PRIMARY ATHLETICS FUN DAY Our Primary Athletics Fun Day will be held on Wednesday 14th October, 2020 (Week 1, Term 4). Due to Department of Education COVID-19 guidelines, modifications have had to be made to our normal Athletics Carnival program. The Athletics Fun Day will take place this year on the school oval, and only the track and novelty events will run on this day. Field event finals (long jump, discus and shot put) will occur during Weeks 2 – 4 at lunchtimes. The Fun Day will involve the following events: 100m races and finals (8yrs, 9yrs, 10yrs, 11yrs, 12yrs, 13yrs) 200m & 800m races and finals (Junior, 11yrs and Senior) House relays Novelty events Unfortunately, parents/carers are not permitted to attend the Primary Athletics Fun Day. Please ensure that your child’s media and Facebook permissions are up-to-date so that we can share any photos taken on the day. The canteen will be open on the day for recess and lunch orders, and other tasty snacks. Please ensure that your child brings a full water bottle, an appropriate sun-safe hat, shoes that are suitable for sport and sunscreen. Students can wear their House colours: Acacia (yellow), Banksia (red), Eucalypt (blue), Melaleuca (green). No midriff tops or singlets should be worn.

  • Band & Choir Update Thank you all for your patience this term. It has certainly been a rollercoaster ride! I am cautiously optimistic that our band and choir programs may be able to resume in some form in Term 4. A working group called the Roundtable of Instrumental, Vocal and Music Education Organisations (RIVMEO) has been meeting with NSW Health to develop a risk management framework for vocal and instrumental music in community and education settings. This is a very encouraging first step. I am hopeful that these meetings will result in updated advice being offered to the Department of Education by NSW Health. In the meantime, let’s all keep practising hard so that we are ready to go if things change! Information about Junior Band 2021 will be released early next term. Stay tuned! Lost Property We have been enjoying some wonderful weather recently and perhaps this has contributed to an increase in discarded jumpers, hats and drink bottles finding their way into lost property. Please ensure that all items are labelled and if your child’s school jumper is currently missing perhaps check there. Students may look through lost property for missing belongings before school, at recess, lunchtime and after school (not during class time). The lost property box is located on the balcony near the reading room. Unlabelled items will be donated to our used clothing pool or a local charity shop. All unnamed drink bottles, containers and miscellaneous items will be thrown out. These school holidays, please take time to check your child’s bags and ensure all of their items are clearly labelled. Please return to school any stray hats or jumpers that have mistakenly been taken home.

  • K-2 Athletics Fun Day

  • A perfect day was had by everyone at the K-2 Athletics Fun Day yesterday on a hot sunny day. The children had a great time rotating through age races, shot put, discus, long jump, ball games, relay races and novelty events. The novelty events included target practice, sacks & bean bags, hurdles, hoops & ladders and egg and spoons. The excitement lasted all day, with the children showing great sportsmanship in all activities.
