I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season and I would

like to thank the many members who took part in our

Annual Christmas Dinner and Dance. We truly appreciat-

ed the very positive feedback and we look forward to en-

tertaining our members with our new 2015 social calen-

dar. If you haven’t had the opportunity to take part in

one of our social events, I strongly encourage you to

come see a side of Arlington that you haven’t experienced. 2015 will feature a calendar of Arlington Club

Signature Events that we hope will become annual club traditions. In addition to our Signature Events, The

Arlington Club will also feature various programs and incentives to continue to increase member activity

and participation.

While we will keep our fingers crossed for a couple of decent golf days, I would like to remind our mem-

bers who may be taking a winter break in warmer climates about the Kemper Collection. The Kemper Col-

lection is a group of sister properties that Arlington Members have reciprocal member privileges to. For

further information or to arrange a tee time, please contact the pro shop or administration offices.

Golf News

Our professional golf staff will be heading to the annual PGA Merchan-

dise Show in Orlando, Florida at the end of this month. This show is a superb

opportunity for our staff to stay up to date on the latest trends in fashion,

equipment, teaching aids, and golf accessories. Thousands of PGA profession-

als will be on hand checking out new products and participating in conferences

and best practices seminars. If any member has seen a particular new product

and would like one of our staff members to gather additional information,

please feel free to email our PGA Professional Kalen Boone.

These cold winter months are also a great time to address your current

golf gear. Changing grips is a relatively inexpensive way to liven up your clubs.

When considering grips, do not think any old grip will do. It is important to

evaluate your golf game, hand size, how often you play, and even your health.

If you are struggling with an arthritic condition, a new grip may be the answer.

Various shafts are also available to help increase club head speed, shot trajec-

tory, shot shape, and help with sore muscles and bones by eliminating vibra-

tion upon shot impact. Stop by this off-season and check out what is available

to increase your golfing enjoyment.

2015 Arlington Board of Directors

Election Results

The Arlington Board of Directors Election ended December 31, 2014.

The annual election process was held electronically for the first time in

club history allowing members the convenience of voting online via The

Arlington Club website. Overall election participation was deemed a

success with nearly 25% of the membership casting a vote.

To recap the election process, members receiving a minimum of three

nominations were eligible to be on the election ballot upon accepting

their nomination. Three members were nominated to run, and the

nomination process concluded month-ending November and was fol-

lowed by the election which was conducted throughout the month of

December.

Mr. Billy Upchurch won the 2015 election, and he will join the Arling-

ton Board of Directors at the upcoming board meeting on January

15th. Billy is a long time Arlington Club member who has served on the

board in past years. Billy is a CPA and partner of Baldwin and Associ-

ates located in Richmond, Kentucky. Along with Billy’s strong account-

ing background, he and his wife Libby are very active members of the

club and participate in swimming, tennis, and golf. Billy is excited to

join the board and looks forward to serving The Arlington Club.
