Watch Out For This Current Scam

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) issued a new warning to

US veterans about the current Social Security Administration (SSA) scam thatrsquos ripping off

thousands of veterans

The scam has already cost veterans millions of dollars this year

A new angle on an old scam is a non-stop robocall informing

veterans their SSA benefits will end soon

FTC shared a recording so people can be familiar with this heinous scam

(Ask to Listen to My 4 Saved Voicemails)

Robocall All your Social Security benefits will be canceled until further clearance In case

you feel this is due to an error you may

connect with legal Social Security Administration

In order to connect with a Social Security Administration officer press 1 now In case we do

not hear from you immediately your social security benefits will be blocked immediately

and permanently

Currently the social security scam is the top

complaint from veterans across the Nation

FTC says veterans filed nearly 33000 reports

already this year and they lost nearly $17 million

Just two years ago it had 850 veterans report losing nearly $210000

If youre getting these Social Security scam robocalls youre not alone

If you are contacted just hang up Even better dont answer the phone even if Caller ID

says its the Social Security Administration Dont call any phone number they give you

The Social Security Administration is clear they will never call you to threaten your benefits

if there is an issue with your benefits you would receive a letter The government agency

certainly wont

ask you to pay any type of fee or fine with gift cards either

VA is becoming smoke-free on Oct 1 2019 per VHA

Directive 1085

VHA Directive 1085 implements a smoke-free policy

for patients visitors contractors volunteers and

vendors at VA health care facilities VA Long Beach is

expanding the national effort to include a local smoke-free policy for employees

also effective on Oct 1 2019

This means that nobody will be able to smoke or use tobacco products on the

grounds of any VA facility The smoke-free policy applies to cigarettes cigars

pipes e-cigarettes vapes e-cigars and any combustion of tobacco
