德望學校家長教師會

週年會務報告

時光飛逝，轉眼又一年了。這次是我最後一次以家長教師會主席的身份，向各位作週年會

務報告。在過去一屆，家長執委與學校建立互信，配合學校的教育政策，促進同學成長。

在阮修女、校長陸范勵賢女士、各位老師，以及家長代表林泰榮先生的培養指導下，同學

在中學文憑試及其他學習領域均有卓越的表現。為了令畢業典禮更莊嚴，本會特意撥款為

畢業生訂造畢業袍，相信此舉能為畢業同學留下難忘的回憶。此外，本年欣逢德望學校創

校 60 週年，本會亦捐款支持舉辦各項校慶活動，共襄盛舉。過去一年，本會多項活動或

計劃均圓滿成功，實有賴各位家長執委及會員的鼎力支持。在此，本人謹向各位家長致以

衷心謝意！

現在開始匯報上年度的會務，首先請司庫馬太報告財政狀況。

一、財務事宜

截至二零一四年八月三十一日止，本會營運基金結存為港幣陸拾貳萬貳仟叁佰壹拾陸圓

($622,316.64)，而去年同期則為港幣柒拾伍萬陸仟捌佰捌拾貳圓 ($756,882)。

本會今年執行二零一三年度週年會員大會議決案，從本會的「發展基金」撥出陸萬伍仟伍

佰零捌圓($65,508.40) 訂造 200 件德望學校畢業袍，以及捐贈拾萬圓($100,000.00)以支持

德望學校舉辦 60 週年校慶活動。

總結過去一年，本會的週年財政共錄得盈餘有叁萬玖佰肆拾貳圓 ($30,942)，與上一年度

比較，營運基金結存有百份之二十二點的增長。

本會主要收入來源為會員年費，去年的營運經費佔總收入的四成七。

由於「執委會」訂定了嚴格的營運經費使用守則，營運基金結存能恆常處於充裕的水平。

職是之故，在未來的日子，本會將有充裕的資金，為會員及學校籌辦更多有意義的活動。

二、會務事宜

校董會家長代表

校董會家長代表為家校溝通的重要橋樑，代表家長在校董會發表意見，地位甚為重要。為

確保其代表性，二零一一年度週年會員大會通過「校董會家長代表」必須是前任或現任德

望學校家長教師會執行委員會委員。本人謹此呼籲各位家長踴躍參與家教會的工作，支持

學校。

最近本執行委員會議決，推選楊秀蘭女士(現任家長教師會聯絡)為「校董會家長代表」加

入校董會，任期至二零一六年八月。

三、推動及支持學生活動

本會訂造的畢業袍得到畢業生、家長、教師及校方欣賞。此外，本會還以年度營運基金為

畢業生設計及訂造襟針，令畢業生印象難忘，有所回憶。本會將德望學校畢業袍送贈學校

作日後畢業典禮使用。

二零一三至二零一四年度，本會舉辦了多項不同類型的活動，當中有兩個較大型的，分別

是「音樂團隊及傑出同學聚餐」和「運動員週年聚餐」。在上述活動中，多位在學界比賽

獲得殊榮及運動成績卓著的同學，跟師長、教練及家人共聚一堂，渡過了快樂的時光。

同時，本會向在「中學文憑試」中考獲優異成績的同學，頒發獎學金，以示表揚。

四、其他事宜

本會積極支持校方的不同活動，例如「其他學習經歷」之「社會服務」及「工作實習」、「午

膳大使」、為中一同學訂購家政科用品、安排師生和家長注射預防流行性感冒疫苗，以及

參與圖書館服務和飯堂服務等。以上活動得到老師和義工家長的鼎力協助，已經圓滿完成。

本會再次感謝他們的貢獻。

結語

在過去兩年，本人衷心感謝本會的執行委員、校監阮修女、學校管理委員會，以及各位老

師的幫忙。歡迎一位老師執行委員及三位新家長執行委員。相信新一屆執行委員將繼往開

來，加強家校合作，為同學提供更美好的學習環境。

二零一三年至二零一四年度週年會務已報告完畢，本人要感謝義工家長對本會活動的熱心

參與，以及各位家長、各位老師對本會的指導和鼓勵。在此，本人特別感謝義務核數師潘

偉雄先生和義務法律顧問李應彪先生，在百忙中為本會提供專業意見。

最後本人希望，亦深信校監阮修女和校長陸范勵賢女士，能夠帶領德望學校繼續向前。本

人認同德望學校 60 週年校慶活動標語的釋義，「感謝過去的成就，承諾未來的努力」。

德望學校創校已 60 週年，謹祝 德望學校週年生日快樂、校務蒸蒸日上。祝大家身體健康。

GOOD HOPE SCHOOL PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION

ANNUAL REPORT

Time flies! Today is the last time for me to report at the Parent Teacher Association Annual

General Meeting (AGM) for 2014. In line with the School Mission the Executive Committee

