This creates a gloomy atmosphere .The white writing is used against the dark background to make it stand out.

Atmosphere

The use of the dull colours used in this opening sequence creates a gloomy atmosphere. The opening also uses shadows and highlighting and contrasting this creates a thrilling atmosphere.

Character

Throughout the frames, the camera has emphasised a characters hands. This shot shows someone drawing a little boy. This is important because it means the boy plays an important part in the film.
