St. Lawrence Lodge Enters Into Partnership for Nurse Practitioner Services Starting January 2019

The Home has entered into a partnership with Suzanne O’Reilly of S. O’Reilly Nursing Professional Corp to deliver Nurse Practitioner Services to residents of the Home starting January 8, 2019. A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a Registered Nurse in the Extended Class, who has additional nursing education and experience. NPs are able to order and interpret diagnostic tests, communicate diagnoses, prescribe pharmaceuticals, and perform specific procedures.

As a Nurse Practitioner, Suzanne will be actively involved in delivering comprehensive primary care for residents that will promote health and well-being in a timely manner. She has an extensive nursing background having previously held positions working in long term care, community health centers, Canadian military, critical care, and Northern Outpost assignments. Funding to support this partnership is provided through the MOHLTC Attending Nurse Practitioners in Long Term Care Initiative. Please join us in welcoming Suzanne O’Reilly to St. Lawrence Lodge.

Thank You to St. Lawrence Lodge Employees for Donating Resident Christmas Gifts

We would like to take this opportunity to thank SLL employees for their generous support of the resident Christmas Gift initiative this year. Employees donated individual gifts so that each resident received a Christmas present to open on Christmas morning. We appreciate the generousity and kindness to others shown by all those staff members who participated this year. Your compassion and caring made a difference! We would also like to thank the Activation Department staff members for all their hard work in the background getting the presents wrapped, organized, and eventually delivered on Christmas morning!

Have a great month! Regards,

Tom Harrington Administrator

Streamlining Resident Billing

Effective February 1, 2019, the Lodge will be processing charges for monthly accommodation (basic/private/semi), cable tv service, phone service and hair services in one bill to you. What this means for residents is that all your services will be paid with one monthly draw (EFT – Electronic Funds Transfer), if you currently are set up for these services; which occurs generally between the 5th to 7th day of each month. In order to implement this change, we ask that you complete a new EFT Agreement. A copy is attached to this notice. The new Agreement will replace the previous agreement (attached for your reference) that we have on file. By making this change, all we have done is transferred all of your existing information and approval levels into the new document. Please sign or initial as indicated with the yellow highlighter. Trust accounts will remain and will be available for personal use by the resident within our home, for things like Lodge Shop purchases. We will automatically issue trust statements on a quarterly basis. Please note you can access your trust activity details at any time. All you have to do is visit us in the Business Office and we will provide you with the information you are looking for. It will be your responsibility to ensure you have enough funds in your trust account for all of your personal activities. Should you wish to replenish your balance please contact the Business Office.
