BLISTFULL FUTURE THROUGH THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

The name is Aleksi ivko, a student of The Secondary school of Economics in Poarevac. I was born in Poarevac on the 17th of Septembre in 1991, which makes me 18 years old. This is my senior year at high school, and that means that by the end of the year I will probably be attending a university.

I have always been interested in languages, especially English, so its not hard to imagine that I want to study English at the University of Filology in Belgrade. And hopefully, Ill make it easier on myself by winning one of the first 3 places at the national talents competition on the 5th of June in Belgrade, which would secure the max 40 points on the entrance exam for the university. I qualified for the competiton by taking third place in the regional talents competition, which was held in Poarevac on the 8th of May. The headline of my essay was Ninjutsu the art of survival.

It was 7am, Saturday, March 8th as we set out to our excursion to Vojvodina. There were five classes of students

organized in two buses. The whole trip was organized by a tourist agency Litas. Our first destination was supposed to be monastery

Hopovo, but we had postponed it for later because the bridge we were supposed to cross was being repaired and closed at that

moment. We proceeded through an alternative road and

made our way towards Sremski Karlovci. We decided to take

a break at the town square. The interesting thing about it is

that it has a drinking fountain famous for an old legend. It is four-sided and one can drink from whatever side he

chooses. As the local guide explained, the legend says that if

you drink water from it, you are bound to return to Karlovci

sometime in your life, and the love of your life will come

from the side of town you drank the water from. After that

short break, we visited the oldest Serbian High school of

Karlovci, founded in 1971 year. Unfortunately, we couldnt

visit the interior because there was an important meeting

going on at the time, so we were told about the schools

interesting history in the courtyard by one of the school

students herself. We also visited the church of St. Nikola.

That was the end of our short stay in Sremski Karlovci, so we proceeded to Novi Sad. As we arrived there, first we visited the

Petrovaradin fortress. Funny fact about it is that it was very rarely used in battles, and most of the conflicts were solved in

diplomatic ways. It is now used as a stage for the Exit festival. After that we went to the city square and took a break there. Finally

we left Novi Sad and set out to Subotica where we stayed in a hotel Patria. There we had dinner and a discotheque.

Tomorrow, as we finished our breakfast, we had a local guide waiting for us in the Suboticas City Hall. We were told

about that buildings history and then we had a two-hour break before we continued our trip. The next destination was Pali lake.

We had some free time to visit the Zoo, and then had lunch at one of the restaurants there. After that we visited Zobnatica-the stud,

but it was a dissapointment because we didn't have time to ride the horses. We then proceeded to our final destination, the

monastery Hopovo, which was postponed for this time, but then another problem occured. We figured that we would be too late to

return to Poarevac if we visited the monastery, so we decided to proceed straight to Poarevac. We had finally arrived in

Poarevac at 9pm. I think the excursion went pretty well, and all of us were happy to have undertaken it.
