    About your device

    The wireless device described in thisguide is approved for use on the (E)GSM

    850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHznetworks, and UMTS 900 and 2100 MHzHSDPA and HSUPA networks. Contactyour service provider for moreinformation about networks.

    Your device supports severalconnectivity methods and likecomputers may be exposed to virusesand other harmful content. Exercisecaution with messages, connectivityrequests, browsing, and downloads.Only install and use services andsoftware from trustworthy sourcesthat offer adequate security andprotection, such as applications thatare Symbian Signed or have passed theJava Verified testing.     Office applications

    The office applications supportcommon features of Microsoft Word,PowerPoint, and Excel (Microsoft Office2000, XP, and 2003). Not all file formatsare supported.

    Network services

    To use the device you must haveservice from a wireless service

    provider. Some features are notavailable on all networks; otherfeatures may require that you makespecific arrangements with yourservice provider to use them. Networkservices involve transmission of data.Check with your service provider fordetails about fees in your homenetwork and when roaming on other

    networks. Your service provider canexplain what charges will apply. Somenetworks may have limitations thataffect how you can use some featuresof this device requiring networksupport such as support for specifictechnologies like WAP 2.0 protocols(HTTP and SSL) that run on TCP/IPprotocols and language-dependentcharacters.

    Your service provider may haverequested that certain features bedisabled or not activated in yourdevice. If so, these features will notappear on your device menu. Yourdevice may also have customizeditems such as menu names, menuorder, and icons.

    Insert SIM card and battery

    1 To remove the back cover of thedevice, pull the release button (1)toward the bottom of the device,and lift the cover off (2).

    2 Slide the SIM card into the SIM cardholder. Make sure the contact areais facing down. The battery mustbe removed before you can insertthe SIM card.

    3 Insert the battery.

    4 To replace the back cover, carefullyalign the top lugs (1), and line upthe back cover, then gently pressdown until the cover locks intoplace (2).

    Insert a memory card

    The memory card may be suppliedwith the device, and may already beinserted.

    1 Open the memory card slot cover.

    2 Place the card in the slot with thecontact area facing up.

    3 Push the card gently to lock it intoplace. Close the slot cover.

    Wrist strap

    Thread the wrist strap, and tighten it.

    Charge the battery

    Your battery has been partiallycharged at the factory, but you mayneed to recharge it before you can

    switch on your device for the first time.

    If the device indicates a low charge, dothe following:

    1 Connect the charger to a walloutlet.

    2 Connect the charger to the device.

    3 When the battery is fully charged,

    disconnect the charger from thedevice, then from the wall outlet.

    You do not need to charge the batteryfor a specific length of time, and youcan use the device while it is charging.If the battery is completely discharged,it may take several minutes before thecharging indicator appears on the

    display or before any calls can bemade.

    USB charging

    You can use USB charging when a walloutlet is not available. When chargingyour device with the USB data cable,the charging time is longer. USBcharging efficiency varies significantly.In some cases, it may take a very longtime for charging to start and thedevice to start functioning.

    With USB charging, you can alsotransfer data with the USB data cablewhile charging the device.

    1 Connect a compatible USB deviceto your device using a compatibleUSB data cable.

    Depending on the type of thedevice that is used for charging, itmay take a while for charging tostart.

    2 If the device is switched on, selectfrom the available USB modeoptions on the display of thedevice.

    Switch the device on and off

    Press and hold the power key to switchthe device on and off. Press the powerkey briefly to end a call or close anapplication.

    If the device asks for a PIN code, enterthe PIN code, and select OK.

    If the device asks for the lock code,enter the lock code, and select OK. Thefactory setting for the lock code is12345.

    To set the correct time zone, time, anddate, select the country you arepresently in, then enter the local timeand date.

    Keypad lock (keyguard)To lock the keypad in the home screen,press the left selection key and *within 1.5 seconds.

    To set the device to automatically lockthe keypad after a certain time, select

    > Settings> SettingsGeneral> Security> Phone and SIM

    card>Keypad autolock period>User defined, and select the desiredtime.

    To unlock the keypad, select Unlock,

    and press *. When the device or keypadis locked, calls may be possible to theofficial emergency numberprogrammed into your device.

    Volume control

    To adjust the earpiece or loudspeakervolume during a call or when listeningto an audio file, use the volume keys.

