The  Nican  Mopohua  of  the  Huei  tlamahuiçoltica      This document is presented in four side-by-side versions, Italian, mexicano (Nahuatl), Spanish, and English. The first three were presented together on one website: http://www.latheotokos.it/programmi/guadalupe/nican_mopohua.htm. These three versions separately number the 218 verses of the Nican Mopohua. Nican mopohua, motecpana, in Quenin, yancuican, huey tlamahuizoltica, monexiti in cenquizca ichpochtli Sancta Maria Dios inantzin tocihuapillatocatzin, in oncan Tepeyacac, motenehua Guadalupe.

Aquí se narra se ordena, cómo hace poco, milagrosamente se apareció la perfecta virgen santa maría madre de dios, nuestra reina, allá en el Tepeyac, de renombre Guadalupe.

Here it is told, and set down in order, how a short time ago the Perfect Virgin Holy Mary Mother of God, our Queen, miraculously appeared out at Tepeyac, widely known as Guadalupe.

Dapprima si fece vedere da un indio che aveva nome Juan Diego; poi apparve con la preziosa Immagine dinanzi a don fra Juan de Zumárraga, da poco nominato vescovo.

First She caused herself to be seen by an Indian named Juan Diego, poor but worthy of respect; and then her Precious Image appeared before the recently named Bishop, Don Fray Juan de Zumárraga.

12. Y cuando cesó de pronto el canto, cuando dejó de oírse, en­tonces oyó que lo llamaban, de arriba del cerrillo, le decían: "JUANITO, JUAN DIEGUITO". ���

12. And then when the singing suddenly stopped, when it could no longer be heard, he heard someone calling him, from the top of the hill, someone was saying to him: "Juan, Dearest Juan Diego."

13. Senza esitazione si diresse perciò verso il luogo da cui pro­veniva la voce. Non provava nessun turbamento, né alcuna cosa gli procurava timore. Anzi si sentiva allegro e il suo cuore era ricolmo di gioia. Cominciò così a salire la collina per vedere chi fosse a chiamarlo.

24. And he answered her: "My Lady, my Queen, my Beloved Maiden! I am going as far as your little house in Mexico-Tlatilolco, to follow the things of God (everything that makes God be God) that are given to us, that are taught to us by the ones who are the images of Our Lord: our priests."
