In EEE Energy is there, Excitement is there and what not Every- thing is there. Electric Energy is considered by many experts to be the most important source of power consumed by industry, commercial buildings, institutions and homes. Now a days, Hybrid renewable energy systems (HRES) are gaining popularity for remote area power generation applications due to advances in renewable energy technologies and to reduce the high cost of supplying electricity to re- mote areas. A hybrid energy system usually consists of two or more renewable energy sources used together to provide increased system efficiency as well as greater balance in energy supply. A hybrid power systems can provide a steady community-level electricity ser- vice, such as village electrification, offering also the possibility to be upgraded through grid connection in the future. The hybrid system can be designed fol- lowing different configurations to effectively use the locally available renew- able energy sources and to serve ALL power appliances (requiring DC or AC electricity). Let us increase awareness of the potential of renewable energy in the fight against climate change and poverty and accelerate the deployment and use of renewable energy technologies. It’s a great pleasure to share the EEE department progress in academic year

2010-2011. In EEE Energy is there, Excitement is there and what not Every-

thing is there.

Electric Energy is considered by many experts to be the most important source

of power consumed by industry, commercial buildings, institutions and homes.

Now a days, Hybrid renewable energy systems (HRES) are gaining popularity

HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLES

Ms.U.Sri UmaDevi & V.Sridevi presented a paper titled as “Motion less Electromagnetic

Generator ” in ANVESHANA 2011 held at Sasi Institute of Technology & Engineering .

Ms.A.Anusha presented a paper titled as “Power Electronic Converters in wind turbines and

photovoltaic generators ” in ANVESHANA 2011 held at Sasi Institute of Technology & Engi-

neering .

Ms.G.Keerthi presented a paper titled as “PHOTOVOLTAICS” in VALIANT 2K11 held at

Vishnu Institute of Technology.

A hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) is a type of which

combines conventional internal combustion en-

gine propulsion system with an electric propulsion system.

The presence of the electric power train is intended to

achieve either better fuel economy than a conventional ve-

hicle or better performance. There are a variety of HEV

types, and the degree to which they function as EVs varies

as well. The most common form of HEV is the hybrid elec-

tric car, although hybrid electric trucks and buses also exist.

TRIBRID TECHNOLOGY

Tribrids, the next generation of alternative fuel vehicles.

At a minimum, a Tribrid vehicle must be able to refuel at least in

part using “free energy” taken from the environment. There are

currently no practical Tribrid vehicles for sale to the general public.

A handful of electric vehicles do exist that are at least capable of

accepting some form of free energy, but to date they all lack the

range and conveniences that consumers have come to enjoy (or at

least are willing to pay for, both financially and environmentally) in

their ICE vehicles.

Intelligent Control Techniques”.held at Bapatla Engineering Col-

lege ,Bapatla during 6th- 11th ,Dec 2010.

HVDC-LIGHT TECHNOLOGY

HVDC Light is designed to transmit power un-

derground and under water, also over long distances.

It offers numerous environmental benefits, including

“invisible” power lines, neutral electromagnetic

fields, oil-free cables and compact converter stations.

HVDC Light increases the reliability of power grids,

and the technology extends the economical power

range of HVDC transmission down to just a few tens

of Megawatts (MW). In the upper range, the technol-

ogy now reaches 1,800 MW and ±500 kV.

The geothermal gradient, which is the difference in

temperature between the core of the planet and its surface,

drives a continuous conduction of thermal energy in the

form of heat from the core to the surface. Geothermal en-

ergy comes in either vapor-dominated or liquid-

dominated forms.

WIND TECHNOLOGY

This paper deals with the

wind power , as an alternative to fossil

fuels, is plentiful, renewable widely dis-

tributed , clean produces no greenhouse

gas emissions during operation and uses

littlie land. The effects on the environment

are generally less problematic than those

from other power sources.