Members have developed mutual trust between all school stakeholders and been doing

everything possible to further enhance the growth of the students. I am pleased to share with

you the good news that under the supervision of Sister Pauline, our Supervisor, Mrs. Laura

Green, our new Principal, all the members of School Management Team, all the teachers in

Good Hope School, and our Parent Manager, Mr. Herrick Lam, most of our school students

have been admitted onto local university programmes after taking their Diploma of

Secondary Education Examination (DSE). Good Hope students have performed excellently

in other academic areas too. The School and the Parent Manager, Mr. Herrick Lam the

former Chairperson of PTA, have also done a lot to enrich the curriculum and upgrade the

School facilities to provide an excellent learning environment for our daughters. The PTA

also has prepared a Graduation Gown and a Graduation Pin to make the graduation of the

students from the secondary school solemn, and remarkable. On behalf of the PTA

Executive Committee, I would like to send my sincerest thanks to all the members, all

parents, and family members who have fully supported the work of PTA. Thank you!

To give you an overview of PTA activities in 2013-2014, I now invite Mrs. Ma, the treasurer,

to give the financial report.

1. Finance

The Association recorded an operating fund of HK$622,316.64, as of August 31, which

compares to HK$756,882 during the same period last year.

There was a big item of expenditure of two resolutions endorsed in the last Annual General

Meeting. The first item of expenditure was $65,508.40 for the production of 200 graduation

gowns for Good Hope School and the second item of expenditure was $100,000.00 as the

support for Good Hope School’s 60th

Anniversary celebration activities.

For the normal annual financial operation, there is a surplus of HK$30,942, when compared

to last year, which is a 22% increase.

The major source of income of the PTA was the annual membership fee. The operating costs

of the Association last year consumed 47% of the total income.

Because of the strict rules on the use of the operating fund, and the well-defined operating

procedures now required by the Executive Committee, the operating fund has remained at a

sound and stable level. In the future, the Association would like to spend its fund on

organizing meaningful activities for its members and the School.

2. Internal Affairs

Parent Manager

The Parent Manager has a significant role to play in the school. He/she is an important

bridge between the school and you, the parents, and is ideally placed to channel the views of

parents into the Good Hope School Management Committee (SMC). The resolution of the

Annual General Meeting in 2011 was that the Executive Committee (EC) of the PTA will

nominate a former or current EC member to serve as Parent Manager on the SMC. I

therefore invite you all to contribute and support the work of the PTA, and therefore the

school, by engaging with the Parent Manager. Our school is much stronger with all your

help.

Recently, the EC elected Ms. Wendy Young, the current Liaison Officer, to serve on the

SMC in this capacity, from September 2014 till August 2016. I am happy to see the

excellent collaboration between the School and Parents.

3. Supporting and organizing events/activities for GHS students

Graduation Gown. The PTA has made 200 graduation gowns and gave to the School as

assets of the School for the graduates in coming years. The graduation gown was well

received by the School, teachers and parents. PTA has also made a graduation pin for each

graduate.

In the academic year of 2013-2014, the PTA held two major events namely “Dinner

Get-together with Music Team and Talent Showcase in Celebration of Students'

Achievements”, and “Sport Teams Annual Get-together”. The PTA sponsored these events

to enable the students, teachers, and parents to relax and spend some informal time with each

other.

In addition, the PTA provided scholarships to recognize those students who obtained

excellent results in the DSE.

4. AOB

The PTA continues to be involved in school events such as ‘Social Services’, as part of the

Other Learning Experiences, it assists with ‘Internship’, the ‘Lunch Ambassador’, the ‘Book

Fair’, the ‘T&L Tools Sale for Secondary One students’, the ‘Influenza Vaccination

Programme’ as well as the ‘Library Service’ and ‘Canteen Service’. Without the support of

school teachers and volunteer parents, none of these events could have been run successfully.

Once again, the PTA would like to thank all volunteer parents and school teachers for their

support.

Concluding Remarks

For the past two year’s work, I would like to send my whole-hearted thanks to all the EC

members; our supervisor Sister Pauline, School Management Team members, all teachers

and all executive committee members for your great help, tolerance, understanding, and

patience. I am pleased to announce that a new executive committee will be formed with

three new parents joined the Executive Committee of the PTA in the coming two years.

They will give the PTA at great boost with their energy and enthusiasm and are most

welcome.

Apart from giving thanks to parents and teachers for their participation, I would also like to

show my appreciation to all the parent helpers who sacrifice their free time to help our

students. Last but not least, special thanks should be given to our Honorary Auditor Mr.

Richard Poon and Honorary Legal Advisor Mr. Andrew Lee. I hope the PTA will go from

strength to strength in serving the students and the school ever more effectively in the future.

I hope and truly believe that with the guidance of Sister Pauline and our new Principal, your

support for the PTA executive committee, Good Hope School will enter into a new era in

nourishing young women leaders. I do share the slogan that “For what has been, THANKS;

For what will be, YES!” Happy Anniversary to Good Hope School.