    To activate or deactivate theloudspeaker during a call, selectLoudsp.or Handset.

    Warning:Continuous exposure to high volumemay damage your hearing. Listen tomusic at a moderate level, and do not

    hold the device near your ear when theloudspeaker is in use.

    Connect a compatible headset

    Do not connect products that create anoutput signal as this may causedamage to the device. Do not connectany voltage source to the Nokia AVConnector.

    When connecting any external deviceor any headset, other than thoseapproved by Nokia for use with thisdevice, to the Nokia AV Connector, payspecial attention to volume levels.

    Antenna locations

    Your device may have internal andexternal antennas. Avoid touching the

    antenna area unnecessarily while theantenna is transmitting or receiving.Contact with antennas affects thecommunication quality and may causea higher power level during operationand may reduce the battery life.

    Transfer content from another

    deviceSelect > Settings> Switch.

    With the Switch application, you cantransfer content, such as contacts,between two compatible Nokiadevices.

    The type of content that can betransferred depends on the model ofthe device from which you want totransfer content. If the other devicesupports synchronisation, you can alsosynchronise data between the otherdevice and your device. Your devicenotifies you if the other device is notcompatible.

    If the other device cannot be switchedon without a SIM card, you can insertyour SIM card in it. When your device isswitched on without a SIM card, theoffline profile is automaticallyactivated.

    The other device must supportBluetooth connectivity.

    Transfer content

    To retrieve data from your other devicefor the first time:

    1 Activate Bluetooth connectivity inboth devices.

    2 Select the device from which youwant to transfer content. You areasked to enter a code on yourdevice. Enter a code (1-16 digits),and select OK. Enter the same codeon the other device, and selectOK. The devices are now paired.

    For some device models, theSwitch application is sent to theother device as a message. Toinstall the Switch application onthe other device, open themessage, and follow theinstructions.

    3 From your device, select thecontent you want to transfer fromthe other device.

    Content is transferred from the

    memory of the other device to thecorresponding location in your device.

    Transfer time depends on the amountof data to be transferred. You cancancel the transfer and continue later.

    The synchronisation is two-way, andthe data in both devices is the same. Ifan item is deleted from either device,

    it is deleted from the other devicewhen synchronising; you cannotrestore deleted items bysynchronising.

    To view the log of the last transfer,select a shortcut in the main view andOptions> View log.

    Install Ovi Suite

    With the Nokia Ovi Suite application forPC, you can easily access the files onyour Nokia C5-00, your other Nokiadevices, and Ovi, all from a single view.You can transfer and synchronisemessages, contacts, images, music,and more between your computer anddevice. You can also register for a

    Nokia account, share your images onOvi, update your device software,download maps, and keep yourcontent secure and accessible.

    For more information, go to thesupport area at www.ovi.com.

    For information on how to install OviSuite, see the included Ovi Suite leaflet.

    If you do not want to install Ovi Suite,you can delete the installation files

    from the memory card to increase theavailable memory on the card.

    Ovi by Nokia

    With Ovi by Nokia, you can findnew places and services, and stay intouch with your friends. You can do, forexample, the following:

    Download games, applications,videos, and ringtones to yourdevice

    Find your way with free walk anddrive navigation, plan trips, andview locations on a map

    Get a free Ovi Mail account

    Some items are free of charge, othersyou may need to pay for.

    The available services may also vary bycountry or region, and not alllanguages are supported.

    your credit card or in your phone bill.The availability of payment methodsdepends on your country of residenceand your network service provider. OviStore offers content that is compatiblewith your mobile device and relevantto your tastes and location.

    Remove a memory card

    Important: Do not remove thememory card during an operationwhen the card is being accessed. Doingso may damage the memory card and

    the device, and corrupt data stored onthe card.

    1 Press the power key briefly, andselect Remove memory card>Yes.

    2 Open the memory card slot cover.

    3 Press the memory card gently torelease it.

    4 Pull the card out, and select OK.5 Close the slot cover.

    Remove battery and SIM card

    1 To remove the back cover of thedevice, pull the release button (1)toward the bottom of the device,and lift the cover off (2).

    2 Remove the battery.

    3 Carefully pull the SIM card out ofthe SIM card holder.

    Basic use

    Write textTraditional text input

    indicates traditional text input.

    and indicate theuppercase and lowercase.indicates the sentence case, that is, thefirst letter of the sentence is written inuppercase and all the other letters areautomatically written in lowercase.

    indicates number mode.

