NOTIFICATION Dear Parents and Carers,
As you know, Marlborough Primary School is very much committed to providing children with as many enriching opportunities as possible. Whole school events, such as Black History Month and Diwali day, have allowed children to learn in ways that are engaging to them, whilst also ensuring that the experiences are purposeful. To recognise the school's continued commitment to these events, MPS has successfully applied for the International School's Award; achieving the Foundation level. Our next step is to develop our international links with other schools and allow children to communicate with children around the world through cross curricular activities. Without the support of the Marlborough community, this would not have been possible. We hope to continue on this journey and enhance the children's education experience. Thank you for all your continued support!

E-SAFETY for parents
You may be aware that a recent social media challenge targeting children and young adults called ‘MoMo’ has created concern throughout the country due to its disturbing nature. The purpose of this letter is to make you aware of this game, provide you with information about it, and urge you to monitor your children’s use of social media and the Internet. The ‘MoMo Challenge,’ a game found on Facebook and the app, WhatsApp, features a sinister looking female avatar who asks its viewers to perform various disturbing tasks and provide photos as proof. The ‘MoMo’ threatens those who do not perform the tasks. Even without the game downloaded, MoMo references and images can be found on sites such as YouTube and through search engines, so an awareness of what your child is doing online is essential in protecting them. You can learn more about ‘MoMo’ and ways in which you can ensure your child’s safe online activity and presence by reading the parent guide attached. In agreement with the NSPCC, we strongly recommend that you speak to your children about keeping themselves safe online. We also advise you check your parental controls and search histories. Many excellent tips and guidance can be found on the NSPCC’s website on how to do this. These can be accessed at www.nspcc.org. CEOP also has great resources to help your child understand e-safety in a fun, interactive way. There website includes a section with advice for parents: https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/ Thank you for taking the time to read this important information. If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to come into school to speak with either your child’s class teacher, Miss Leon, Computing Subject Leader or a member of our designated safeguarding team. Thank you for your continued support. Daphne Byron

Chick eggs arrival- week beginning 25th February
The chicken eggs arrived in Reception on Thursday and the children were all
excited to see the eggs hatch. One by one the chicks hatched and by the end of
the week we had 14 chicks. The children learnt how to take care of the chicks
and a chicken’s life cycle. The children got a chance to hold the chicks which
they all loved.

Thursday 28th February Boys Football Team attended Harrow Primary Football Tournament. The boys displayed a great performance winning a match in the phase group. Unfortunately we didn’t reach the finals. Everyone had a fantastic day playing against lots of other schools. Thank you to all the parents and teachers who came to cheer us on!
On 5th March I and a group of Marlborough swimmers went to a swimming gala. It was very challenging because most of the swimmers were very talented and fast. I raced the other boys and I came second. I was very proud of myself, I didn’t come first but at least I tried! Levi – 4 Lincoln For the third consecutive year Marlborough school attended Harrow Swimming Gala. The team showed skills which they had worked on during swimming lessons and After School Clubs. A special congratulations Levi who came 2nd out of 20 talented swimmers in the backstroke race.
