Pride We are extremely proud of our Year 6 children who demonstrated excellent maths skills on Wednesday when we had visitors from other schools.
Respect Wonderful respect shown by our choir this week whilst showcasing their skills within the local community.
Teamwork Children in the after school dance club, worked collaboratively by supporting each other with the movements instructed by the dance teacher. Great job everyone!
Resilience Three children in Year 3 demonstrated resilience in their writing never giving up when they found something difficult. Wonderful handwriting, well done.
Curiosity Children in reception demonstrated curiosity during their free flow activity time discussing shopping lists and their favourite types of fruit.
Coding Club
If your child is attending Coding Club it is essential that they attend every week as each session will build on the session before. We will running a step by step programme. If your child does not want to attend in January then please ensure you inform the office as there are lots of children on the waiting list who would like a place. Thank you for your co-operation.
Last day of term is Friday 21st December and the whole school including nursery finishes at 1.30pm that day. There will be no afternoon nursery session that day.
Operation Encompass
The school has been given the opportunity to take part in a project that will run jointly between schools and the Metropolitan Police.
Operation Encompass is the reporting to schools by police prior to the start of the next school day, when a child or young person has been exposed to, or involved in, any domestic incident involving police intervention.
Operation Encompass will ensure that a member of the school staff, known as a Dedi-cated Safeguarding Lead, is trained to allow them to liaise with the police and to use the information that has been shared, in confidence, whilst ensuring that the school is able to make provision for possible difficulties experienced by children, or their families, who have been involved in, or exposed to, a domestic abuse incident.
We are keen to offer the best support possible to all our pupils and we believe this will be extremely beneficial for all those involved.
The school choir will be performing on the playground at 8.30am on Thursday 20th December for parents/carers. Please come along to see how amazing they are! If your child is in the choir please make sure they are in for 8.25am to get ready to perform!
Speech and Language Workshop
Our Speech and Language Therapist Marissa will be in school on Thursday 20th December at 9am and will be holding a workshop for parents. Please come along if you would like to discuss anything relating to your child’s speech and language needs.
Now that the temperature has really dropped, please ensure your child comes to school wearing hats and gloves.
Contract Dining Company
On Thursday the children enjoyed chilli
con carne with rice with a chocolate raspberry crunch for dessert for
their school meal.
Scholastic Book Fair
Thank you to those who attended the Scholastic Book Fair - we sold £249.47 worth of books which we get a percentage of which is amazing!
Year 3 Trip
On Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th December, year 3 went to the City of London Police Museum. We travelled by train to Cannon Street. We met two ladies called Kim and Bella and they told us interested fact about how the Police were started. We found out that the City of London have their own police force and that they are governed by the Guild Hall. The first police offers were called Charlies (after King Charles) and they were often old and ineffective. They would use rattles to get other police officers attention. Year 3 had a great day out and were very well behaved!

Hall Place is a stunning Tudor house with mag-nificent gardens! Today you can imagine gen-teel life in Tudor times as you wander through the beautiful rooms, including the magnificent panelled great hall. Whatever the season, there is always a spectacular show in our award win-ning gardens. Our favourites include the stun-ning ‘Queen’s Beasts’ topiary sculptures, the herbaceous borders and the romantic wildflow-er meadow. In the glasshouses see the banana trees as well as fish and terrapins in the pond. Whilst at Hall Place & Gardens you can also enjoy a visit to our seasonal partners: Butterfly Jungles Experience and All About Owls. You will be able to walk amongst stunning free flying butterflies from around the world in a rainfor-est environment full to the brim with beautiful exotic flowers in the Butterfly Jungles Experi-ence. The plant centre offers a range of butter-fly attracting plants, shrubs and wild flowers and the tropical plant section sells all sorts of rare and exotics suitable for the greenhouse and conservatory. You can also meet captive owls and even get the chance to hold one. Meet Jambs Owls and their visitor-friendly barn owls, eagle owls and other species. Hear how the owls survive in the wild, what they like to eat and even learn about their nocturnal hab-its. There are several activities to take part in at Hall Place where you will be able to earn lots of stamps!
Learning Destination Nomination Form
Attached to this week’s newsletter is a Learning Destination
Nomination Form from The Children’s University. This letter is for
you to use if your child attends an after school or weekend club that
is not validated. If you fill out this form and return it to the school
office we will be able to contact Bexley and get this club validated so your child can continue to
earn their stamps. If you need anymore forms please collect them from the office.
There will be no phonics or maths morning workshops next week - these will resume in January.
If your child attends the 8.30am Lego Club then this will continue after Christmas.
