DESCRIPTION
Our presenters Marc Trouard-Riolle, Dave Potter and Danny Phillips in the latest presentation of the Citrix Cloud Master Class series discuss the “better together” aspects of Citrix CloudPlatform and NetScaler. NetScaler integration with CloudPlatform builds on the extensive networking capabilities already provided natively within the virtual router, by adding additional functionality. In this session, we looked at one aspect of that additional functionality: automatic scaling, or AutoScale, of CloudPlatform workloads. Learn about use cases that can benefit from auto-scaling: M&A, new product launch, high-availability and disaster recovery. Understand hypervisor, storage and networking considerations related to auto-scaling. See a step-by-step demonstration of configuring CloudPlatform and NetScaler to automatically scale data center resources up, out and back as workloads and resource requirements change.

Basic (Layer 3) vs. Advanced (Layer 2) NetworkingSegmentation based on feature set and ease-of-deployment
Basic: true AWS-style L3 isolation• Tenants do not get contiguous IP addresses
• Network segmentation based on Security Groups
• Tremendous scale (tens of thousands)
• XenServer and KVM only
Advanced: offers full L2 subnets• VLANs subject to default implementation (4K limit)
• More features (source NAT, PF, VPN)
Layer-2 Layer-3
Isolation VLAN Security Groups
(XenServer & KVM only)

NetScaler Master Class• http://www.citrix.com/events/netscaler-master-class.html
CNS-207 Implementing Citrix NetScaler 10 for App and Desktop Solutions• Designed for students without previous NetScaler experience, this course provides the foundational concepts and skills necessary to implement, configure,
secure, and monitor a Citrix NetScaler system with NetScaler Gateway in a desktop virtualization environment such as one containing Citrix XenDesktop 7 or Citrix XenApp, while providing secure application and data access to users. An optional module on NetScaler SDX appliances is included with reinforcement simulation exercises. This course is based on the Citrix NetScaler 10.1 product, but the skills and fundamental concepts learned are common to earlier product versions.
CNS-205 Citrix NetScaler 10 Essentials and Networking• Learn the foundational concepts and advanced skills to implement, configure, secure, monitor, optimize and troubleshoot Citrix NetScaler. Designed specifically
for learners with limited or no previous NetScaler experience, this course facilitates hands-on learning through access to a virtual lab environment.
CNS-301 Citrix NetScaler 10 Advanced Implementation• Designed for experienced NetScaler students, this course provides the skills to manage, configure and monitor advanced features and components of Citrix
NetScaler 10. Hands-on labs cover advanced tasks such as troubleshooting, configuring application security with Citrix Application Firewall, tuning the NetScaler for high-traffic loads, configuring AAA for system management, and more. Advanced monitoring and management tasks such as configuring and implementing NetScaler Insight Center, Command Center, and NetScaler Web Logging are also covered. This course is based on the NetScaler 10.1 product, but the skills and fundamental concepts learned are common to earlier product versions.
