Start Student of the Month Columbia Crawlers B

Stella Swanson “Stella is always smiling. She is a very sweet girl. This almost one-year old loves to move around the classroom, playing with the animals and crawling into the play house. She also loves to pose for pictures for her Mom and Dad. She has grown so much since she joined Ivy League. We are happy to have her in our class!” Ms. Carol and Ms. Shamsa

Our September Teacher of the Month is Ms. Lyasia Wallace. Ms. Lyasia has been a part of our team for over 4 months now. She is the Assistant Teacher in the Brown Bears B class. Lyasia just jumped right in and bonded with the children. She is very hard- working, dedicated and reliable. Lyasia works very hard to maintain a clean, safe and fun classroom environment. She can often be seen singing with the children and running on the playground with them. Lyasia provides excellent assistance to Ms. Ruby and is friendly and helpful with parents and the other staff members.

Keep up the good work, Ms. Lyasia!

Health Corner

September was National Emergency

Preparedness Month. The focus is on

ensuring that families are prepared in the

case of a natural disaster or other

emergency situation. Does your family

have a plan? At Ivy League, we have plans

for different kinds of emergencies like

lockdown, fire and external threats. We

practice fire drills each month, as well as

lockdown, tornado and shelter in place

drills on a quarterly basis. Our staff has

been trained on our evacuation procedures

and we even have an evacuation “code”

which can be broadcast to alert all staff to

evacuate the building. Learn more about

emergency preparations at the CDC

dedicated site