    To write text with the keypad, press a

    number key, 2-9, repeatedly until thedesired character is displayed. Thereare more characters available for anumber key than are printed on thekey. If the next letter is located on thesame key as the present one, wait untilthe cursor is displayed, and enter theletter.

    To insert a number, press and hold thenumber key.

    To switch between the different

    character cases and modes, press #.

    To erase a character, press the clearkey. Press and hold the clear key toerase more than one character.

    To enter the most commonpunctuation marks, press 1repeatedlyuntil the desired punctuation mark isdisplayed.

    To add special characters, press andhold *.

    To add a smiley, press *, and selectMore emoticonsand a smiley.

    To insert a space, press 0. To insert aline break, press 0three times.

    Predictive text input

    1 To activate or deactivatepredictive text input, press #twicequickly. This activates ordeactivates predictive text inputfor all editors in the device.

    indicates that predictivetext input is activated.

    2 To write the desired word, pressthe keys 2-9. Press each key oncefor each letter.

    3 When you have finished writingthe word, and it is correct, scrollright to confirm it, or press 0toadd a space.

    If the word is not correct, press *repeatedly to view the matchingwords in the dictionary.

    If the ? character is displayed after

    the word, the word you intendedto write is not in the dictionary. Toadd a word to the dictionary,select Spell, enter the word (up to32 letters) using traditional textinput, and select OK. The word isadded to the dictionary. When thedictionary is full, the new wordreplaces the oldest added word.

    Write the first part of a compoundword; to confirm it, scroll right. Writethe second part of the compoundword. To complete the compoundword, press 0to add a space.

    Change the writing language

    When you are writing text, you canchange the writing language. Forexample, if you press the 6 keyrepeatedly to reach a specificcharacter, changing the writinglanguage gives you access tocharacters in a different order.

    If you are writing text using a non-Latin alphabet and want to write Latincharacters, for example e-mail or webaddresses, you may need to change thewriting language. To change thewriting language, select Options>Input options>Writing language,and a writing language that uses Latincharacters.

    Copy and delete text

    To delete the selected text, pressthe clear key C.

    3 To paste the text, scroll to thedesired location, press and hold#, and at the same time selectPaste.

    Menu

    Press .

    In the menu, you can access thefunctions in your device.

    To open an application or a folder,select the item.

    If you change the order of thefunctions in the menu, the order maydiffer from the default order describedin this user guide.

    To change the menu view, selectOptions> Change Menu view.

    To close an application or a folder,select Options> Exit.

    To display and switch between open

    applications, press and hold the homekey, and select an application.

    Leaving applications running in thebackground increases the demand on

    battery power and reduces the batterylife.

    Display indicators

    The device is being used in a 3Gnetwork or a GSM network(network service). The bar nextto the icon indicates the signalstrength of the network at yourcurrent location. The higher thebar, the stronger the signal.

    High-speed downlink packet

    access (HSDPA) / high-speeduplink packet access (HSUPA)(network service) in the 3Gnetwork is activated.

    You have activated the offlineprofile, and the device is notconnected to a cellular network.

    The battery charge level. Thehigher the bar, the more chargeremains in the battery.

    You have unread messages in theInbox folder in Messaging. If theindicator is blinking, your Inboxis full and you need to removeold messages from the Inbox

    before you can receive newmessages.

    You have received new e-mail inthe remote mailbox.

    Call a phone numberusing speed dialling. Toactivate speed dialling,select > Settings>

    Settings Phone>Call> Speed dialling.

    Offline profile

    To quickly activate the Offline profile,press the power key briefly, and selectOffline.

    To switch to another profile, press thepower key briefly, and select a profile.

    When the Offline profile is active, allconnections that use radio frequenciesare closed. However, you can use your

    device without the SIM card and listento the radio or music. Remember toswitch off your device when wirelessphone use is prohibited.

    Important: In the Offlineprofile you cannot make or receive anycalls, or use other features that requirecellular network coverage. Calls may

    still be possible to the officialemergency number programmed intoyour device. To make calls, you mustfirst activate the phone function bychanging profiles. If the device hasbeen locked, enter the lock code.

    Access codes

    Select > Settings> Settings.

