Attention US Exhibitors: Please note that fees are due and payable in Canadian dollars. Due to consistently fluctuating currency rates, discounted

cheques will not be accepted. Personal cheques will be accepted however they are to be payable in Canadian funds. If you send a cheque in US funds it

must be made out for the full amount of the entry and no exchange will be refunded to the exhibitor. Please do not mark cheques “Payable in Canadian

Funds” or “At Par”. They will not be cleared by the banks. To simplify the process we urge that you purchase bank drafts or money orders payable in

Canadian funds. Your understanding and cooperation is appreciated. Thank you.

CKC Non-Member Participation Fee - (24-12-3) a) An annual non-member participation fee for awards and titles will be charged to a Canadian non-member of CKC. The fee

the non-member participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will cause all awards and titles to be cancelled.

c) "these fees apply only to dogs wholly owned by Canadian resident non-CKC members and are not applicable to CKC members"

*Please note that the CKC Membership Application and the Non-Member Participation Fee forms are available on the website, http://www.ckc.ca under CKC Services and then Forms On-line. Calgary Kennel & Obedience Club proudly presents

Transformational Puppy Evaluation and Matching Connecting Dogs and Owners So All Thrive

A two-day seminar with

Gayle Watkins, Ph.D.

Avidog® International, LLC

September 21 & 22, 2019

Abbeydale Community Centre, Calgary, AB

This two-day seminar will focus on the why, what and how of puppy evaluations, so that pups are matched to optimal homes where both dog and owner will thrive. Even the best pup won’t reach its potential if it isn’t in a home where it fits well.

Saturday (Puppy Eval 1) begins with determining why we need to evaluate and match puppies, how to evaluate prospective owners and homes, and evaluating health, structure, and natural working ability. We will end the day with an introduction to temperament and the components that make dogs more or less successful in their homes.

Sunday (Puppy Eval 2) continues with an in-depth look into temperament, identifying those traits that do not change over a dog’s lifetime and those that can be influenced by breeders and owners. We will then watch and score an Avidog Puppy Evaluation Test (APET). From there we will try our hand at matching puppies to homes and developing individualized training plans for each pup.

After the seminar, all participants will have access to a private resource page on the Avidog website and be invited to join the private The APET Facebook group where we continue the discussions started at the seminar.

Who Should Attend?

The seminar has something to offer any serious dog person but will have particular appeal to:

• breeders of competition, working and pet dogs

• working dog owners and handlers

• performance dog owners

• dog trainers

What past seminar participants have said

Avidog seminar? I would miss a dog show, an agility trial….heck, maybe even my own wedding to attend another seminar. -- Sharon Gayle Watkins is a first-class presenter who is able to explain complex topics in a straight-forward manner while still being very entertaining. Her methodology on puppy testing is revolutionary and will change the way we place our puppies. It is not only easy to implement, but it is intuitive and repeatable. Her seminar will teach even the most experienced breeders something new. – Debbie Garland

It was a super seminar and Gayle was a great speaker. I truly enjoyed everything about it. It was so informative on puppy testing!!! – Marie Nadeau
