NO. 1 SONG

Lady Antebellum has been busy since its last No. 1 on the MusicRow Chart. The trio found new management, released a deluxe CD, and embarked on a recently extended Take Me Downtown Tour. This week we celebrate the band’s first No. 1 status of 2014 with “Compass,” a track found on the Nov. 11 deluxe re-issue of Capitol Nashville’s Golden.

Thursday, January 23, 2014

The song came as a welcomed surprise to radio when it was introduced, seemingly out of the blue, to fans already familiar with Golden’s May 7 track list.

Although Nathan Chapman and Lady A members produced the single, songwriters originate from the Stargate production and songwriting team, including Tor Erik Hermansen, Mikkel Storleer Eriksen, Amar Mali, Ross Golan, Daniel Omelio, and Emile Haynie. Members of the Norwegian group have not only contributed to the Capitol Nashville roster with Keith Urban’s “Shame,” but also to the success of Beyonce’s “Irreplaceable,” Selena Gomez’s “Come & Get It,” S Club 7’s “S Club Party,” Katy Perry’s “Firework,” and Rihanna’s “Don’t Stop The Music,” “Only Girl (In The World),” and “S&M.”

The Peter Zavadil directed music video , which premiered in December of 2013, can be seen here.