    To define how your device uses theaccess codes and security settings,select General> Security> Phoneand SIM cardand from the following:

    The PIN (UPIN) code, supplied withthe SIM (USIM) card, helps toprotect the card againstunauthorised use.

    The PIN2 (UPIN2) code, suppliedwith some SIM (USIM) cards, isrequired to access certain services.

    PUK (UPUK) and PUK2 (UPUK2)

    codes may be supplied with theSIM (USIM) card. If you enter thePIN code incorrectly three times insuccession, you are asked for thePUK code. If the codes are notsupplied, contact your serviceprovider.

    The security code helps to protectyour phone against unauthoriseduse. You can create and change the

    code, and set the phone to requestthe code. Keep the code secret andin a safe place separate from yourphone. If you forget the code andyour phone is locked, your phonewill require service. Additionalcharges may apply, and all thepersonal data in your device maybe deleted. For more information,

    contact a Nokia Care point or yourdevice dealer.

    The barring password is requiredwhen using the call barring serviceto restrict calls to and from yourphone (network service).

    Configuration settings

    Before you can use multimediamessaging, e-mail, synchronisation,streaming, and the browser, you musthave the proper configuration settingsin your device. Your device mayautomatically configure browser,multimedia messaging, access point,and streaming settings based on theSIM card used. If not, you can use theSettings wizard application to

    configure the settings. You mayreceive the settings as a configurationmessage that you can save to yourdevice. For more information onavailability, contact your serviceprovider or nearest authorised Nokiadealer.

    When you receive a configurationmessage, and the settings are notautomatically saved and activated, 1new messageis displayed. To savethe settings, select Show>Options> Save. You may need toenter a PIN code provided by theservice provider.

    Settings wizard

    With Settings wizard, you can define e-mail and connection settings. Theavailability of the items in Settingswizard depends on the features of thedevice, SIM card, service provider, andthe data in the Settings wizard

    database.

    Select > Settings> Sett.wizard.

    To get the best results when usingSettings wizard, keep your SIM cardinserted in the device. If the SIM card isnot inserted, follow the instructions onthe display.

    Select from the following:

    Operator Define the operator-specific settings, such as MMS, internet,WAP, and streaming settings.

    E-mail setup Configure a POP,IMAP, or Mail for Exchange account.

    Remote lock

    You can lock your device from anotherdevice using a text message. To enableyour device to be locked remotely, andto define the lock message to be used,select > Settings> Settings>General> Security Phone andSIM card>Remote phone locking.When you have entered the message,select OK. The message can be up to 20characters long.

    To lock your device, send the lockmessage as a text message to yourmobile phone number. To unlock yourdevice later, select Unlock, and enterthe lock code.

    Home screen

    When you have switched on thedevice, and it is registered to anetwork, the device is in the homescreen and ready for use.

    To open a list of most recently diallednumbers, press the call key.

    To call your voice mailbox, press andhold 1.

    To use voice commands or voicedialling, press and hold the rightselection key.

    To change the profile, press the powerkey briefly, and select a profile.

    To open a connection to the web, pressand hold 0.

    To modify the home screen, select> Settings> Settings

    General> Personalisation>Standby modeand from thefollowing:

    Standby theme Select a homescreen theme.

    Shortcuts Add shortcuts toapplications or events, or assignshortcuts to the scroll key, dependingon the selected home screen theme.

    Contacts bar

    To add a contact to your home screen,select the Add contact icon and acontact from the list.

    To create a new contact, selectOptions>New contact, enter thedetails, and select Done. You can alsoadd an image to the contactinformation.

    To listen to the entries in your contactslist, select Call features> Contacts.

    To listen to information on yourmissed and received calls, and diallednumbers, select Call features>Recent calls.

    To make a call by entering the phonenumber, select Call features>Diallerand the desired numbers. Toenter a phone number, scroll to the

    digits and select them one by one.

    To call your voice mailbox, select Callfeatures> Voice mailbox.

    To use voice commands to make a call,select Voice commands.

    To have your received messages read

    aloud, select Message reader.

    To listen to the available options,select Options.

    Profiles

    Select > Settings> Profiles.

    You can adjust and customise theringing tones, alert tones, and otherdevice tones for different events,environments, or caller groups. The

    active profile is shown at the top of thedisplay in the standby mode. However,if the active profile is General, onlytoday's date is shown.

    To create a new profile, selectOptions> Create new, and define thesettings.

