Another strong scent of love blooms today as Mr. Ian and Ms. Angie walk their wedding march. Wishing them a heartful of happily ever after, let’s take a view of what love,

especially the new couple’s love, most likely is and will be. One says that love is unconditional. �ere might be disagreements against the statement, but I believe love should be almost unconditional as possible, if it really is impossible to be fully practiced. �e reason is simple; unconditional love is said to be the root of everything that can be beautiful, and the beauty it brings makes one’s life happier than ever. In my perspective, living a happy life is the ultimate purpose of human life. Mohandas Gandhi agrees with me as well, as he stated, “Love…is the law of our being.” I greatly look forward to Mr. Ian and Ms. Angie’s sharing of unconditional love or love almost as great as it is, so that they may feel the delight of being the perfect couple living the perfect life. Love seems to make paradise omnipresent. In addition to the overall happiness that unconditional love brings to life, it also makes everyday reality resemble absolute paradise. �e fact that one is together with the person he or she truly loves certainly gives a clear ambiance of living in a paradise. Every day, every minute, every moment and every place would approach the couple as a beautiful paradise, whatever they do. �ere’s no doubt that Giean is going to make their life radiant with all the paradises that exist at every corner of their matrimony. I sincerely wish that Mr. Ian and Ms. Angie will live the dream life filled with the beauty of unconditional love and the glitters of the paradises. Lastly I want to emphasize that their love must last LONG and FOREVER just as it seems to be, and I would like to conclude with the lyrics of Westlife’s song Flying Without Wings.

with Bangkok Voices, they’d been able to attend many concerts and social gatherings in Bangkok as well as international choral competitions overseas. �e couple expressed themselves freely on the sharps and flats of various musical scores, and while they were expressively singing with the group and trying to give their best to every song, they were also passionately singing their hearts out for each other but rather seemingly unaware of it all. �e expressions just came out so naturally from them and happened in a very subtle way that only Angie and Ian can really describe and capture the profundity of those moments. On the 14th of January 2007, Angie and Ian became a new couple on the lovers’ lane. It was indeed a very fine, calm Sunday morning when the two lovebirds rested on a solitary bench surrounded by small trees and little shrubs behind a colossal stadium. �e distant sounds of the tennis rackets hitting a ball, the cheers of the players shooting a basketball, the lively hushed chatters of the early joggers and the quick intervals of brief silence all seemed to orchestrate the beautiful background music and the gentle, rhythmic thumps and throbs carried the melody that echoed in their hearts.

A ngie and Ian started out as schoolmates at Mountain View College in the

Philippines and graduated about a year apart. �e school community was rather closely knit that one could possibly match the face and name of every human living on the campus. Ironically, for some unknown reason, Angie’s and Ian’s paths hardly ever crossed in spite of the nearness in distance of one from the other inside the college. And perhaps it’s safe to say that both existed outside of each other’s world, where one did not know the existence of the other! �e evidence of them rubbing elbows with each other or being in the same room at the same time during their time at college is very difficult to prove; neither one of them has the slightest memory to recall. If the word strangers is unsuitable, Angie and Ian were plain schoolmates or remote acquaintances and remained somewhat worlds apart throughout their years at college. Although the next line of thought might sound rather clichéd, it still has a unique and timeless appeal; Angie and Ian were so near and yet so far! �ey had taken different career directions and later on left their alma mater after graduation to face new challenges in the outside world. �ey totally vanished from the campus scenes and disappeared in the crowd of millions like little droplets of rain in the ocean. But that was not the end of their story as it rather resembled a prelude to an astonishingly

unexpected next chapter, somewhat like a fairy tale that would end with a happy ending. No matter how far their paths seemed to drift apart, the world is very small place, and it seemed destined that these paths would again cross and meet. �eir trails traveled the mountains and lands, crossed oceans and seas, passed borders and boundaries and finally merged in Bangkok, �ailand. Even Angie and Ian found the events that led to their timely meeting hard to believe. �e year was 2006 when a casual friendship ignited a spark of attraction that woke their dormant feelings of love from a prolonged slumber. It was then that a beautiful love story began to unfold. Generously giving his singers a chance to perform a special part or a brief moment to shine, Alfred John De Veyra, the pioneer choirmaster of Bangkok Voices, gave Angie and Ian the duet in His Eye Is on the Sparrow. �ey were very reluctant to accept their duet at first, but later on gathered enough courage to try it out because Alfred challenged them to believe in themselves despite the odds that had beset them at that time. As the well-acclaimed choral group was gaining popularity, more singing engagements and concerts were held in Bangkok. Angie and Ian were always seated next to each other during rehearsals and concert performances. �rough their time

Toto Ian, the groom and only child born to parents, Alejandro and Rachel, hails from the southern part the neighboring island called Negros. He

had been educated in various elementary and secondary schools located in Negros, Romblon, Batangas and Cebu before he �nally graduated high school from Negros Mission Academy. He then enrolled in Central Philippine Adventist College but stayed there rather brie�y. The year was 1995 when he moved to Mountain View College to take up BA in English and then graduated with honors from the same college in October 1998. While working full-time the following year as an English teacher at Philippine Cultural High School (PCHS), he grabbed the opportunity to take the LET, following a series of review sessions at Philippine Normal University in Manila. In 2003, he went together

with a team of English teachers from PCHS to teach middle

school students in China during the summer break. Having decided to pursue a teaching career in Thailand, Ian accepted a teaching position at the Korean International School in Bangkok. At present he’s still teaching at the same school while waiting for a good chance to move to greener

pastures, hopefully, in the not-so-distant future.

Jiji for a little girl full of dreams and Gie for a charming lady now becoming a lovely bride,

are special names to address Angie, who spent the whole 17 years with her family and friends on the campus of East Visayan Academy. Lovingly raised up to become such a �ne woman that she truly is today, Angie adores her parents, Henry and Fe, as well as her minister brother, Jemwin, and her twin sister, Haidee, who recently got married this year in Montana, USA. After completing her basic education at East Visayan Academy, Angie left her hometown to get a BS in Accountancy at Mountain View College. Her life at MVC was also packed with extra-curricular activities. And when she was ready to take on more challenging responsibilities, she got elected into various positions in major organizations inside the college.

She brie�y became a teller in a local branch of PS Bank in Cebu City. In 2001, she moved to Bangkok upon the invitation of Jessie Colegado, her close relative who is based in Sudan at present, without knowing that she was going to accept the challenge of a brand-new career in teaching.Being a shadow teacher for a special student was her �rst opportunity, which eventually became her career and life in Bangkok. The proper

training and experience she earned at St. Andrews International School groomed her to become a very e�ective educational consultant and trainer in a �ourishing British international company catering to children with special needs. The former accountant is so satis�ed with her present career and daily blessed by the love and support of her groom who will become her lawfully-wedded husband today.
