Tēna koutou katoa- Greetings to you all Parent Interviews Do you really know what is happening in your child’s classroom? Do your children tell you that they can do what they like in class? Do you know how the daily planner works? Are you one of the parents who is asking why their child doesn’t have any homework? It sounds like you need to come to our parent interviews and find out the REAL answers ! Parent interviews can be booked online as per the instructions on page 2 (overleaf). Parents/caregivers of ALL students in Years 4 –8 should attend. Interviews for students in Years 0— 3 are optional. If you do not have internet access then please contact the school office for an interview time as soon as pos- sible. Times are strictly ‘first come, first served’. Going Home Arrangements Yesterday at 3pm we had a variety of issues with students’ travel arrangements, which made things very difficult for staff who were trying to ensure students went home via the correct mode of transport. Can I remind you that you must contact the school office before 2pm if your child’s arrangements have changed. An email is acceptable, but you must ensure you have received a reply if this is your preferred method of contact. Thank you to the families who take the time to email the office at the start of the week and tell us the plan for how their child is going home for the whole week. Waipa Fun Run Congratulations to our team of 17 Ōhaupō School students who took part in the Waipa Fun Run 2km Schools’ Challenge in Cambridge last Sunday. We were thrilled to win the $500 prize draw!! Schools with more than 10 students enter- ing the run are put into a lucky draw and this time we were the lucky school! Well done to everyone who took part, along with parents, caregivers and family supporters, and to Sarah Davies who co-ordinated the event on the day. Awesome team effort. Representing Ohaupo School at the Swimming Good luck to all of our super swimmers at the inter-schools swimming events taking place tomorrow. Lower Waipa Swimming Sports at Te Awamutu Events Centre and the Full Primary Swimming Sports at St Peter’s, Cambridge. Thank you to all the parents who are able to take transport. Your support is very much appreciated. Assembly for Mrs Amy Harrop At our assembly on Friday 27th March, starting at 9am, we will be having a small presentation and thank you for Mrs Harrop on behalf of all the staff and students. Mrs Harrop has decided not to return in a full-time position following her maternity leave, but we are pleased that we will continue to see her as she continues her relationship with our school as a regular relieving teacher. Parent Interviews Do you really know what is happening in your child’s classroom? Do your children tell you that they can do what they like in class? Do you know how the daily planner works? Have you booked a Parent Interview ?

Come and meet the teacher… Parent interview are available for all students. The dates are Tuesday 31st March and Wednesday 1st April 2015.

We would like parents/caregivers of ALL students in Years 4 - 8 to bring their child along to discuss progress, targets and concerns with their teacher.

Interviews are optional for students in Years 0 - 3 and teach-ers of students in Years 0 - 3 will be available to meet you on Tuesday 31st March only**. To find out how to book an appointment please access the school website

www.ohaupo.school.nz and look for the ‘Parent Interviews” tab. If you don’t have internet access please ring the office for an appointment time as soon as possible.

**Parent interviews for year 0 - 3 students are usually held at six-monthly intervals and the teacher will contact you as your child reaches their birthday (or birthday plus 6 months) to make a suitable appointment, however you are welcome to also come and see the teacher on Tuesday 31st if you wish.

Fonterra Open Day: We’ve been asked to do the catering for the Fonterra open day at Lake Ruatuna—Saturday April 11th as a fundraiser. We have a team together and could do with an extra pair of hands if anyone is interested. Should be a fun day! We’ll be preparing on the Friday evening and will be there on the day —10-1pm is the timeframe.

Take the stress away from finding childcare these school holidays or just mix it up a little for the kids. ICAS Tests We are offering ICAS Tests to students in Years 4 - 8 who wish to participate in tests in Digital Technology, Science, Writing, Spelling, English or Maths. The tests are taken dur-ing school hours and students receive a comprehensive report and analysis of their results, along with a certificate. Entry forms are available on our website www.ohaupo.school.nz, look for ‘Information / Forms’ or from the office. The closing date for entries is Tuesday 31st March.

School Holiday Programme

Morning and afternoon tea provided, just bring something for lunch. Breakfast available for those attending full-time hours. Fees:

• Full-time hours (7.15am – 5.30pm) $50 per *trip day

• Full-time hours (7.15am – 5.30pm) $40 per in-centre day

• School hours (8.30am – 3.00pm) $40 per *trip day

• School hours (8.30am – 3.00pm) $30 per day

A 50% deposit of fees are payable once enrolment is confirmed with the remaining fees due by 2 April. Places are limited so please ensure we receive your payments on time.

Ohaupo Kids Zone is OSCAR approved so you may be eligible for a subsidy, please check out www.workingforfamilies.govt.nz for more information.