    To customise a profile, select a profile

    and Options> Personalise.

    To activate a profile, select a profileand Options>Activate.

    To set the profile to be active until acertain time within the next 24 hours,scroll to the profile, select Options>Timed, and set the time. When thetime expires, the profile changes backto the previously active non-timedprofile. When the profile is timed,is displayed in the standby mode. TheOffline profile cannot be timed.

    To delete a profile that you created,select Options>Delete profile. Youcannot delete the predefined profiles.

    When the Offline profile is activated,your connection to the cellularnetwork is closed. All radio frequencysignals between the device and thecellular network are prevented. If youtry to send a message, it is placed inthe Outbox folder, and is sent onlywhen another profile is activated.

    You can also use your device without aSIM card. If you remove the SIM card,the Offline profile is activated.

    Important: In the Offline

    profile you cannot make or receive anycalls, or use other features that requirecellular network coverage. Calls maystill be possible to the officialemergency number programmed intoyour device. To make calls, you mustfirst activate the phone function bychanging profiles. If the device hasbeen locked, enter the lock code.

    When you use the Offline profile, youcan still use Bluetooth connectivity.Remember to comply with anyapplicable safety requirements whenyou establish and use a Bluetoothconnection.

    To make a call, enter the phonenumber, including the area code, andpress the call key.

    To end the call or cancel the callattempt, press the end key.

    To make a call using the savedcontacts, open the contacts. Enter thefirst letters of the name, scroll to thename, and press the call key.

    To make a call using the log, press thecall key to view up to 20 numbers thatyou last called or attempted to call.Scroll to the desired number or name,and press the call key.

    To adjust the volume of an active call,use the volume keys.

    To switch from a voice call to a video

    call, select Options> Switch to videocall. The device ends the voice call andmakes a video call to the recipient.

    Answer a call

    To answer a call, press the call key.

    To reject a call, press the end key.

    To mute the ringing tone instead ofanswering a call, select Silence.

    When you have an active call and thecall waiting feature (network service)is activated, to answer a new incomingcall, press the call key. The first call is

    put on hold. To end the active call,press the end key.

    Make a video call

    To make a video call, enter the phonenumber or select the recipient from thecontacts list and Options> Call>Video call. When the video call starts,the camera of the device is activated.If the camera is already in use, videosending is disabled. If the recipient ofthe call does not want to send video

    back to you, a still image is showninstead. To define the still image sentfrom your device instead of video,select > Settings> SettingsPhone> Call> Image in video call.

    To disable the sending of audio, video,or video and audio, select Options>Disable> Sending audio, Sendingvideo, or Sending aud. & video.

    To adjust the volume of an active videocall, use the volume keys.

    To use the loudspeaker, selectOptions>Activate loudspeaker. Tomute the loudspeaker and use theearpiece, select Options>Activatehandset.

    To swap the places of images, selectOptions> Swap images.

    To zoom the image on the display,select Options> Zoomand scroll upor down.

    To divert calls to your voice mailbox,select a call type, a diverting option,andOptions> Activate> To voicemailbox.

    To divert calls to another phonenumber, select a call type, a divertingoption, and Options>Activate> Toother number. Enter the number, orselect Findto retrieve a number saved

    in Contacts.

    To check the current diverting status,scroll to the diverting option, andselect Options> Check status.

    When you allow synchronisation, you

    are able to view your contacts'Facebook profile information, such astheir picture and status updates, in theContacts application on your device.You are also informed of how manycontacts were synchronised.

    After sychronisation, the Contacts icon

    is visible on your friends' profile,

    and you can call and send messagesalso using the Facebook application.

    Synchronising your contacts andretrieving status updates are networkservices. Roaming and data transfercharges may apply. If the socialnetworking service is not available orfunctioning correctly, you may not beable to synchronise or retrieve statusupdates.

    This feature may not be available incertain regions.

    Link your online friends to yourcontacts list

    You can link your friends' Facebookprofiles to their contact information in

    your device. After this, you can see your

    friends' latest status updates in yourcontacts list and contact them usingthe Facebook application.

    Select > Applications>

    When you use the Facebookapplication for the first time, you areprompted to synchronise theapplication with Contacts, to link yourFacebook friends to your contacts list.

