative spirit produces innovative art spaces, design, retail, bars, pop-ups and community-minded locals, and Pace of Collingwood is in the centre of it all.
Collingwood rewards those who dig beneath its surface. If you take a
chance on an at-first-ordinary-looking laneway, an urban growers garden in
a disused parking lot, a local emerging artist’s exhibition in an independent
gallery, a hole-in-the-wall café, you’ll come away understanding what locals
love about it: Collingwood’s diversity, ingenuity and energy is its heart.
The amenities around this are what make it one of the most liveable pockets
of an already internationally renowned liveable city. Its pocket parks,
The Collingwood Children’s Farm and Fitzroy and Carlton Gardens provide
oases of nature and down-to-earth community engagement that inner-city
areas often lack. The area is a public transport hub and the area’s walkability
and bicycle lanes make navigating it – and neighbouring Fitzroy – easy
and pleasant. Live music, innovative dining options and bars thrive in this
concentrated centre of easy living and creativity. As a neighbourhood at
the vanguard of culture, Collingwood is also constantly reinventing itself.

41Endless discovery.
From morning to night, Collingwood has your day-to-day covered –
and then some. Start with coffee and a snack from one of the area’s
many cafés, such as Arno Espresso on Cromwell Street. Then, via
Peel Street Park, head to Mina-no-ie and make yourself at home.
This retail and dining space specialises in Japanese-style homewares
and nutritious, organic food. Also nearby are Oxford Street Park
and Condell Street Reserve – although urban at heart, Collingwood
is dotted with pocket parks and green spaces. They’re perfect for
lounging, meeting up and spotting street art.

For even more greenery (this time indoors) visit plant nursery and
plant-sculpture space Loose Leaf. It’s in Collingwood’s industrial fringe,
among warehouses, behind a roller door, which makes the space all
the more enchanting. From there, Phamily Kitchen is just a three-minute
walk along Argyle and Smith Streets. It serves the home-style Vietnamese
cuisine its owner, Michael Pham, grew up eating in a slick fit-out with
a casual atmosphere. Just up the road, Modern Times is the place to go
for prints by local artists; out-of-the-ordinary ceramics and homewares;
and mid-century Danish furniture. Other dining options include Aka Siro,
which is dedicated to serving beautifully simple staples of Japanese dining,
and Hotel Jesus, a vibrant taqueria modelled on the street-side eateries
of 1970s Mexico.

45Endless discovery.
From snacks paired with pre-dinner drinks, to a place to settle into for
a pub meal and beers, Collingwood has you covered. Rupert on Rupert
is a sprawling oasis of industrial charm serving wood-fired pizzas, wine
and cocktails. For a sophisticated dining experience try Saint Crispin
on Smith Street. This restaurant by chef Scott Pickett is a former cobbler’s
workshop, and focuses on serving local and seasonal ingredients.
The Napier Hotel is a laid-back neighbourhood classic with generous meals,
local beer on tap and an outdoor area for warm evenings. Marion Bar
(by renowned chef Andrew McConnell) and IDES bring fine-dining flair
to Collingwood; they offer refined dishes and sophisticated wine lists.
Shop Ramen is a neighbourhood ramen bar setting the standard for
traditional, home-style broths and Lazerpig is a pizzeria-meets-party
place serving pizza and good times.
