North High brings Footloose to stage in November When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, Ren is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. What he isn't prepared for are the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, determined to exercise the control over the town's youth that he cannot command in his own home. When the reverend's rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren's reputation, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid. The heartfelt story that emerges is of a father longing for the son he lost and of a young man aching for the father who walked out on him. Show times are scheduled for 7 p.m. on November 3-5 and 11-12, with matinees at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5 and Nov. 12. Tickets are $6 until October 29th. Tickets are $7 (students and seniors) and $9 (adults) after the 29th and at the door. You can purchase pre-sale tickets online for only $6 at www.northdrama.org. Cast and crew members are also taking pre-sale orders between now and Oct. 29.

Tickets for the “The Little Mermaid” are priced from $5-$10. Performances are Nov. 4 – Nov. 13.