    To synchronise the Facebookapplication later, in the Facebook

    To define a ringing tone for a contactor a contact group, select the contact

    About messagingWith Messaging (network service), youcan send and receive text, multimedia,audio, and e-mail messages. You canalso receive web service messages, cellbroadcast messages, and specialmessages containing data, and sendservice commands.

    The available messaging types mayvary. For more information, contactyour service provider.

    Before sending or receiving messages,you may need to do the following:

    Insert a valid SIM card in the deviceand be located in the service areaof a cellular network.

    Verify that the network supports

    the messaging features you wantto use and that they are activatedon your SIM card.

    Define the internet access pointsettings on the device.

    Define the e-mail account settingson the device.

    Define the text message settingson the device.

    Define the multimedia messagesettings on the device.

    The device may recognise the SIM cardprovider and automatically configuresome of the message settings. If not,you may need to define the settingsmanually; or contact your serviceprovider to configure the settings.

    The appearance of a picture messagemay vary depending on the receivingdevice.

    Only devices that have compatiblefeatures can receive and displaymultimedia messages. Theappearance of a message may varydepending on the receiving device.

    Write and send messagesSelect >Messaging.

    Important: Exercise cautionwhen opening messages. Messagesmay contain malicious software orotherwise be harmful to your device orPC.

    Before you can create a multimediamessage or write an e-mail, you musthave the correct connection settings inplace.

    The wireless network may limit thesize of MMS messages. If the insertedpicture exceeds this limit, the devicemay make it smaller so that it can besent by MMS.

    Check the size limit of e-mail messageswith your service provider. If youattempt to send an e-mail messagethat exceeds the size limit of the e-mail

    server, the message is left in theOutbox folder, and the device attemptsto resend it periodically. Sending an e-mail requires a data connection, andcontinuous attempts to resend the e-mail may increase your data transfercosts. In the Outbox folder, you candelete such a message, or move it tothe Drafts folder.

    1 Select New message.

    2 To send a text or multimediamessage (MMS), select Message.To send a multimedia messagethat includes one sound clip, selectAudio message. To send an e-mail, select E-mail.

    3 In the To field, press the scroll keyto select recipients or groups from

    the contacts list, or enter therecipients phone number or e-mail address. To insert a semicolon(;) that separates the recipients,press *. You can also copy andpaste the number or address fromthe clipboard.

    4 In the subject field, enter thesubject of the message for amultimedia or an e-mail message.To hide or display fields whenwriting a text or multimediamessage, select Options>Message header fields.

    5 In the message field, write themessage. To add a template ornote to a text or multimediamessage, select Options> Insertcontent> Insert text>Templateor Note. To add atemplate to an e-mail message,

    select Options> Inserttemplate.

    6 To add a media file to amultimedia message, selectOptions> Insert content, the filetype or source, and the desired file.To add a business card, slide, note,or other file to the message, selectOptions> Insert content>

    Insert other.7 To capture an image or record a

    video or sound clip for amultimedia message, selectOptions> Insert content>Insert image>New, Insertvideo clip>New, or Insertsound clip>New.

    Your device supports text messagesbeyond the limit for a single message.Longer messages are sent as two ormore messages. Your service providermay charge accordingly. Characterswith accents, other marks, or somelanguage options take more space,and limit the number of charactersthat can be sent in a single message.

    You may not be able to send video clipsthat are saved in the MP4 file format orthat exceed the size limit of thewireless network in a multimediamessage.

    E-mailSet up your e-mail

    With the Nokia e-mail wizard, you canset up your corporate e-mail account,such as Microsoft Outlook or Mail forExchange, and your internet e-mailaccount.

    When setting up your corporate e-mail, you may be prompted for thename of the server associated withyour e-mail address. Ask your company

    IT department for details.

    1 On the home screen, select the e-mail wizard.

    2 Enter your e-mail address andpassword. If the wizard is not ableto configure your e-mail settingsautomatically, you need to select

    your e-mail account type and enterthe related account settings.

    If your device contains any additionale-mail clients, those are offered to you

    when you start the e-mail wizard.

    Send e-mail

    Select >Messaging.

    1 Select your mailbox andOptions> Create email.

    2 In the To field, enter the recipient'se-mail address. If the recipient's e-

    mail address can be found inContacts, start entering therecipient's name, and select therecipient from the proposedmatches. If you add severalrecipients, insert ;to separate thee-mail addresses. Use the Cc fieldto send a copy to other recipients,or the Bcc field to send a blind copyto recipients. If the Bcc field is not

    visible, select Options>More>Show Bcc field.

