CAASPP- Why is it Important?• CAASPP Exams are State mandated exams and officially being

administrated this school year for the first time!

• CAASPP exams are on-line assessments that will let the state know and you know if your child is performing at grade level.

• Scores are provided to individual students and the school

• Individual Student Scores determine student class placement and reviewed by high schools

• Administration Dates: May 18 – May 22

Parent Satisfaction Survey

• Parents can earn up to 10 parent hours by submitting a completed parent survey!!

• Surveys will be distributed today, Friday April 10th with your child.

• The following is the Parent Hour Incentive Schedule: - Monday, April 13th = 10 hours!! - Tuesday, April 14th = 7 hours - Thursday, April 16th = 4 hours - Friday, April 17th = 1 hour

• Surveys due by no later then Friday, April 17th to your child’s Advisory Teacher

• Remember: Survey results help us know how we’re doing as a school!

Parent Engagement Opportunities

• Parent Satisfaction Survey- up to 10 hrs (submitted by 4/13)

• WASC Parent Committee- Sunday 4/19: 5hrs Sign up with Ms. Juarez

• Parent Workshop 4/29- up to 3 hrs!

• Parent Park Chaperones- 2 hrs per class

• Please note all hours must be completed by Friday, May 29th • See Ms. Juarez, Parent Specialist for support

Promotion 2015• 8th Grade Portfolios Due: May 29th / Exhibition Date: June 2nd

• 8th Grade- 10 hours of Community Service Due: May 29th

• All Core classes including Advisory class must be at passing status by May 29th

• $50 Dues (June 5th)– Participation in 8th Grade Activities including Promotion Ceremony on June 12th

***Promotion Ceremony: Friday, June 12th at 3:00pm at the Carson Civic Center***
