School Year 2012-2013 Dear Parents, I would like to wish you all a ve ry warm w elcome to the school year. I am e xcited about be ginning this year that I will sh are with you and your child. On Wednes day, August 24 th at our Parent Night Open House I will be talking in detail about curriculum, ho mework, s pecial pro jects, field trips, e tc. Since that is a s everal days away, I have noted some of the classroom procedures below to help get us started. This is my second year teaching at SIS. Before being hired at SIS I spent the last two years teaching 4 th  grade at The American School of Bangkok in Thailand. I received my Bachelors of Education degree from Winona State University in Minnesota in th e fall of 2008. I am currently earning my Master’s degree in International Teaching.

About Me...

School Year 2012-2013

Dear Parents,

I would like to wish you all a very warm welcome to the school year. I am excitabout beginning this year that I will share with you and your child. On WednesdaAugust 24th at our Parent Night Open House I will be talking in detail abocurriculum, homework, special projects, field trips, etc. Since that is a several daaway, I have noted some of the classroom procedures below to help get us started.

SCHOOL DAY CLASSROOM VOLUNTEERS

Within the first few weeksof schoo l , 4B shou lddesignate a room parent forthe class. This person (orteam of people) is invaluable

for making our school yearrun smoothly . Pleaseconsider volunteering forthis job.

In addition, we often needvolunteers throughout the year to help with projects

or field trips. I will checkwith you at the Open Houseto see which parents areavailable to help with theseevents.

HOMEWORK

e SIS school day begins at00 AM and dismissal is at00 PM. Children may entere building at 7:45 and comethe classroom. If your

ld comes to school after00 AM, he or she shouldport to the Elementaryfice and a tardy will beported for the day. Lunchd recess run 10:45-11:45.fternoon recess runs05-1:35, and a snack break

Homework will begin within

the first week for our class.The fourth grade schoolpolicy for homework is about40 minutes a night. Theactivities will vary inaccordance with ourclassroom activities and willsupport those. 

Also, your child will beexpected to read for 30minutes each night inaddition to the otherhomework. If your child i

consistently unable tocomplete the homework,please contact me so I midiscuss any issues they mbe having.