    3 In the Subject field, enter thesubject of the e-mail.

    You can also sync your contacts,calendar, and other content betweenyour Nokia device and Ovi. Yourimportant information is stored andkept up to date both in your device andon the web. With Ovi Contacts, you canmake your contacts list dynamic and

    Since devices using Bluetoothtechnology communicate using radiowaves, your device and the otherdevices do not need to be in direct line-of-sight.     To receive data using Bluetoothconnectivity, select Bluetooth>Onand My phone's visibility> Shownto allto receive data from a non-paired device or Hiddento receivedata from a paired device only. Whenyou receive data through Bluetoothconnectivity, depending on thesettings of an active profile, a tonesounds, and you are asked if you wantto accept the message in which thedata is included.     Web feeds and blogs

    With web feeds, you can easily follownews headlines and your favouriteblogs.

    Select >Web.

    Web feeds are XML files on web pages.They are used to share, for example,the latest news headlines or blogs. It iscommon to find web feeds on web,blog, and wiki pages.

    The browser application automaticallydetects if a web page contains webfeeds.

    Subscribe to a web feed when afeed is available on the page

    Select Options> Subscribe to webfeeds.

    Update a web feed

    About GPS

    The Global Positioning System (GPS) isoperated by the government of theUnited States, which is solelyresponsible for its accuracy andmaintenance. The accuracy of locationdata can be affected by adjustments toGPS satellites made by the UnitedStates government and is subject tochange with the United StatesDepartment of Defense civil GPS policyand the Federal Radionavigation Plan.Accuracy can also be affected by poorsatellite geometry. Availability and

    quality of GPS signals may be affectedby your location, buildings, naturalobstacles, and weather conditions.GPS signals may not be available insidebuildings or underground and may beimpaired by materials such as concreteand metal.

    GPS should not be used for preciselocation measurement, and youshould never rely solely on locationdata from the GPS receiver and cellularradio networks for positioning ornavigation.

    The trip meter has limited accuracy,and rounding errors may occur.Accuracy can also be affected byavailability and quality of GPS signals.

    The coordinates in the GPS areexpressed using the internationalWGS-84 coordinate system. The

    availability of the coordinates mayvary by region.

    The GPS of this device is not forprofessional positioning. GPSconnection time might also be affectedby weather, use environment, andother condition of use. GPS should onlybe used as a navigation aid and shouldnot be used for emergency or taskwhich requires more precisepositioning.

    Assisted GPS (A-GPS)

    Your device also supports assisted GPS(A-GPS).

    A-GPS requires network support.

    Assisted GPS (A-GPS) is used to retrieveassistance data over a packet dataconnection, which assists incalculating the coordinates of yourcurrent location when your device isreceiving signals from satellites.

    When you activate A-GPS, your devicereceives useful satellite information

    from an assistance data server over thecellular network. With the help ofassisted data, your device can obtainthe GPS position faster.

    Your device is preconfigured to use theNokia A-GPS service, if no serviceprovider-specific A-GPS settings areavailable. The assistance data isretrieved from the Nokia A-GPS serviceserver only when needed.

    Publish your current location toFacebook, together with text and apicture. Your Facebook friends can see

    2 Sign in to your Facebook account.

    Find a location

    Maps helps you find specific locationsand businesses.

    to the desired item. To display thelocation on the map, select Map.

    select the language of the voiceguidance, and download theappropriate files.

    Landmarks

    With Landmarks, you can save theposition information of specificlocations in your device. You can sortthe saved locations into differentcategories, such as business, and addother information to them, such asaddresses. You can use your savedlandmarks in compatible applications,such as GPS data.

    Select > Applications>Landmarks.

    The coordinates in the GPS areexpressed using the internationalWGS-84 coordinate system.

    Select Optionsand from the following:

    New landmark Create a new

    landmark. To make a positioningrequest for your current location,select Current position. To select thelocation from the map, select Selectfrom map. To enter the positioninformation manually, select Entermanually.

    Start the route guidance outdoors. Ifstarted indoors, the GPS receiver maynot receive the necessary informationfrom the satellites.

    Route guidance uses a rotatingcompass on the device display. A redball shows the direction to thedestination, and the approximate

    distance to it is shown inside thecompass ring.
