Established in 1926, Northcote High is a vibrant co-educational public school in the inner north of Melbourne. The school has a rich intellectual culture that promotes connection with the community and learning. Northcote High is a proudly local school appreciated by its community with an enrolment of some 1800 students across Years 7-12 and 150 staff.

After graduating from the University of Melbourne where she majored in Actuarial Studies, Xing has become a young leader in the international business world. She co-founded the China Business Forum, which has attracted high-
from businesses, academia and politics to address the changing dynamics in China.
Jin Can achieved full marks in VCE Physics and received the Physics Award by the University of Melbourne in 2007. He graduated from The University of Melbourne, majoring in Actuarial Studies. Jin Can received a full scholarship to the University of Melbourne for a PHD degree in Actuarial Studies. He is now a university lecturer in Australia.
My Hanh Vu
International Student to become the school female Dux in 2010. She was also voted an International Student Captain during her time at NHS. After graduating from the University of Melbourne, My Hanh has been teaching Math and Science in a Government Secondary School.
Chau demonstrated a strong commitment to her studies at NHS and she was Victoria’s Year 11 Academic Excellence Award Finalist in 2015. Chau was voted an International Student Captain in 2015 and she was a strong advocate for fellow International Students. Chua is currently studying Civil Engineering and Infrastructure at RMIT University in Melbourne.

Our school is renowned for its academic excel-lence and dedicated, innovative teaching that ap-peals to students worldwide.
Over many years our well-established International Student Program has welcomed students from Vietnam, China, Thailand, Cambodia, Burma, Taiwan, Macao, Korea, Japan, France, Germany, Brazil and many more countries. Our international students enrol in Years 10, 11 and 12 and complete their Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE). We also enrol our students in an intensive English Lan-guage course (ELC) which prepares them for com-mencement in the mainstream Year 10 program.
They experience the creative and exciting learning journey the school community offers whilst working towards their Victorian Certificate of Education.

Kiarash Nikoo – 2018Tehran, IranATAR score: 99.20Kiarash was the prestigious school Dux in 2018. He gained an Academic Excellence Commendation Award in the Victoria Global Education Awards. Kiarash was also the founder of the Enigma maths club and a key member in the debating team. Kiarash’s music talent saw him playing violin in many major school events. Kiarash is currently studying a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne.
Wendan Xiao – 2018Guangzhou, ChinaATAR score: 97.7Wendan is a highly motivated student who made a great contribution to the school through music performance, student leadership and academic achievement. Her dedication to her studies has resulted in an excellent ATAR of 97.7 which gained her a place at the University of Melbourne in a Bachelor of Bio-Medical Science.
Tran, Duc Manh (Marcus) - 2019 Hanoi, VietnamATAR score: 99.4Marcus was the preastigious school Dux in 2019. He received Sir Gustav Nossal Award which is the Dux of Mathematics and Science. He also received the Outstanding Achievement Award for Chemistry and Outstanding Citizenship Award for his Peer Support contribution.Marcus is currently studying a Bachelor of Biomedicine at the University of Melbourne.
Vu, Duc Binh (Brian) - 2019Hanoi, VietnamATAR score: 99.15Brian received the Outstanding Achievement Award for EAL in which he received the perfect study score of 50. He also received an Outstanding Citizenship Award for his Peer Support contribution.Brian is currently studying a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne.
Chu, Khanh Linh (Lisa) - 2020Ha Nam, VietnamATAR score: 97.15Lisa’s outstanding ATAR score was 97.15. She was the Dux of the International Student cohort in 2020. Her excellent academic abil ity and total commitment was highly acknowledged by all her teachers and peers. Lisa is currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Melbourne.
Li, Jin Xuan (David) - 2020Guangdong, ChinaATAR score: 96.61David received the outstanding achievement award for Maths Methods and Specialist Maths. He also received outstanding Citizenship Award for his contribution to the Northcote High School Music Program and for his participation in Northcote High School sporting teams.David is currently studying a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne.
Do, Bao Anh (Mia) - 2020Hanoi, VietnamATAR score: 96.20Mia demonstrated very strong leadership skil ls and was elected as one of the Northcote High School captains in 2020 and the International Student captain in 2019. She received the Gray Citizenship Award for her overall contribution and in addition outstanding Citizenship Awards for her participation in Sport, Debating and Leadership.Mia is currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Melbourne.
