• 1980 OSU M.S. Food Science & Technology. Worked with Dr. Krumperman and Professor Floyd Bodyfelt


• 1980-1986 Olympia Cheese Co. Q.A. First defined strain culture technology, external pH control starter technology, Earliest purchase of milk on component basis in the U.S.

• 1986-2014 Darigold. Quality manager, Technical Formulations Manager, Technical Services Manager, Quality Director, Technical Services Director.• Started with cultured products and butter, application of

HACCP, dairy ingredients, extensive travel to domestic and global markets


• 1978 Attended first ODI conference as student helper with cheese tray

• Continued to assist with cheese tray for the next 36 years.

• Married for 37 years to Sandy (also OSU grad)

• Children: Tim 26, and Carina 25.

• 1996: Sole Dairy Supervisor• 2006: Supervisor: Dairy, Meat & Egg• Co-supervisor for Foods and Food Processing

• 2012: Retired after 38 years with ODA
