Details & Deadlines Now is the time to begin completing your Career Portfolio
(record book) while all the details are still fresh in your mind.
On our 4-H website: (www.cuming.unl.edu/4hlocal), you will
find a detailed sheet on how to complete the Career Portfolio, a
“How To” video, the form 11 and the order that the
information should go in the green binder. Your record book
should be turned into your 4-H leader no later than October
10th. Remember, your 4-H leader needs to sign your book
before you bring it to the Extension Office. All record books
will receive written comments. The junior age (8-11) books
will receive a gold, silver or bronze ribbon. The 4-H Career
Portfolio is available online at http://extension.unl.edu/statewide/cuming/cuming-couny-4-h-
record-book-information/
The Cuming County 4-H Council has three levels of record
book awards instead of just one. Please mark the subject
matter areas in which you want to be considered for awards on
0-11 Awards Form and we will take your age off of the top of
the sheet. Awards will be given in the age categories of 8-11,
12-14, and 15-18 as of January 1, 2017. You can only receive
the award once in each age division. Make sure you are
currently enrolled in the project area that you are applying in
and highlight that specific area in your yearly story.
If you have any questions, please give your leader or the
Office a call. We have a sample record book in the Office that
is available for you to review and check out.
Clover Kid Record Book Available We do have a record book designed especially for Clover Kid
4-H members. Clover Kids are encouraged to fill out their own
special record book, but it is not required. The book includes
places to indicate what activities you participated in and the
projects you took. Clover Kids also get to write a short story
about what you learned and include some photos of your
activities. For more information or to pick up a Clover Kid
Record Book stop by the Extension Office or find a copy on
our webpage at: http://cuming.unl.edu/4hlocal.

there so you get the publicity.
Ask local businesses to put a message about 4-H
on their sign.
Make 4-H bookmarks and distribute them to
school and public libraries during 4-H week.
