NSN IOT for RET equipments

NSN does not give out statements, test set-up or test reports regarding the RET interoperability with NSN BTS’s and NSN ALD’s.

The IOT testing that has been performed is relevant for NSN internal purposes only, assuring that the products that NSN procures from the Globally approved antenna vendors are compatible with the NSN BTS’s

NSN guarantee the RET interoperability with NSN BTS’s only when the items been delivered via NSN and are from Globally approved NSN antenna vendors.

Please note that an AISG2.0/3GPP compliant product does not automatically mean that it’s fully compliant with NSN BTS’s, as the AISG specification is not strict enough and allows variations.

RET actuators (CommScope Argus CVVPX310B1)

The Argus RET actuator is integrated in the antenna and can’t be replaced in the field.

Supported SW: AISG2.0/3GPP

Note that the fixed tilt or manual tilt antennas from Argus aren’t field upgradeable to support RET.The RET antennas have normally two RET-ports (input/output) for daisy-chain configuration.Antennas with integrated Smart Bias-T also available from CommScope Argus.

Supported SW: AISG2.0/3GPP

WCDMA BTS RET Commissioning (Kathrein - 1/3)Defining Antenna Line Management page you might set antenna line management related settings for antennas used in all radio modules present in the configuration.

Release 2 HW :

-DC Voltage shuld e active for all RFM Branchs.- RAN906, Felxi WCDMA BTS 3GPP

antenna tilt support feature should be active

Relase 3 HW :

No need to activate the DC voltage, FRGT is supporting AISG protocol via integrated Bias Tee

are controlled by the RET device, need to check installation and do the identification the serial number for the device

- Be sure that we are selecting the right device for the right sector

- Wrong Serial number selection might cause incorrect tilt functionality or cross sectors and Mismatch between EM Angle values and OSS related value.

RFID (RF Identification)

For antennas with an RFID tag, the information stored will be read by an RET actuator with an RFID reader when it is powered on.

On this RFID tag, all relevant antenna data is stored:• the antenna configuration file• the antenna serial number• the antenna model number • NOTE: not the sector id, azimuth or manual tilt angel

For antennas with an RFID tag, but with a RET actuator with no RFID reader, the RET configuration file to be uploaded based on the antenna type in use.

NOTE: The information read from the RFID tag can’t be overwritten by uploading another RET configuration file
