are only contrasted by the untainted wilderness that surrounds you. And this is just the first glance, on the first day. The fishing hasn’t even started. That’s when the real spoiling begins.

While the menu changes, the daily special remains the same: excellence. The morning breakfast is made-to-order. The shore lunch is mind-blowing. And the dinner is the five-course cherry on top. First its the mouthwateringappetizers, handcrafted soups and fresh salads. Then come the entrees—different everynight—from lobster tail and filet mignon tosignature chicken dishes and more. Day Three

Besides the lunkers at Tetu, you’ll also be measuring smiles. And like the fish, they tend to get bigger with every cast. Massive muskies. Monster pike. Smallies the size of footballs. And huge, golden-hued walleye. One reason they get so big at Tetu is simple: catch-and-release. This allows fish to thrive, and provides future anglers a chance at a once-in-a-lifetime catch. Sure, you’ll keep some shore-lunchers. But after a few pictures, and giving those smile muscles a workout, back in the water they gently go.

Don’t bring a rod. Or a reel. Or all the tackle you’ve gathered over the years. You won’t need it. Heck, you won’t even need to bait your own line. That’s because it’s all taken care of, thanks to one of the more special hallmarks of Tetu Island Lodge: the guide. These knowledgeable anglers outfit guests with the all latest fishing accoutrement, and tend to your every cast. Then, when it’s time for lunch, they shift gears to prepare you the most amazingly delicious shore lunch, complete with a cold beverage. Your only requirement is to sit back and take it all in.

THAT EXCITED. There’s no wrong way to get here. Float planes are exhilarating. And the boat service from our

private landing offers a peaceful ride with breathtaking views. All we ask is that you get here soon, and safe, then we’ll take care of the rest. To help answer any questions you may have, like arriving

and departing details or policies and activities, just review the following pages.

5) Activities Our lodge offers a beautiful lounge and game room, equipped with satellite TV, DVD player, billiards, shuffleboard, and a full-service bar. We also have yard games and several decks that offer beautiful sunrise and sunset views of Tetu Lake. Explore our island’s new walking trail, or visit one of the other islands for hiking or photography.

6) Gratuity Our staff works very hard to give you the best experience possible. Tipping is discretionary, but here are some guidelines and suggestions. Guides: $50-60 per day/per person. Dining Room/Housekeeping (covers kitchen staff, chefs, and laundry): $25-30 per day/per person. It is suggested that all tips be in cash, and given directly to our staff.

7) Alcohol Policy We’re happy to offer you a complimentary cocktail or two at dinnertime. If you’d like additional alcohol, you can bring your own. (See packing checklist for details.) Guests are also responsible for bringing beer for the boats. If you’d like, we can purchase beer and liquor for you, and have it waiting in your cabin. Please let us know at least two weeks in advance and we will add the cost to your total bill.

IMPORTANT: Our staff and guides are NOT allowed to consume alcohol at any time during their employment at Tetu Island Lodge.Please do not offer it to them. We appreciate your understanding of this important policy.

1) Getting Here Tetu Island Lodge is 60 miles northwest of Kenora, Ontario. It’s on the English-Winnipeg River system, just four miles east of the Manitoba border, and 3.5 hours from International Falls by car. Tetu is an island resort reachable only by boat or plane. If you drive, we’ll pick you up at the landing and transport you via boat. Or you can fly to International Falls or Winnipeg, and take a float plane to our dock. We recommend using Continental Travel in Winnipeg. For amazing service, call 1-800-665-2626.

2) DrivingFrom Kenora: Approaching Kenora, use either By-Pass 17A or 17, and continue to 596. You will lose cell phone reception at this intersection so please call us (807-224-3487 or 807-224-2600) so that we know when to send a boat to pick you up. Take 596 to 525. At this point you will turn left at River Air and take 525 until you cross White Dog Dam. You will see the Tetu Island Lodge landing sign just after the dam. Turn left and stay to the right. Continue up the hill for about one half-mile to the landing. Our staff should be there to greet you.

From Winnipeg Airport: Take Wellington Avenue from the airport to Route 90 N. Go east on Perimeter Highway until your reach HWY 1 (Trans-Canada HWY). Turn east, and go approx. 130 miles to Kenora. Please see above for directions from Kenora.

Important distances to note as you get closer:Hwy 17 to Hwy 596 = 19 miles.Hwy 596 to Hwy 525 = 25 miles.525 to Tetu boat landing at White Dog Dam = 17 miles.

3) Arrivals And Departures From the landing, boat pickups are at 8:00 am or 5:30 pm, depending on the package you’ve chosen. When planning, let us know which of these times is best for you. And to maximize our schedule, and minimize fuel usage, please stick to these pickup times.

Departures leave the Tetu Island Lodge dock promptly at 7:30 am and arrive at the landing by 8:00 am. It’s important for our staff to stay within this schedule, as we will have arriving guests waiting for us at the landing.

Arrivals and departures that vary from the times listed are subject to additional charges on a per person basis. Charges vary based on time and staff available. We thank you in advance for understanding.

4) Crossing The Border All U.S. citizens (adults and children) traveling between the United States and Canada by land or air are required to present a valid passport or other documents as determined by the Department of Homeland Security. Bring your passport and another form of ID just in case. Citizens of other countries may require a visitor visa. Children may require a birth certificate, and/or written permission if traveling without their legal guardian. If you have a felony or misdemeanor conviction (such as a DWI/DUI), you must contact a Canadian Consulate in the U.S. at least one year prior to your trip. for years.The days here create memories you’ll recall for years. But just

because Tetu is a once-in-a-lifetime fishing trip doesn’t mean it only has to happen once. Year after year, many of our quests return to enjoy “The Tetu Experience.” And each season we strive to make better, too. For 2019, we’re adding new carpet and new bedding

in all our cabins. And new docks at our landing and our lodge. So please, be our guest. Stay a few days. Or stay for a week.
