I start long service leave this Friday. Mrs Kim Cummings will be relieving for me from the beginning of week 7. I won’t be returning to school until Thursday of week 1 as I am a peer principal on an External Validation panel at Pendle Hill PS on Monday and Tuesday and the final day of my mindfulness training on the Wednesday. During this time, Mrs Robinson will do an outstanding job of leading the school. I received a very exciting email from staffing last week informing me that we are now entitled to an additional Assistant Principal. This will mean that Mrs Robinson will have someone to share her administration workload with (which she is very excited about). I’m currently in the process of putting the panel together to write the position criteria. The position will be advertised later this term, with the successful applicant beginning in 2019. It was great to see so many students embracing Book Week last week. A number of staff and students have commented to me ow much they enjoyed the teacher book sharing on Tuesday morning as well as the parade on Thursday. Thank you to Mrs Crozier for her Book Week organisation and of course to all of the Tarro PS staff, who go above and beyond to give the students great opportunities to learn outside of the classroom. I’d like to wish everyone a great remainder of the term, there are still many exciting things coming up including the Maitland Pickers Cup and touch football gala day, school disco in week 9 and the Big Breakfast in week 10. Looking forward to seeing everyone again in term 4. Kelly O’Shea Smiles on Site A reminder that the Smiles on Site dental van will arrive on Monday 3 rd September. from the beginning of week 7. I won’t be returning to school until

Thursday of week 1 as I am a peer principal on an External

Validation panel at Pendle Hill PS on Monday and Tuesday and

the final day of my mindfulness training on the Wednesday.

During this time, Mrs Robinson will do an outstanding job of

leading the school.

I received a very exciting email from staffing last week informing

me that we are now entitled to an additional Assistant Principal.

This will mean that Mrs Robinson will have someone to share her

administration workload with (which she is very excited about).

I’m currently in the process of putting the panel together to write

the position criteria. The position will be advertised later this

term, with the successful applicant beginning in 2019.

It was great to see so many students embracing Book Week last

week. A number of staff and students have commented to me

ow much they enjoyed the teacher book sharing on Tuesday

morning as well as the parade on Thursday. Thank you to Mrs

Crozier for her Book Week organisation and of course to all of

The time has come! The week is here, excitement is buzzing and

packing is happening!

Stage 3 are on their way down to the Illawarra coastline to visit

Old Mogo Town on Wednesday and will return on Friday night

(Week 6).

Please ensure all students medications are to the office, the Mon-

day (27th August) prior.

Students will be required to be at school at 5.30-5.40am on

Wednesday (29th August, 2018) morning. We will be returning on

Friday (31st August, 2018) at 7-7.15pm. Check our school Face-

book page for updates.

Stage 1 Tocal Excursion

Stage 1 had a fantastic time at Tocal on Friday. The staff at the

Homestead commended the students on their exemplary behav-

iour.

The students learnt lot of historical information about Tocal. They

enjoyed hearing the stories about “Captain Thunderbolt” the

bushranger who had previously worked at the homestead.

The students got to experience doing the washing as it would

have been done 150 years ago. They dressed up in 17th century

clothing, played old fashioned games and explored the house and

kitchen.

A big thank you to all of our wonderful parent helpers who en-

sured the students had a brilliant day.
