Mohican Outdoor School Resident outdoor/environmental education

program that enriches all phases of the elementary and middle school curriculum.

Operates September through May. Serves many grade levels, although 5th and 6th

grade makes up most of the student body. Interdisciplinary with an emphasis on hands-on,

experience-centered learning. Also offers summer camp experiences, teacher

Students are to have their initials on all clothing & personal items.

Students need water proof boots, notebooks, & pencils.

Make sure you are dressed in layers of clothes.

groups four ways at MOS. Students are assigned by their classroom teacher to their:

1. Table leaf for meal times

2. Dorm 3. Community

capacity of approx 160 students

• Dorm staff are at least 19 years of age

• All staff have police and BCI background checks

What You Need

You will have a list of clothing and other items you need to bring. (in packet)

You will need bedding, a pillow, towels and bathroom items.

You will need a good pair of waterproof boots.

You will need a raincoat or poncho.

Have your initials or name on all items!

PLEASE DO NOT BRING… Food to keep in your suitcase or

dorm. Electronic games or devices! Cans of hair spray, deodorant or

insect repellant. Expensive cameras or watches etc.

MONEY – Items may only be purchased with spending money that is due before leaving

Must be signed and returned right away

Important dates If your child IS fundraising, $56 per

box is due 4/13 - $28 of each box is profit

Any money fundraised is nonrefundable

If your child is NOT fundraising a $30 deposit is due 4/27

The remaining balance will be due 9/14

Registration forms are also due 9/14 Spending money for the store will be

due 9/14 – no exceptions
