(3) PROPHETS product testing, training, awareness
raising and project exploitation will be conducted
with consideration of issues like confidentiality,
impact on the various diversity strands, and social
acceptability of the project outputs.
(4) A framework on legal and ethical issues for the
project exploitation with regard to privacy and data
protection.
Dissemination, Harmonisation and Exploitation
activities have been outlined in an initial dissemination
plan as a guideline for project partners on identifying
and implementing dissemination opportunities, to
guarantee a proper communication of the project, the
dissemination of results/outcomes and to maximise the
impact of the project. Moreover, dissemination and
communication is monitored by keeping track on
activities like the newly developed project website,
public deliverables, scientific publications, events and
conferences, social media and collaboration with other
projects.
Conferences and other events
PROPHETS at the Security Research Event in
Brussels (December 2018)
The Security Research Event is the
annual meeting where industry,
governments and knowledge institutions
come together to discuss the state of
play and current challenges for security
research in Europe and where EU-
funded security-related projects were
displayed in a large exhibition area.
PROPHETS at a glance The primary concern of PROPHETS is in identifying the
online factors which lead to the behavioural
radicalisation that precedes many acts of cybercrime or
related online terrorism.
PROPHETS will develop
a coherent, EU-wide,
adaptive security model,
built upon the interplay of
the human factors within
the new cyber ecosystem and capable of addressing
the four strategic outcomes: (1) extensive analysis and
synthesis of behavioural radicalisation, (2) open source
behavioural investigation and analysis platform, (3) best
practice roadmap and policy training toolkit and finally
(4) awareness raising activities.
PROPHETS project finished its first year of activities
successfully and is ready to start its second phase!
Activities in the first year
The project has now a framework in terms of legal and
ethical requirements both for the research activity in
itself and for the outcome expected such as the
PROPHETS platform. The following reports have been
completed:
(1) A map of the legal and the ethical considerations
raised in relation to POPHETS collecting, sharing
and storage of cybercrime and behavioural
radicalisation profile data on specific practitioner
infrastructure.
(2) A map ensuring that PROPHETS’ research into the
topic of behavioural
radicalisation is upheld
to the very best
standards of human
research ethics, academic standards and EU-wide
legal awareness.
