Preparation on Thursdays begins around 5 p.m. and Fridays between 11a.m. and 2 p.m. We need help with kitchen and dining room cleaning every Friday after the fish fries, which end around 7:45 pm. GRAND KNIGHT'S REPORT March is here. We are now in the Lenten season and near the end of the third quarter of our fraternal year. In April, we will be accepting officer nominations and all positions are open. Serving as an officer in Council 7600 is a rewarding experience, as I can personally attest. Our council will continue to focus on growing our membership. Our new membership director, Brother and Sir Knight John Olenoski, is serving in this capacity once again. We keep receiving Form 100’s, so keep them coming. As your Grand Knight, I would like to thank all our brother Knights and their families for all the work they have done to make our first fish dinner of the season a success. Each one of YOU are a blessing to the Knights of Columbus and Council 7600. John Hicks (512) 657-3234 [email protected]. LENT Lent is the season when Christians focus on: 1. Simple living and prayer. 2. Fasting, meditation and self-denial. 3. 40-days of self-discipline. It is easy to get caught up in life and work and for our lives to become filled with distractions that take us away from living a life of Christ. Lent is a time to repent and turn to God – and refocus our lives. Let God change your heart. How will you use this Lenten season to grow closer to God? John Hicks (512) 657-3234 ([email protected]) SATURDAY MORNING PRAYER MINISTRY. Our Deacons are leading a morning prayer group Saturdays at 7 a.m. in the Eucharistic Chapel. It lasts about 30 minutes. Please join Deacon Phil, Deacon Jack, Deacon John, and other Brother Knights for this fulfilling ministry.

FAMILY OF THE MONTH

Brother Knight Steve and Jennie Tedesco. Steve has been a Knight since September 18, 2008. He and Jennie are active members of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Steve is currently in the deaconate formation with approximately two years remaining and says Jennie is there with him every step of the way. Steve and Jennie are both Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors for the 10:30 a.m. Mass. They both work with the Community First Village for the homeless and have worked with this organization for the past one and half years. They hold prayer services every other month, if not on a monthly basis, and serve a meal afterward. Steve will soon be working with the

Baptismal classes. Finally, Steve has been working and overseeing the maintenance at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church for the past five years. Please congratulate Brother Steve and Jennie Tedesco as our Family of the Month. DEPUTY GRAND KNIGHT'S REPORT Springtime is here and that means, Fish Fries, Easter, Springfest, state convention, and much more. I hope everyone enjoyed the mild winter and is ready to do a little gardening, clean up, and getting things ready around the church for Springfest. Mardi Gras was loads of fun and now elections for both our council and assembly are around the corner. Please think about running for office or helping out with one of many committees we have going on all year. As I have said, it is always good to have new people taking over the reigns of the council and spreading the joy around. You will find that the more active you are and the more you volunteer to help, the more you always get out of whatever you are involved in. So get busy and start helping whenever you can at one of our many functions. Remember this Lenten season to take time to meditate and ponder on what is truly important in our life and how we can help others. Hope to see you all at one of our many functions this spring. Till the next time our eyes greet each other. Leo. Leo Saenz. 512.831.8516. [email protected]. Our regular member meetings are on the first Thursday of each month at 7:15p.m. in the Benish Center. KC 4th Degree Assembly 3688 (St. Rafael Guizar Valencia) meets at the Benish Center the second Thursday of each month at 7:15 p.m., beginning with the Rosary.

KNIGHT OF THE MONTH

Brother David Garcia has been a Knight of Columbus since Oct. 1, 1979. He is very active in the council and was a major player in our council installing the new ice machine just in time for our Mardi Gras dinner and dance and our first fish fry of the year. Our council is a much better one thanks to David. Please congratulate him as Knight of the Month for March 2017. Pro-Life Mass. Plan to attend the 6:30 p.m. Mass on the first Thursday of each month. This mass is sponsored by our council and is dedicated to “Greater Respect for Life.” YOUTH ACTIVITIES JamesPoche [email protected]____

[email protected] CHANCELLOR'S REPORT Chuck Ramos [email protected] 512-565-0835 COUNCIL DIRECTOR Titi Girma [email protected] FIELD AGENT FOR COUNCIL 7600 Loved-ones never regret their family member’s participation in our program. Gentlemen, I have said it many times before, but I will put it once again in writing: widows, widowers, and surviving children never, ever regret their lost loved-one’s participation in our life insurance program! Said differently, I have never had a widow send me away when I arrive with a beneficiary claims check or tell me “I don’t need this money.” To the contrary, what I hear in virtually every circumstance is much more along the lines of “this is absolutely incredible, almost a miracle, and I wish he had bought twice as much before he died.” Men, a successful, functioning plan to take care of your family when you pass on will not happen by accident. It cannot be left to chance. In the Marine Corps we used to say “proper prior planning prevents poor performance.” Take the steps now, while you are young and healthy, to protect your family. If you don’t happen to be young or healthy, don’t discount our program, there is something in it for everyone. We are

QUOTES OF THE MONTH “Remember that lent and ash Wednesday is not just about putting away the bad things. It is about creating good things and helping the poor and the needy, being kind to people and much more.” – Jacob Winters “It is not just about giving up our favorite food but it’s about going further and giving up things like hatred and unforgiveness. You need to clean your heart and prepare yourself for purity.” – Amanda Jobs
